Yes, there are pros and cons to all smartphones, but don't show up at the papal mass trying to convert folks from Catholicism to atheism. Just a waste of your breath. Go somewhere where people are on the fence about whether or not to go with an iPhone!
 
How many units do people think? If they started beginning of august and produced 50k units a day. that would only be about 2.5MM units. That definitely can't be enough with all those countries launching.

Verizon is screwing me and won't allow me to upgrade early.. I have to wait till October 7th. I ordered my iphone 4 the day it was allowed for current verizon customers.. :mad:
Anyone else getting this?

Are you seeing this offer on the BB site? I can't find it. 50 bucks is 50 bucks. I can always use it to buy iTunes gift cards for myself. :)

Ordering from Apple

My wife and I have iPhones on ATT. We want to jump to Verizon.

I see that Apple.com only allows you to order 1 phone at a time. Will I have to order the first phone and check out, then order the second telling them to add it to my just created Verizon account? I assume that I will be given my Verizon account information when I checkout with the first phone?

Also, I am on some sort of corporate ATT account because they are giving me a 15% discount because of where I work. I own the account. I am assuming that I will have no trouble porting my numbers to Verizon. Both my iPhone 4s are eligible....

Read the Apple site. You can order the iP5 unlocked with a nano-sim with prepaid mins, texts and data from 3, Voda or O2. It will come at an additional cost. Also, I just rang up my local 3 and they said they had nanosims in stock and I got them to reserve one for me :)

I'm swapping from Giffgaff. Also, 3 bought some spectrum from EE, so 3 will have 4G before everybody else alongside EE. Infact, I heard that the iP5 doesn't carry the right spectrum (O2/Voda). They'll be getting 800Mhz as opposed to EE's 1800Mhz.

I contacted AT&T via their live chat and here is what transpired.

I went ahead and ordered the dock adapter yesterday at apple.com, but from the getgo it says it won't ship until October. I figure if I come across one on launch day I can buy it retail and cancel the online order or more than likely keep it alive as I don't want to bring the adapter in and out of the car all the time.
 
Galaxy S III or Note II

These are much better than what was shown to us yesterday but you guys have fun! Since I wont go android, guess I'm waiting for 5s or 6... Still have the 4 since they cant seem to please me. Oh, and the Nano? Total waste of metal. Should have been a watch with BT.

1- A new cable connection? Really why not go USB 3 that is industry standard and would allow easy access to connection cables anywhere? Have Apple also designed this cable to fray and split at the connection point like all the other cables they custom design. Funny how none of my industry standard USB cables do this?

2- A 6 processor. Again Apple inform us how much faster it is. All Apple custom A range processors have been slow and clunky. Im convinced this is yet again more lies and marketing hype. They dumped this need to develope processors in the PC market because they could not keep up with intel and AMD. How long before the iPhone A processors gets dumped? Soon I hope.

3- the screen is 5% longer.... Oooooohhhh wow Apple. Really thinking out the box this time.

4- like the new Map system is going to be better than google maps that has been evolving for 10 years. More marketing hype over Apple taking many steps backward.

5- Apple claim longer battery life. Do I have to dim the screen low enough to help it last through the working day like my iPhone 3, 4 and now 4S? Great soloution. Why not stop useing the phone completely, this might allow the battery to last the day.

Hmmmm... I'm interested to hear what you thought about the iPhone 4S when it was released.

It looked EXACTLY like the previous iPhone... no screen size increase at all. And no LTE either.

Yet they sold 80 million of them over the last year... and made Apple one of the largest companies in the world.

I have a hunch this next iPhone's sales will be insane too.

New cable? Why is that an issue? You didn't have a problem with the old proprietary cable... why should you with the new proprietary cable?

Maps? Download ANY map app, including Google's. I hear there are a lot of cool apps in Apple's App Store.

You can try both ATT and apple websites at the same time

Just as well I have tomorrow of haha! I will be calling Orange UK later to see if I can get a nano SIM, then I'll TRY to pre order an unlocked one tomorrow morning.
I should really wait to see the phone, but as I have an iPhone 4 the only surprise will be the new shape and when I got that it took me about 2 or 3 months to get one!!!
I have a feeling if I don't get an order in quick this time round, I'll have to wait just as long...
 
In case any UK people were wondering...

A) the prices are £529, £599 and £699 for the 16/32/64 GB models respectively, according to the Apple Store app.
B) I assume we won't get to preorder at midnight our time, but it's worth trying. Otherwise 12.01am translates as 8.01am for us!
And C) I went into Orange today and the guy said he doesn't know about nano-sims yet, but that they should get them in the next 7 days.

My wife is in the same boat. Luckily for me, I'm switching from AT&T to Verizon (can't wait!!!) so there's no upgrade worries for me.
 
If I pre order through Apple will it let me ship to a different address other than what my billing address is?
