Ya stuck in Kentucky here, too. Hope my phone is enjoying their city, as I'd love to be enjoying my phone instead.
Sigh...not looking to have it before the weekend either, since I'm way up here in Canada. And once it does arrive, I still have to drive to a city to get a SIM card!
The upside is my phone will be unlocked while all the rest around here will be stuck in contracts I can drop my carrier if I so choose.

Mine was delivered today, was scheduled for the 28th. Problem is, i'm traveling on business and won't be home until Friday. So UPS will try again tomorrow. And leave another delivery note. Better hope it all works out on Friday..... going to camp out on the front porch.
Your phones are most likely waiting to clear Customs. Not uncommon for this to take a day or more.
Ordered 9/15 with estimated shipping for 10/05 iv received my shipping notification Email from VERIZON with a FEDEX tracking #. Tracking # is not yet showing up in their system tho... What gives!!!! Any ideas?

Finally got the tracking update that it left Korea!!! I was hopIng to get it tomorrow before I leave to go out of town for a week! I guess it might make it on the delivery date of Oct 1 while I'm gone! So annoying!!!!

Delivered a week sooner than promised!
I ordered mine at 5AM on 9/14. (I tried for midnight, only to find my ATT bill had gone past due on the 13th. Really? I paid it at 12:15AM but it took them 5 hours to post it. grrrrr) When I ordered it, the delivery time had slipped to "two weeks" and it was promised for October 5th. OK. So I missed the first batch. It's just a phone after all, right? Right.
I actually did resist the temptation to check order status every day. When I checked on "launch day", 9/21, the delivery date still showed 10/5. I checked again on 9/23, 'cause I couldn't keep myself from doing it and... boy howdy... the phone had shipped from ZhengZhou, China on 9/22. By 9/25 it had made it to Louisville, via Inchon and Anchorage. It was delivered yesterday (9/26) and I've been having philosophical conversations with Siri ever since. The phone is very cool.
For those who worried about your phone being "lost in Kentucky", it looks like UPS doesn't post departure from Louisville until after the shipment hits the next stop, which in my case was Ontario, CA.
An an aside, I've been in the UPS Louisville facility. It's freaking huge. UPS Worldport Louisville seems like it's about a billion square feet of ultra-high-tech scanners, conveyors and data systems. The trans-shipping facility itself is very impressive. That facility is handling the iPhone shipments. The UPS Louisville "pick, pack, and ship" operation, on the other hand is less impressive. This is the group that handles inventory management and distribution. Based on the staff I met there, it's a wonder they can even spell "computer". Think "Deliverance".
Anyway... The phone was delivered a week earlier than promised. Thank you Apple! Way to over-deliver.

As a point of reference, mine hit Louisville at 12:41AM on 9/25 and was delivered in California at 9:52AM on 9/26.
I've noticed that Apple's tracking information no longer indicates where US Customs clearing happens. It used to be you'd see a package sit for a day awaiting Customs in Anchorage or San Francisco. That doesn't happen any more. With companies like Apple, US Customs must clear entire shipments without inspection.
