unlocked iPhone will be avialble on this Friday for preorder
unlocked iPhone 5 will be available for the preoder on this Friday.. (source? heard it from Tim, if you dont believe me, why don't you go ahead email him or wait until this Friday)
The reason why it took about couple of weeks to provide unlocked phone from last year is that they just started offering. But this year, it will be offered with other options as well.

I will be taking a trip into an Orange store tomorrow, just spoke to someone at Orange who stated, 'sorry, we are only sending the nano SIMS out with the iPhone 5'!!!!
Hmmm, somehow I don't quite believe that. I have to buy a new contract, or upgrade just to get an iPhone 5 nano SIM on Orange!!

Yes. Until it is prepared for shipping, my personal experience is not a problem.
When it goes into the "prep" mode, usually 2-3 days before delivery, you usually have to return it via Ups etc. You can't return apple.com orders to stores.

If you get a phone for full price, get the unlocked version. It has a much better resale and holds value longer.

The iPhone5 is a nice incremental upgrade, but not enough for me to rush out and replace my iPhone4 (even after two years of using it now).
what?! really? i have a 4 which I got on launch day and it is super slow compared to the 4s and also I have been running iOS 6 on it the last couple of months and am not looking forward to keeping it while running this OS. the processor alone is not enough to sell you on this upgrade? I guess that I am one person closer to getting my iphone on time then...thanks?
Can someone confirm that if you preorder through Verizonwireless.com that you will get the phone on the day of the release just like you would if you ordered it through apple.com?

Just got off the phone with Best Buy. They changed the way they give you the promotional $50 gift card. You can't use it on your iPhone 5 purchase because now they're mailing it to you a month after you get your phone. AND they won't guarantee that you'll get your preorder on launch day or even the following day. Screw that.

I'm looking forward to Siri (legit). Siri proxy is annoying as the proxy service I use goes down on my iPhone 4.. always when I am asking Siri to do something you'd think she would understand locally (set a reminder, set a timer, etc).
The interesting part is everyone I know with a 4S barely uses it and when I am able to use it, I use the crap out of it to remind me of stuff and set timers constantly. I have missed her lately, so I'm real happy about finally having her on the iPhone 5. And she can open apps now, right?! Woo!

I did not realize that the latest Android did time travel. This is a great feature and may get me to switch from iOS. Before I do, could you check to see what happens with my life over the next five years? I'd like to know if I can just skip it without any really loss. Do my wife and I have kids? If so, I guess I'll stick with iOS as I'd hate to miss my children's formative years just for the awesomeness of Android.
