Thanks for the good laugh.

I doubt that's true at all.

Really! You buy into Apples marketing? Wake up and let me educate you.

1- A new cable connection? Really why not go USB 3 that is industry standard and would allow easy access to connection cables anywhere? Have Apple also designed this cable to fray and split at the connection point like all the other cables they custom design. Funny how none of my industry standard USB cables do this?

2- A 6 processor. Again Apple inform us how much faster it is. All Apple custom A range processors have been slow and clunky. Im convinced this is yet again more lies and marketing hype. They dumped this need to develope processors in the PC market because they could not keep up with intel and AMD. How long before the iPhone A processors gets dumped? Soon I hope.

3- the screen is 5% longer.... Oooooohhhh wow Apple. Really thinking out the box this time.

4- like the new Map system is going to be better than google maps that has been evolving for 10 years. More marketing hype over Apple taking many steps backward.

5- Apple claim longer battery life. Do I have to dim the screen low enough to help it last through the working day like my iPhone 3, 4 and now 4S? Great soloution. Why not stop useing the phone completely, this might allow the battery to last the day.

The list could continue...

Really? I didn't order a 4S, but this was not the case in years past - the delivery was always FedEx Standard Overnight, which I think is before 3 PM in most areas (but that may only be for commercial addresses). Never received an iPhone via UPS, so I'm not sure what level of service they use.

Does anybody know if ordering through Verizon gives you access to tracking information like ordering from Apple Store? Like the fact that with Fedex I can have the package sent to Fedex office near where I work & pick up that same day. Thanks.

*** AT&T PRE-ORDER UPDATE CONFIRMATION ***

Vincent Testa: Pre-orders for the iPhone 5 will begin on 9/14/2012. Pre-orders can be done at www.att.com , www.apple.com , at your local AT&T Store, at an Apple retail location, or over the phone with Customer Care at 1-800-331-0500. Devices will be shipped on a first come, first serve basis and will begin to arrive on 9/21/2012. It will be available in stores starting on 9/21/2012.

Vincent Testa: That will be starting at 12:01 PT and processed online only.

With the launch of the 4 you could pre-order the phone online so that it would arrive on launch date (mine catually came a day early). But they say it ships/launches on the same day. Does that mean if you pre-order you will get it after the launch day?

When should we get the pre orders

I am thinking of just pre ordering from Verizon.. But does anyone know if either Verizon or Apple will ship on the 21st or will they be shipped so that we receive them on the 21st? Don't really want to have to wait the whole weekend as well.

I see ScooterLibby beat me to this question.

Yes, it does. I do recall that Verizon posts the tracking information a little later (maybe like a day later) than Apple does, but they do provide it.

Oh my god, the processor is slow!?

I work in User Experience for a living. I own a Galaxy Nexus, a Lumia (WP7) and I've owned every iPhone. It's interesting to see the differences between the different phones, but I choose iPhone every time because of it's exceptional experience (which of course because of app selection, extends beyond how the OS itself works). I usually lend the other phones to friends, and they've all returned them to me and bought an iPhone instead.

Windows Phone 7 is very interesting, and has an instant appeal that wares off very quickly.

Android on the other hand, always feels lacking. It's not nearly as responsive, it's app selection is terrible, and it's not nearly as user friendly. You might immediately respond to that and say you aren't a beginner, and that's fine with you, but give it a go for a few months, and see how you feel. There's some pro's for sure, but the cons always outweigh them.

As has always been the case, Apple products will be the Mercedes or BMW, and Android will always be the Toyota/Ford. Nothing really wrong with that, but if you want an attention to detail like no other, and exceptionally designed experiences, that's going to be Apple. At least for the time being.

I want to be able to recieve attachments in my emails, modify them and send them to email again. To do this in iOS is a nightmare. The iPhone is great for playing crappy games that loose appeal after 5 minutes.

I agree the old Samsung with Android phones lacked a slick and intuitive feel iOS provides. But this has now changed with Jelly Bean. Seriously, check out the Samsung Note 2, or Galaxy 3. It takes you 5 years into the future.

what are you? 12? I think there should be age restrictions in here.

Well I'm just as nuts as you all. :D. I'll be up to give it a shot. If it doesn't work and gets bogged down I'll go back to bed. I would order from BB just because I have cash to spend at the store... Oh well.
