My 5s just arrived, it is a week 42 from F2 factory.

It is off by 4 degrees on the long edge and its back, 1-2 degrees on the short one.

Really hope in a software fix, i don't want to return it now...

Hopefully it'll be fixed tonight... :)

Well, thank goodness that's that cleared up. Thanks for the explanation. Nothing more to say here!

If you go back a few days you will find the answer. People aren't here to hold you hands. Plus it was also on the front page.

My 5s week41 c3 had -3, -1, -1 (back, long, short), a yellow tint screen and a firm sleep button no rattle or wiggle what so ever

My replacement week 42 c3 has -1, 0, -1, nice white screen, but a really loose ratteling sleep button.

My replacement week 41 C3 has -1,-1,0 (back, long, short), white screen and slightly loose sleep button.

They seem to be getting better but I still hope a software fix comes out although I spoke to Apple after sales again and they were happy to send out a 3rd replacement as long as I decide in the next 13 days.

Dont know if theres any point though I suppose -1 is best most of us will get.

No error on compass or level.

The compass should not be checked around any electrical equipment including other phones, computers, etc. Outdoors would be a good start.

The level is set by tapping the screen. Place it on a known level surface and tap the screen. For that matter align it to any angle and tap the screen and it should hold that angle.

I've been holding off buying a 5S until Apple release 7.0.3 (doubt this will happen) or 7.1 (most likely). If they fix the issue in this software update then I'll be straight down to my local Apple store tomorrow to pick up a 5S! If not then I'll just try out the 5C.

Up to you now Apple! You want my £469 or my £549??

The compass has always been sensitive to surrounding electronics and never particularly accurate.

But this thread is more about the gyroscope/accelerometer and the mis-calibrated level which affects games and apps. Taping the level screen only temporarily calibrates the level app. It doesn't hold the value when you exit.

I thought for sure this thread would be at 100 pages now. Apple really doesnt get too concerned about an issue on MR until the issue hits 100 pages. Was looking forward to hearing their solution. Perhaps a $15 case that was 4 degrees off level. :D

I just received a survey from Apple via email regarding my "Recent iPhone Purchase". I've never had one of these after buying an iPhone but I'd definitely love to see the results of "How satisfied are you with your new iPhone?" from the people in this thread! :p

It's really only about 6 pages if you eliminate all the duplicate posts from the same 3 people.

So every time you want to use the level u need a level surface to set the level? What about apps that use the level data?
Maybe you should read the thread before posting.

Looks like the new ipad will have the same chips. I love how they showed someone using their ipad as a level in the video demo. Don't bother with the ipad air unless apple addresses this issue.
