iOS in 16:9 looks gorgeous! Especially with the full screen browser mode in iOS 6.
A lot of people need to prepare themselves for disappointment with this phone.
I wish you were wrong, but I'm afraid you're going to be correct. It looks like quite the oddity.
Nobody wanted an Apple MP3 player
Nobody wanted a touchscreen smartphone
Nobody wanted an enlarged phone called an iPad
Nobody wanted a phone that talked back to you
What do these things have in common? No one wanted them and then everyone copied them, after everyone bought them.
Wrong, bigger screen equals more battery consumedSince only a small part of the battery powers the screen the phone should have a lot more battery life

If that is the next iPhone then I'm jumping ship. I have been screaming for a 4.5-5.5" screen for a long time, so 4" isn't going to cut it. It's a shame because I enjoy the OS but Apple is getting lapped in the hardware department. Not to start a war of iOS vs Android, but if they release this and Android phones continue to make bigger and better phones then I think Apple is making a big mistake. Of course they will sale a lot but their market share is steadily decreasing.
Should be quite easy to pick up a new iPhone on release day, considering how many here are jumping to Android.

Just realized. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't an Al backing interfere with the cellular radios built into the cellphone?
If the new phone is a quad core then it isn't getting LTE.first off if and that's a big if this is the new iPhone then they are just naturally progressing their design. Secondly if this is the new battery for it then you can bet your ass that the new phone will use a different screen tech reasoning not enough bump in juice to handle lte and a larger screen. Also I'm betting of this battery is for the next phone then it probably will feature a quad core processor built on a 32 or 28 nm process to also save on battery.
I think this is why apple always chooses to do a 2 year cycle on hardware to let the current tech mature to a level that it meets their standards and not just rush to have the best specs.
Also since the iPhone 4 and the 4s sales combined are probably now don't quote me in this but I'm figuring the greatest of all time an evolution of this design would be to they're advantage definitely make changes enlarge the screen it looks like the metal band has a gentle taper towards the rear of the phone. Decrease the size of the bezels, give it a metal cover on the rear and who knows what resolution or pixel density this thing will push I mean this thing could be a game changer in terms of clarity and speed.
Honestly though I'm a fan of the design now I could be in the minority I could be in the majority don't know. But for the most part I do like certainly more than the GS3 design. And I'm a fan of that phone.
If the new phone is a quad core then it isn't getting LTE.
but who in their right mind would want an iphone if it really looked like pics above?
I think Sammy came up with a quad core that played nice with LTE... I know its not in the s3 obviously but for some reason I remember reading they came out with a new one. Maybe it was a new Tegra processorof now I'm just rambling... ignore me.

Wait til it's out, suddenly it'll be the best thing ever. I've no problem with the way it looks, for me it's all about the OS and I'm happy with iOS so no need to change.
