I think it's 10 PM local time of where you live.

It's 9:21 PM (CST), so only 39 minute to go.

that doesn't make sense. if its 10pm local time, then it would be staggered. 10pm est would be live at 10 est, and an hour later would be 10pm cst, then pst...etc.
 
No device only. That sucks. I will just wait till the factory unlocked phone. I don't want to be stuck on a contract. Too much hassle to buy on contract then cancel with AT&T.

Yes, this sucks royally. Makes me want to just go and get a Galaxy S3 and stop being treated like **** by this company.

I'm sure if I was buying 26 phones to ship back to China or wherever I would have had them already. But a loyal long time U.S. customer? Not a chance.
 
I was one of the first people in line this morning at our Apple store and they came out and told us that they would not be selling any iphone 5 today. They said that all the stock that came in would be saved to sell tomorrow to the people that did the online pre-order store pick up and some saved for walk ups.
 
10:25 Eastern time here, still no go on the site -- can't select the option for instore pickup of any model. Sigh.
 
I always wondered if they choose the recipents at random or do they go in the order the reservations where made?! :D

I think they give them to their friends and relatives first. Then they google the names and look for their photos. If they're cute, they get selected next.

i just called and the auto voice told me because of high call volume they wouldnt be able to take my call lol wtf:mad:

been on online chat hold for 28 min now
 
In the US, when a company posts a time it's implied to be Eastern time. You'll notice this on TV. Usually when they advertise a program they'll say a time which is implied to be Eastern and then follow up with another time in another time zone, except for the second time they will say the time zone.

So I guess it means the Apple Stores didn't get any new phones in stock.
 
Wow, I've gotten to the same grayed out Pickup option (here on the East Coast) and then I tried calling Apple CS, and I just got a message that bc of expectedly high call volume, they can't handle my call, then the line went dead. They must be getting slammed right now.:mad:

Gotcha. Is there any way to be certain? I'd like not have to stay up until 1AM :)

Hah that make sense, to be honest the best thing I can suggest is checking with your local store, right now nothing on our site states a time zone

OK. One last question. Do you know if the pickup in-store option is limited to those upgrading?

I'm not eligible for upgrade and I am only interested in buying the phone outright

That should not be a problem, as long as you are able to actually add it to your cart

Finally speaking to a live person. He's not sure what is going on. At first he was telling me that they were sold out. But after a little bit of questioning, he's looking into the problem. On hold again...
