You made my point for me. Fix the hardware issues (meaning don't paint the phone in the first place) and I'll consider replacing my 4.please link us to some painted phones than are immune to scratching when not protected. very curious.

I know that Google's free products are based on advertising. Me and 300 million other people continue to use products such as GMail nonetheless and so far the advertising hasn't affected me one bit. I'll take it! But I wouldn't argue with someone who's turned off by the idea of ads being presented to them based on the content of their emails. To each his own.
Of course, Apple does this too and they continue to get in hot water over things like location tracking and personal information collection in their mobile advertising framework. So if this kind of thing is really upsetting to you, then you probably shouldn't be buying Apple devices either.
If Apple is not innovating, so by this definition Samsung isn't either. There is nothing innovative in the S4.
Yeah....right. Despite - the release of the S4 - Apple is still insanely profitable - has $180 billion in the bank and a whole suite of hardware and software and services.
Samsung is a hardware company that relies on Google. Once Google decides to rely less on Samsung for hardware sales - and it will - Samsung will be hamstrung. Samsung's success in the mobile market relies entirely on the quality of the products Google owns and controls. End of story.
The relationship between Samsung and Google is deteriorating.
Google is the real competitor to Apple in mobile software. Not Samsung.
Once everyone has a 5 inch commodity screen and equal processor - Samsung loses its unique position.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Wake me up when the real Apple returns. Probably in fall 2014 but by then it will be too late. I will be a Samsung user.
Google does it on a main purpose. That is the difference.
For some time I see only Apple (and other things I like) related Ads on all pages I enter, coincidence?
I suppose I should have said in the modern tech industry, as comparisons from complete different era's make little sense. Also, I never said he was the greatest innovator, only that his desire and passion to do so were unmatched.
That would be good, but third party routers would have to put in ac for it to be useful.
Unless and until everyone can afford a new phone every year, Apple should NOT release one!Why is it I get the feeling that if Apple doesn't come out with a new form factor every year, a lot of folks on here are going to cry and moan?
Sorry, but not everyone can afford a new phone every year.
a little Andoird HDMI "stick" that plugs into the TV
and if you are on laptop, you have to be logged into your Google account for some services, it doesn't "just happen".
If the body was solid, I could accept an "S" update. But this thing chips paint like nobody's business. Why should I have to wait 2 years before they fix the hardware issues?![]()
When Google discontinues it's service, then it's a shame for everybody even with SGS 4 in pocket..
I got the iP5 a few weeks ago, I needed to add a new iPad 4 LTE on my acccount so I took the discounted iPhone price then put the iPad 4 LTE on that number and moved the iPhone to my regular number. I saved my upgrade(s) as I have a few so I can resell my iP5 this summer and get the iP5S, and then decide next year if the iP6 is worth it or wait for the iP6S and go that route.
Why didn't they make the case titanium like the old PowerBook G4s? It's strong and much lighter than the stainless steel they used in the 4 and 4S.
You are talking about the Galaxy S4, because the iPhone 5S won't likely be thinner, as it's already borderline thin.Thinner, faster processor, better camera, new software features.
Am I talking about the iPhone 5S or the Galaxy S4?
I think you are fooling yourself if you think the reaction to the 5S is anywhere close to that of the 4S. Sure the 4S was the beginning of the disappointment in iPhone releases. The 5 extended it. If this is really the 5S it will take it to a new level.Actually the stock price didn't even hit $500 the last time Apple announced an "S" version of iPhone in late 2011. When the iPhone 4S was announced, Macrumors and the internet were full of people who declared the 4S as a big failure that'll quickly kill Apple in the midst of HTC One X and Galaxy S3. The similar reaction was also observed in 2009 with 3GS.
The more interesting question will be when Apple will be willing to branch out the screen size for a larger model. However who knows if that'll happen concurrently with the iPhone or will slot in later in the year, if at all.
Clearly, apple felt that total profits would be higher using stainless steel compared to using titanium.
Whenever you wonder "Why did Apple..." the answer is always the same. Every single time.
Apple did it because they believed that it would increase total profits. Apple does every single thing that they do because they think that doing so will increase total profits. There is only one reason that Apple does anything that it does: They feel that it will increase total profits.
The maximization of total profits is Apple's one and only ultimate goal. Everything and anything else is a means towards that goal, and not a goal in and of itself.
There is nothing devious or mysterious about why Apple does what it does. It's really pretty simple.
Huh? Brand and model, please. I never heard of anything like that. What sorts of stuff does it do?
Do they come in Chromebook versions, so that your TV can be magically converted into a Chromebook if you use an IR keyboard and mouse? That would be sweet.
You are talking about the Galaxy S4, because the iPhone 5S won't likely be thinner, as it's already borderline thin.
But really, why are you all so black-and-white about this? If you don't like the iPhone for one reason or another, there's more than Samsung. Ever heard of HTC, Sony or Nokia? Ever seen a Sony Xperia Z? It looks like a Sony-style reinterpretation of the Jony-style iPhone 4. A nicely done one.
I'd take that every day over a Galaxy S4.
