7.0.3 update on 2x iPhone 5s
my first impression:

iphone 5s (#1) that had 1° offset is now matching my iphone 4s (ios6 and level apps)
iphone 5s (#2) which was the replacement and had 2° or more (depending on the app) is still of 1° and has a yellow tint

have to do a few tests with my girlfriends iphone 4s with ios7

preliminary conclusion:
I will keep #1 if I can deal that with apple and still get applecare+

It is just a hunch:
But I have the feeling that hardware issues may not be completely ironed out by THIS particular update.

Is a warranty replacement a brand new retail unit with matching serial number to the retail packaging ?

I also returned my unit within 14 days for refund because Apple didn't communicate and the fact I was told it would not be replaced with a new retail unit if I exchanged at the Genius Bar. Hence the 14 pay point is necessary.

A warranty replacement is a usually a refurbished model in a white box and not a brand new model in a retail box. However, because the 5S has only been out for a month any replacements would be a brand new model (not refurbished) but just in a white box and not in it's retail box.

I guess it's worth a try for those that aren't happy with the -1 offset. I'd personally be happy if I had -3/5 and ended up with -1 after 7.0.3.

I might be willing to live with 1 off, but two of my sides are fluctuating between 1 and 2, which means it's closer to 2 off than 1.

I tested the IHandy level and and calibrating it for the left side still causes it to be off for the right side.

The Clinometer app is still perfect once calibrated, so again Apple screws up.

For people like me that said not to swap and sit tight should be apologizing about right now. Some of you guys went nuts.

But all of the armchair engineers said it was a HARDWARE issue.

No. I got called one for saying it was not hardware and was software, even though I'm an app developer and was able to compensate easily in my own code without user calibration intervention.

So, I'm waiting for the apologies from all those stating software could not fix it...Not holding my breath though :/

My response will be "thought so."

Of course they won't admit they were wrong and will spin an Apple conspiracy theory of it being hardware and Apple playing it off as software and are simply masking a hardware issue.

Any replacement will be refurbished unless they have none in stock. Since the phone just came out there are still no refurbs units. Apple refurbs are the best ones; they look and work like new.

Something has changed, no doubt.

What's interesting is that before 7.0.3 the compass app would be quite slow to read off the numbers. Like you could visibly see them counting down or up to whatever degree it ended up on when you placed your phone down.

After 7.0.3, it's REALLY fast to get its numbers.

Well done, Apple. Well done.

iPhone 5s = best. phone. ever.

Mine was fixed by 7.0.3...Measures 0-degrees along all four edges and on its back. It was off by about 2 degrees.

Oh I understand the situation perfectly well, but these people (you?) couldn't even wait for a software update. NOPE, its a hardware fault! Take it back! This ones faulty as well, take it back again! rant on forums!

All you needed was a little patience. Its nothing to do with spending a lot of money on a premium product. Apple became aware of the issue and worked to adding the fix into 7.0.3. Thats it. No big ordeal. It was just a software issue. Surely waiting for a software update is a simple enough thing to do. Its not like there were 10 updates and the problem still persisted. A little patience would serve you well (and probably reduce stress meaning you'll live a little longer too).

LOL, I got put into suspension twice for pointing this out. Watch out, that mod will get you! Oh, I guarantee Apple just wrote a software code to set everybody's at 0°. Who's lower volume button is coming loose? I looked at mine and all of my coworkers who bought theirs at the same time and all are experiencing problems. Week 38. Significant light bleed after this last update too. Cheers!!

U fix that home button and screen interlacing, best phone ever without a doubt.

I have never seen the screen interlacing, so I can't comment on that. And the home button - I agree - could be less... noisy. But even with those issues (one of which I wish I could see, or... maybe not) it's still the absolute best phone out there.

your lucky you dont see it, It doesnt bother me that much. Just clicking the button and hearing 2-3 clicks after pressing it and letting go is ridiculous. Ive been on the wait list for over a week now. & my Apple store still hasn't received a black replacement 32Gb in 8 business days. Crazy demand.

The Home button should make one sound when you press it, and an approximately equally loud sound when you let go of it. No more than that.

iPhone 5s accelerometer/gyroscope/compass values incorrect

Here's my iPhone 5S with 7.0.3 compared to my iPhone 4S. As you can see it may be better, but it isn't fixed.

The iPhone 5S compass is junk.

When my iPhone 4 shows south the 5S will show east. Not even close. Also after the update I still have the 1 degree problem as well.

Immediately after the update there was an error of less than 1 degree, but over time it seems to have drifted back to 0!

same, but now fixed

Mine was off originally, some side at least 4 degrees, flat was 2-4 degrees. It was annoying.

Now, it is 100% spot on 0,0,0,0,0 all areas.

It's funny, it ZERO's in to say 1 then goes to zero, leading me to think there is a need to absolute stabilization of the accelerometer and even that small movement that might have been there was enough to give it measurement errors.

as of now, it is literally perfect!
