Listen mr. KING KONG: you are so wrong. it was way back in 2006-2007 and much before what you said but not now in todays modern world the most important thing you carry around you or under your pocket is your phone.
it is your personal assistance, it make you to talk to people, check and write emails, check your Facebook and let you comments too, and it let you find your way back while giving you driving directions, you wanna hear more what it can do. let me write what other things I do.
I watch my house with icam , connect my office with Logmein in case a problem or I need a file, carry my all websites password etc in 1password,
in case going for a small party, I prefer not to carry my big canon 5D because I have high quality camera in my phone which can take a good quality picture and video in case I need to,
watch my 5 office remotely with REVO APPS and can listen the conversation in case,
OK now I am bored and wanna listen to my music of 3.8 TB which is in my mac 100 miles away from me, i use AudiGalaxy app to listen to my music with extreme audio quality, and if I can't find a song I wanna hear then I open my Spotify to listen to any songs I want, oh there is a big game coming on TV, so what... I have SLING Media app where I can watch all my channels and even schedule DVR recording too.
so don't ever say that phone is just to make calls. It is the most important thing you carry and use most of in your life these days.
with Regards.....

I don't think you're clear at all.
I know that the iPhone is a computing device with the processing power of an early 1980s Cray Supercomputer.
As a communications device, what you do when it "rings" depends on the type of communication. It could be an audio call, a video call, a short text (with or without media), or an email.
It's a media player which allows you to watch or listen to steaming or stored video or audio.
It's an information retrieval device. If you want to know how many carbs are in the teriyaki shrimp skewers at Red Lobster, you can type (or speak) your query into the phone and in most cases get an answer in a matter of seconds.
It's a gaming console, a still and video camera, an audio recorder, and a flashlight!
I don't know if it's a "way of life", but it definitely makes a difference, when you have this level of computing and information and communication in your pocket or the palm of your hand.
It's such an important invention that the very idea of it was immortalized in stone hundreds of years ago (as this picture I took at the Louvre in Paris proves. I didn't read the title of this piece, but I'm pretty sure it's something like "Youth with iPhone").
Well said......
