Apple store made not a peep of coming up - still had the sign saying the store was closed for update - till about 12:36 PT. Then it stepped right through the order without a single hiccup or slow load. Easy peasy. Wish that had happened at 12:01 and I would already be asleep. AT&T site just stayed frozen with some notice about heavy demand. One minute it doesn't even work and then - poof - heavy demand. Oh well. Its ordered now as long as they don't cancel the order for no apparent reason like they did with the the 4 a couple of summers ago. I had two ordered then but I only have one on order this time. My wife is no longer a big fan. Can't wait to see it.

I got an email order in process at 00:02 PST it qued my order because i had the wrong crdit card exp date. i gave them my amex info up to date and at 00:45 PST the the order change info. It appears asson as you enter your info from the carrier you are put in line and they give you time to complete your order if there is a problem.

also the ipod touch says a ship date of october i thought they would ship the same day as the iphone.i did not order one anyways just curious if i was mistaken on the itouch ship date?

It will not let me select in store pickup- the bubble for that is grayed out.

Last new phone for me was iPhone4 when it was brand new, and reserving online for in store pickup then was easy and no problem....

Am I doing something wrong this time?
Have they not made that option available yet?

I know 8am starts in store preorders, but I was hoping to reserve online to only have to do the in store frenzy once on pickup day, not twice with reserving in person too.

it appears that only online pre-orders, for now, are being shipped to your home. I would call your local ARS tomorrow to see if they have an in store reservation system.

WOW its 2 weeks now?

yep. I think this is on Apple this time. There is no way they did not know there would be a high demand. Production should have been ramped up much earlier. There is no reason orders should be delayed on the very first day of ordering.

It really says two weeks already? All models? My order was finished about 12:40 and says Delivers 9/21. Lucky I guess.

i can't seem to change the shipping address yet

Me neither, but I got it, after a bit of cache-clearing. The regular Apple store webpage wouldn't load at all until I cleared my Internet history in Firefox, and would throw some script error when I tried to load the page in IE.

AT&T's main webpage and the AT&T Premier site were still crapping out pretty hard when I tried them, but it upgraded my line pretty quickly after the Apple store checked eligibility.

Yaaaaay.

I am getting this....

iPhone 5 32GB Black & Slate (GSM), AT&T 1
$299.00
Available to ship: 2 weeks
Delivers Within 5 days after shipping by Standard Shipping
Part Number: MD636LL/A

NOTHING ABOUT DELIVERY 9/21?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

1 hour and not even close to getting anything on sprint.com. Massive fail for them. Good grief.

I GOT IT!!! It took a while and may attempts.

Apple/ATT/ unlimited data (grandfathered) shipping 9-21

Can't Wait!

Possibly because AT&T's servers are still having issues.

I ordered mine through the iOS app and it went through eventually. I had to retry about 5 times from the checkout screen but it finally went through. On AT&T's own site, Safari (Mac) and IE (Windows) kept showing the "loading" screen while Chrome (Mac) let me in all the way to the checkout screen, even letting me select the no-commitment option, but then choked when I got to the screen to verify my account information. Their site is screwed up tonight.

However, regardless of the browser, I was able to log into my AT&T account (there's a separate link on their home screen for that) and could see that my contract date had been extended, so the iOS app order must have gone through (I also got the e-mail confirmation). I'll see if I can order the no-contract version later, and if so, I'll just cancel my Apple order within 30 days of 9/21/12.
