Unlocked iPhones took a EUR 50 bump here in France where more and more people buy unlocked phones! Eur 679 inc VAT instead of Eur 629 for the 4S. You're looking at a USD 65 increase per phone ! I find it a tad much to swallow, frankly...

I'm definitely keeping the 3GS with iOS 6 for a few more weeks before getting myself a 5.

Yeah, I too am irked with Apple's price increases on the iPhone and lack of a price decrease on the 4gen iPod Touch.

I'm not buying this iPhone, but this may help people out. Last year for the 4S, I pre-ordered through Verizon. I was done ordering at 3:05 est, and back in bed at 3:06 est. Whereas, people who ordered directly through apple, couldn't even get into the apple store until almost 4am. So, if you're worried about getting enough sleep, order through your carrier. Verizon did have a glitch though which changed everybody's delivery date to a week late, but they all got here on time.

The LTE alone is worth it to me. There are other great improved features as well. I am happy with this upgrade overall. I don't currently qualify for an upgrade, but I'm grabbing one for my wife and I anyhow.

It is where I live.

Anything else?

Yes, I'd rather live in a state with bad weather than one that runs itself like a college kid with 10 maxed out credit cards. ;)

Is pre-ordering just buying online? Or can you also reserve one to collect from an Apple store, like they did with the iPhone 4?

They didn't do it last year, and they haven't announced reservations this year, so I'm guessing no.

Thanks, but that's the Canadian store. While the dollars are close, it does not guarantee the same pricing since apple is an American company.

European prices are even more inflated than the prices you show.

I imagine the reason the iPhone price wasn't mentioned in the keynote is due to a price increase. The new iPods are the same price in both Canadian and US online stores, so...

Upgrade Pricing "The Real Price"

i put my number in the ATT upgrade eligibility page and it said i can do an early upgrade for an higher price or wait till MAY 13th 2013 to for the normal upgrade price.
so i called ATT and dey said id have to pay $250 for the upgrade with $200+ for the phone nearly 500+ for the iPhone 5 smh im thinking should i wait till May and be left out or should i just eat the money and go since my birthday is Oct 21st
THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS BECAREFUL OF ATT AND THERE SO-CALLED UPGRADE ELIGIBLE PRICES
i think i should go to sprint but how much would dey charge since i might be gone too them again?

I don't get what the fuss is about. iOS is very disappointing. So limiting and restrictive. Have you people seen Android Jelly Bean on the latst Samsung hardware. It puts iOS to shame and 5 years behind.

This iPhone is release has nothing new. The processor is slow compared to Samsung, the screen is small. Apple have lost their way.

Thanks for the good laugh.

I've had an iPhone for the past 4 years. This year is my last. In November my contract is up for renewal and I will be hopping to the future which is Android.

That's my 2 cents...
I doubt that's true at all.

I have a 1000 texts for $10 a month plan + 2 GB of data for $25 a month plan with AT&T. Both no longer offered by AT&T. My contract expired in July. Can I keep both these plans regardless of who I pre-order with? (AT&T or Apple.)

Hey guys,
long time follower, first time poster here

This is my first time pre-ordering the iPhone online, and I'm just wondering how important it is to do it ASAP, or would I be fine with pre-ordering online in the next few days? If I'm not one of the first to pre-order, will I be stuck with a delayed shipping estimate?

thanks

Yes, I'd rather live in a state with bad weather than one that runs itself like a college kid with 10 maxed out credit cards. ;)

The reality of the economic situation in California is not as bad as the media makes it out to be. Besides, you still live in a country that acts like a college kid with 10 maxed out credit cards (and it doesn't matter who is in charge). However, this is a conversation that is completely off-topic and has nothing to do with this thread. So, that's all from me on this.

Back on topic..... I hope Apple is better able to handle the server load this year.

Verizon preorder

Last preorder for 4S with Verizon went great. Was able to get in site about 3:03 a.m., back in bed by 3:25 a.m., and that was because I spent 10 minutes after completing the order staring at pics of the 4S iPhone, lol.
I need help....

Thanks, but that's the Canadian store. While the dollars are close, it does not guarantee the same pricing since apple is an American company.

European prices are even more inflated than the prices you show.

Here's what I found by checking my US Verizon upgrade eligibility through Apple's site

Apple gift card during preorder?

Has anyone used an Apple gift card pre-ordering online? I assume it should be a smooth process, just curious if anyone has done this in the past.
