so a little over 24 hours later, I'm still on Preparing to ship...ordered Sept 27, 32gb version in black, ATT, ordered through apple.com.
Ordered a 64GB iPhone 5 Black/slate yesterday from the Australian Apple Store.
My credit card was immediately charged for AUD999 but the order is still processing.
I assume I'll have a shorter wait because the demand for 64GB should be less.

ATT customer service sucks.... OMG i wanted to switch from verizon to att. So I went to att store and activated a line with my own unlocked gsm windows phone. I went home and tried to buy iphone from apple's website. Apple's website says you do not have upgrade until 2014. Apparently the guy at att store signed me up for a 2 year contract even though I just activated my old unlocked gsm windows phone. I called customer service and they said sorry once you are in contract you can't get new phone until the contract is over. I asked to speek with the manager. Even the manager said the same thing. I asked to speek with his manager. Surprisingly even he said the same thing. Finally I told him that I will walk out of att and go back to verizon. He said give me one day to look at your situation. After two days of fight. I got call from att store that I can go to store and they will order an iphone for me at $199. This is how they welcome new customers.....

Hey I no-longer see the back ordered. What does it mean?
Under back order quantity it was showing 1. Now its 0. Also where status said back ordered, now it says processing.
Do you happen to know if that delivery comes to Sweden as well? I ordered Black 32GB on 30/9.
Ordered White 64GB Outright in Melbourne on October 8th, it's gone "Preparing for Shipment" today just over two weeks later. My original delivery estimate was 2-8 November, but really hoping I get it sooner than that! I wonder when it's likely to go "shipped"?

.What does your shipping method say? If it's standard shipping, it may well take that long... My order says express shipping, it's still processing though... (ordered 9/28, delivers 10/25-10/31).
Also, it depends where it's shipping from. From what I've heard, some European deliveries come from Prague, not directly from China...
Anyway, I hope you get it before 10/29!
The shipping method is express shipping for me as well. The delivery firm is called TNT. I'm not able to locate the parcel on their website yet so maybe the phone hasn't arrived in Europe yet. We'll see I suppose.

I called apple yesterday. They said all orders are upgraded to express even though mine says standard. She said to expect 2-3 days from China. So maybe Friday instead of Monday. ???
Just checked. My says ups worldwide expedited. But that is 4-5 days from Asia.

Switched to shipped early this morning US west coast time. Delivery is scheduled for 10/29, and it is coming via UPS from China.

I will say that the UPS tracking says it is Worldwide expedited...1 week shipping from China is definitely fast...

But you can't check your order status right now. The entire system is down because of the iPad Mini event that is happening in 3 hours...
Anyone around 9/28 get theirs shipped yet?? I have a feeling today is the day for me, but then again I have thought that for the past week with no such luck
Update to my last post.... Just checked order status and qty back ordered went from 1 to 0! Things are happening weeeeeee !!!
