iPhone 5 Reservation at Apple Store

Got tired of the no stock ordering online. Got my butt up at 7 this morning, lined up in front of the Apple store in Valencia, Ca, grabbed three white 32gb. The lady handing out tickets had about 30 tickets left, but the website said none in stock. Folks, just head down to the store early in the morning. Much easier!
 
I am reserving one for a color swap. I was told that I could reserve one online saying add a line or something, then when I pick it up, they'll cancel the reservation and just swap out phones. I'm sure they could do the same for you.

Evidently not. I mean, if you can cancel the reservation, the phone just goes to someone else, so I don't think the reservation process really does much. When they cancel it, it'd just be a regular, clean iPhone 5, so no fees or anything. Still, I'd call your Apple store and see what they say first. I think the policy might depend on the story since it really isn't a policy at all. If you explain that other Apple stores are doing it, you'll probably be fine.

I saved my credit card information with express checkout. I added the iPhone I wanted to my cart after choosing carrier and plan. At around 9:45pm est the system allows you to pick a store to pick up your phone but it will say unavailable. I keep clicking on "Locate" until one become available. Then be quick to check out before someone else beats you to it..lol

I guess they set aside a certain number of iPhones for online reservation and keep the rest for walk in purchasing.
 
Grabbed one shortly after 10:30pm central, 32GB White. Dallas (Knox Street). Nothing available elsewhere in the state.

Will exchange the 4s I bought a few days ago out of sheer desperation to get away from my HTC Windows Mobile 6.5 phone. Went to the store last night to exchange that one for a 32GB one. Didn't even realize that model only comes in 16GB. Asked if they had any iPhone 5's. Of course the answer was no. I'll be back to the store in a few hours. :)

I don't know how availability works. I left the store at 9:00pm and 1.5 hours later I'm able to reserve one.

Okay, assuming I put my credit card info on and turn on express checkout and I end up being out at 10 pm, what's the fastest way to get one on an iPad?
 
After trying for 4 nights, last night I was able to secure a Verizon Black 32gb in Southern California! Received e-mail that the phone was ready for pick-up, I just cancelled my Verizon Pre-order.

Use express checkout and make sure all your info is entered on there. Put the model you want in your cart beforehand. Before 10PM, make sure the you selected "Pick Up" and have already entered your zip code. Keep clicking the locate button over and over when it is almost 10, or just be ready to click the locate button as soon as it turns 10. When you find a store, checkout as quickly as possible, and there you go. You got yourself an iPhone 5 :D

So last night I ordered a 32GB Black Verizon - and somehow in my haste (there was stock at every store) I hit the wrong button and made an order to ship the goddamn phone. When I didn't receive an email today - I went to the website and saw that I could expect to receive it in November - NICE.

Well I cancelled the order.

My question to the board - has anyone ever found stock at a store on a Saturday night?

Or are all the phones gone during the day...

I will again try tonight - but I am not holding my breath.

I called Apple, the Apple Store that has my phone and even chatted with a specialist. They told me since my order was already paid for I can pick it up whenever I had time. The told me that if I needed more than 20 days to just call them again to get an extension.

I can't pick up until Tuesday afternoon. Hopefully it's still there...lol..
 
I'm done with the 5...picked up my 64gb today. No data and camera didn't work. I'm sticking with my 4S...**** the 5....my third one and it had nothing to do with scratches or dents.

Do you have all of those models in your cart at the same time? I read a few days ago that by doing that, it only says In Stock if that store has ALL products in your cart. So each store would need to have every white and black 32GB and 64GB model.
 
Got a white 16GB AT&T model!!! :D looks like I was right, every Minnesota store has models in stock.

Does anyone know which email address gets the confirmation email; the billing email or the Apple ID email? I used my dad's email since he's the one picking it up. If I edit my order later on to change the address, will I get the email too? Do I even need it?
