it appears that only online pre-orders, for now, are being shipped to your home. I would call your local ARS tomorrow to see if they have an in store reservation system.

yep. I think this is on Apple this time. There is no way they did not know there would be a high demand. Production should have been ramped up much earlier. There is no reason orders should be delayed on the very first day of ordering.

Forget first day! It took only an hour! Thank God I got it in.

Was it just me or when I ordered through apple.com it didn't ask,me if I wanted to buy an extra cables or accessories or even a choice to buy the apple care? It didn't even show me my plan.unless I was just trying to fly through the whole process lol.. Even though everything stayed the same for my plan and when and if I want AppleCare my apple store is down the block so I will go in and get it. I forget how long you have to buy it though 30days?

The same thing happened last year and I think Apple let pre-order people add it without going to the store.

Vodafone now accepting pre-orders but their website has crashed and there's a 45 min wait on the phone. Excellent!!

1 hour and not even close to getting anything on sprint.com. Massive fail for them. Good grief.

As a shareholder, I'm hoping this means there are so many orders that Apple will smash all records again. The Street is hoping that Apple sells 10-12 million of these before month end!

I disagree. We don't know the exact quantity of phones that were just ordered worldwide. We do know however that millions of people most likely just placed orders. Give them a break.

I can't place an order from the SG apple store website. It says today 14th Sept after 3pm. Contacted the sales chat, they said by 3pm. After that call the sales people they said not sure. Bull ****!

There wasn't with the 4S, either. The crowds will be massive enough. Eventually they may add a reservation system, but note that often times, even with Macs and iPads, the online pickup system has wait times even if the item is in stock at the stores.

Well, I had no problems (about an hour ago). Everything worked quickly once the store was online. Hopefully I'll be able to change the shipping address, though, because I move back up to college on Thursday 9/20. How convenient.

Edit: Does everyone's order on apple.com say "We've received your order," or has anyone's moved up to "Processing"? I hope my shipping dates don't get delayed if my order hasn't been processed yet.

So i ordered the phone on my line, but will it be possible when the phone arrives i transfer my son over. and have the phone activate on his number with the data + text plan? i'm in no need for an iphone atm, but will pick one up in a few months.
