I am a bit disappointed... I was hoping that i could purchase the phones online now and pick them up launch day at the retail store like the iPhone reservation process. I hate getting things shipped, I either miss the shipment, or it always comes late.

Does anyone know if I will have to wait on line, or will they eventually open up a similar reservation process for in-store pickup?

Grr.. "limit 2 per customer" but seemingly no way to port 2 different numbers over from AT&T to VZ. Tried changing quantity to 2 but it just told me I can only do one at a time. Booo..

Sort of ironic bought my iPhone 5 with my iPhone 3GS through the apple store app. Just to think I downloaded the app at 23:57 pst and as soon as it was done they started selling at 23:59 pst. Had my confirmation email saying order in process by 00:02 pst' guess I beat the rush I ordered the 64 gb

An important lesson that many people have already learned on previous launches...

DON'T ORDER ANYTHING WITH YOUR PHONE IF YOU WANT IT DELIVERED ON LAUNCH DAY!

Ordered my last phone using the phone, got it launch day like everyone who ordered from Apple's website.

Couldn't get to the web store so I ordered via my iPad. Done 2 minutes later with a delivery date of 9/21.

Wife's laptop would not let her into Apple store but mine processed both orders fine!

for anyone who is using chrome and getting apple store is still down... use incognito mode for some reason its maintaining that page...

additionally I wasnt able to get the apple buttons to work with stupid IE9... they wouldn't click

take the phone to an att/verizon/sprint store and explain what you are doing, they should be more than happy to help, and resist the temptation to turn it on before you get it activated at the store.

Lol ya I figured. My wife and I have upgraded our phones using family plan lines that have dumb phones attached before, but never through a pre-order. With the 30 day refund window I'll be good regardless.

Got my 32gb Black/Slate and my wife's 16gb White/Silver.

Next Friday can't come fast enough!!

Got one black, one white via the apple store app. Worked like a dream. A few minutes before 8 in the UK.

Wanted to do it via the website going via quidco (cashback probably owuln't have tracked anyhow as it's a new product and they don't generally offer cashback on new releases) but the web store stil wouldn't work. Oh well. Hey ho I got mine ordered now to decide which colour i prefer when it arrives!

ATT crashed on me. Downloaded the Apple Store app and I was done in a minute. Time to go to bed.

I'm in PA and couldn't get on the apple.com or att webpage from my iMac. I took everyones advice and used the apple store app and it went pretty well. Also got on the apple.com site from my iPad in case the apple store app didn't work, and I could get to the pre-order site from there no problem.

Thanks to all for the apple store app suggestion, worked great!

Took 25 minutes of repeated tries via the iPhone Apple Store app, but WooHoo!!! 64GB BLACK/SLATE in the mail!!!

I even used AT&T's cellular service to do it!
