replaced no problem

this happened to my 5s (top right corner of frame pulled backwards slightly). I took it into the apple store and they replaced it without asking a single question.

Omg that happened to me.!!! My mom poked it back in with a butter knife. Everything's fine nowww

I just FIXED mine!

So I had the same problem as you on but on the other side of my phone (the right corner by the camera) after dropping it from waist high. I read this page and another page saying to turn my iPhone upside down on a shirt or towel and press down. I was afraid to do it because I thought that my screen was going to break... but I did it because I didn't want to get dust inside my phone. But I did it and when I pushed down there was a loud POP... IT WORKED and now I have a fixed iPhone 5C!!! I wish I had a picture to attach but I cant take a picture of my phone with my one phone.

If you decide to fix it by yourself like I did, remember to turn your phone off first. :)

Worked for me to lol, but ya gotta use the back teeth as described!! So funny but yep.

Had screen replaced on my 5c foc as it was creaking.. It's doing it again. Basically I now know the cause. Taking the device out of a tight fitting case causes extra pressure on the back and no doubt prising the screen away from the back... Gonna have to live with it.. What phone does this?? I should be able to remove the phone from a case as much as I want without it causing this to happen..

That happened to me too! It popped out at the top right corner after dropping it I guess even though I don't recall dropping it haha. I tried pushing it in but it won't pop back. What did you do?

Update: I bit my phone just to try it out and it popped right back in! It gave me a heart attack when I heard the loud pop but it works again!

funny, I woke up this morning and it took me a few seconds to realize but the entire top half of my phone was popped out, no it doesn't look like the iPhone 5 either, there was the screen & then a bunch of cords behind it, and it wasn't hard to push back in either. I didn't have to used my teeth or put much pressure on it, I've dropped by phone mulitple times but it was sitting on my bed when I woke up so idk how it happened.

I wouldn't attempt to do any work on it yourself or Apple will not offer any help.

I suppose a drop could do this, but it looks more like excessive battery swelling to me.

What he's trying to say is he dropped it and the screen popped out at the corner (lucky it didn't crack it looks flexed) and wanting to know the best route.

My opinion

If you care about warranty take it back and see what you can't get accomplished worst they can say is no which I'm seeing more and more they rarely do unless under obvious circumstances.

If you don't care about warranty (you should) then it is very easily repaired and ifixit.com can get you on your way to having it fixed in no time but the question is will it happen again

Same thing just happend to me!! It dropped and the back of the iPhone popped out.... What if I don't do anything to it and leave it like that?

The same thing just happened to my girlfriend. I have all the tools to fix. I sometimes fix iPhones on the side to make a little extra cash. Looks like a really easy fix, but I'd hate to take it apart to find the battery is swollen. Although, batteries are only like $5 (at least for 4s). Is there any updates on this?

I signed up just to post this. My wife's iPhone had the corner pop out as discussed. I tried squeezing it back in but couldn't apply enough pressure. I wrapped a tea towel around the phone and applied pressure with my teeth (yes I bit it). There was a loud pop as it popped back in place. Good as new.

It happened to my iphone 5c today with the case on but Im too scared to pop it back because the screen bends every time I tries to push it
If i take it to the store how much would it cost to get it fix

You weren't supposed to try to eat it...

Baaaahahaha!!! That smooth cracked me up!!!! Lol!!!

Btw I have a pink 5C... Had the same prob as OP, opted to *not* bite the phone lol.... Just used my thumb & pointer finger, pressed down relatively hard & it's as good as new! Great thread! Very helpful & quite amusing! ^_^ lol

The biting thing does actually work! I was extremely scared to try it, but it worked fine. I suggest putting a bunched up tissue in between your teeth and the phone so you don't crack or dent the phone. That's what I did!

Hi, the same thing actually happened to my iPhone 5c too. I was listening to music wheny phone didn't work, and the screen was messing up. I examined my phone closer to see that it popped out of the casing also. It works, but it had major problems with the screen.

So my white iphone 5c screen has popped out. I never really minded it till the other day when my screen didnt work but my phone was on becasue siri was still talking to me lol. So i tired popping it back into place MUST I REMIND YOU PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT!! When i tried doing it my phone screen completly shattered # so now not only do i have to get the screen replased but the wires inside of the phone has been unpluged. Please whatever you do do not try and put it back in place beacsue you will crack it. Getting it repaced really dont cost that much so just take it in.

I just had to add to this thread to hopefully prevent this from happening to someone else.

My wife's 5c popped out of its case (the corner) once before about 2 years ago. I followed the instructions in this thread, placed it face down on the table, pressed and it popped back in. It was fine.

Last month she dropped it and it happened again. When I tried the same fix it BURST INTO FLAMES!!!! I heard the same pop but a second later SMOKE AND SPARKS SHOT OUT FROM THE SIDE!!! I quickly swiped it off of the table onto the floor where it BURNT AND SMOKED LIKE FIREWORKS for another 10 seconds!!!

I called Apple, freaking out, and even though the phone was a year past it's AppleCare protection plan, Apple replaced it! They said when customers use the phrase 'caught on fire' they take it very seriously and wanted to do an autopsy.

So if you are anywhere near an Apple Store PLEASE don't try to snap it back in yourself! Either way, do a backup before you try anything. Luckily, I had just done one 10 minutes before! Phew!

You're lucky that you didn't suffer any serious damage to yourself or your home. Lucky that Apple replaced it for you too.

I suspect that you may have damaged the battery when you tried to squeeze it back together. Perhaps something got stuck between the case and the battery and when squeezed, it punctured the battery and caused the fire.

Either way, glad you're ok
