I found iTunes saying " congratulations you phone is now unlocked" after doing a dfu restore on the unlocked 5s I bought from an apple store. did u get that message?
I don't remember seeing that on any of my previous unlocked iPhones. this is the same phone that apple care insisted I didn't buy from apple store.
You get that message after every activation or restore.
I have to wait a whole week for a replacement bc of Genius Bar reservation all booked till then.
But my gfs iPhone 5s has zero issues. Keep testing new hardware till u get a non issue one

I spoke to an Apple Tech Supervisor last night and with him providing his direct phone number, I called him back today after doing some testing. He told me that Apple is indeed aware of this issue and has made it a high priority and theyre almost certain that its a software issue with the M7. Should see a fix soon and most likely in version 7.0.3 he said. He said the issue is wide spread and mostly all iphone 5s are affected. By tapping on the level and setting it to 0 does not recalibrate it but only offsets it by the amount its off. If then you flip your phone over 180 degrees, the difference will now be 2x the amount of the offset. If you download the app iHandy Level and place it on a surface and calibrate it to 0 degrees and then flip it 180 degrees, it should still indicate 0 or perfectly level. The Apple supervisor informed me that the sensor is not defective and that it proves that its a software issue with the calibration. I hope this helps.

I sure hope he's right as we've heard different stories from all of them. 7.0.3 was released to carriers and apple employees for testing over a week ago so I'm not confident it would make it in 7.0.3. Guess we will find out next week.

Has anyone tried this yet?
How about the compass?

I am not convinced that a blanket software update will fix all phones, some phones are off by 1 degree some are off by 7, some are unaffected and some reporting drift.
I called AppleCare and they replaced it. The problem is less apparent but still there.
My 5S level is off 4 degrees on a verified level surface. The compass is not just off, but jumps around a lot too. The 4S that this phone replaced did not have these issues.
I am hoping it's something a firmware update can fix. I was hopeful as I had seen some consistency in reports of around 4 degree off of level. But, seeing the recent post above where they got a replacement that is somewhat better, but still not correct, worries the hell out of me about this problem.
