that sucks!

i wont be ordering one...might wait for iP5S.

but being an EST person I wish it was 9amEST, 6am PST.
arrgh.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The iPhone 5 will be the first mobile phone with the dual core A15 processor. This processor allows the i5 to run longer, cooler and faster than anything else that exists in the market.
It also allows the phone to be lighter. As far as the screen goes. I weighed the S3 as my next phone but when you start sticking phones with such large screens in your back pocket they tend to crack if you ever sit down. The 3.5" screen has been solid in my back pocket for years. I'm hoping the 4" gives me a little more real estate without causing structural weakness.

You sit on your phone?

meh :( "iPhone 4GS" would have been a more applicable name.

The iPhone5 is a nice incremental upgrade, but not enough for me to rush out and replace my iPhone4 (even after two years of using it now).

incremental?

20% thinner
20% lighter
LTE
Screen made to 4 inches
Improved Battery life
40% better color saturation
TWICE AS FAST

How come Apple has to reinvent the phone every damn year? This is a significant upgrade

Amen. These are the people who will be disappointed with every iPhone upgrade from now on. What else do they want this device to seriously do?

----------

I have an iPhone 4 and I am definitely getting the iPhone 5.
Ditto. This will be an excellent upgrade!

Whats all this talk about different shipping and billing address having to be the same? What if we want it shipped somewhere else, can we do that?

Business Accounts

Anyone here have an AT&T Business Account? I do and I was able to Pre-Preorder my iPhone 5. AT&T Business accounts can't order from Apple directly and have to go to a direct AT&T store or call a special business contract number. The business department has the ability to place preorders tomorrow just like apple.com, but they are also taking preorders today and automatically placing them tomorrow morning.

That's kind of surprising. I've got a business account, and I've been able to pre-order from Apple for past iPhones (4 & 4s). It seems to me that they probably just added a note to the account to process the order at some point tomorrow . . .I can't imagine that they can automatically effect the pre-order when they become available. If I were you, my concern would be that they don't submit the request before the launch day shipments are sold out. On the other hand, if that works, then you've saved yourself from a disjointed night's sleep.

Alarm clock, set.

Looks like I have about 12 hours to decide if I want white or black. Always loved the white ever since I regretted not waiting for it, but the black looks so slick this time around. :p

AT&T has my upgrade date at Oct 14. FML

Sometimes they let you upgrade in same month (i.e. Oct 1). But prob will be weeks wait by then. Still refuse to pay the extra $250.

I also want to switch carriers. If I do that, will they wait to port over my number until after I get the phone or will they do that once they take the order, making mine useless for a week?

lol, you forgot:

Better touch detection
Less glare
Faster wi-fi
Better speakers
Better headset
Better headphone jack location
Better connector (You can insert it both ways! Seriously cannot be understated.)
Better speech recognition
Better noise cancellation
Better camera, lens
Better antennas
Stronger case
Better voice quality (carrier support required)

I'm seriously having trouble thinking of anything they didn't improve this time around. Extremely impressive update, and how they made it lighter, thinner, and longer lasting too I have no idea.

Edit: you also have to note that it's not just "LTE", but LTE with the same energy performance as 3G. I think that's industry-first, no?

Ive gotten 3 different answers as to if Verizon customers need to change the billing address if they want the phone delivered somewhere else. Not sure what the story is.

I'm using a friends upgrade and i'm just having the phone sent to me at college.
Will I have the option to change the name of the person the phone is to be delivered to when I go to order? I'm a university student and I wont get the package unless it's addressed to me.

When you guys say order through the carrier.. Are you talking about over the phone with a customer service rep from your specific carrier? That's easier than going online at Apple.com and placing the order?

Do Apple.com orders get priority in terms of shipping?
