I see all the geniuses that mocked gold, then rose gold, as dumb ideas are here. Fact is people are attracted to color but not all people are attracted to the same colors. Why doesn't it make sense for Apple to market colors to specific demographics if that will help sales?

There was certainly some of that going on, people being people express opinions and anything and everything. I happen to like the color on the phones, but for what every reason keep getting silver.

I still have my 5s and I find it a good size for my pocket. I don't believe it should be gender specific. I originally bought the first iPhone because it was a phone and had some additional benefits. My iPad Air2 fits my consumption needs.

It's not gender specific, they're gonna make the space black and silver. They're just making an extra color that lends itself to ladies, which is probably a larger portion of the third of those who haven't upgraded from the 5s. This is just good marketing in my opinion.

What!?? No salmon color?

But seriously, anything has to be better than the salmon colored iPhone. I think something like the one pictured with the story is cute, if you like pink.

I'm just glad people are finally admitting that rose gold is pink. Calling it any sort of gold is the most disingenuous thing Apple has done in a while.

It's not disingenuous. It's just marketing. Every company does when it comes to color.

I worked many years in design and mfg. We did a lot of making up names for colors. Heck, paint companies are the worst offenders.

I again wish that Apple would go nanochromatic on the iPhone. I realize people in the western countries only like like mono colors, but color variety is a big deal in Asian market. Just compare the color selections of PS Vita/NDS in Japan/HK vs US.
Considering growth is coming more on Asia region, I think it's time Apple cater more towards the Asian market. Gold and rose gold are definitely catered towards Asia/China. I want to see orange or green as well.

Having said that, Apple really need to get rid of those antenna bands, or at least color match them. They are ugly, period.

It's such a shame that Apple are always so unwilling to do as Nokia used to do and does so well, and that's make a phone with a changeable back, so you can remove the back and replace it with any custom one of any colour or design you wish.

I doubt it it'll be uglier than this, those white bands, dang, so friggin ugly

Opinions are not facts ;)

Apple keeps digging its own grave deeper and deeper.

Hey remember when people said nobody would buy their gold or rose gold phones? How did that work out?

I have the feeling no one outside MacRumors and media outlets is bothered about antenna bands.

Antenna bands, bezels, phone color...the real world doesn't go nuts over these things. In the real world people just buy iPhones and enjoy them.

Ah, the vocal minority and your over-inflated opinions of yourselves. Love you guys.

Minority really? Everyone I ask, friends/family agrees it's ugly, if you are truly objective and look at it not as an Apple device, there is no way to hide that the prominent white bands on a metal frame take away from the elegance of the device. Think about it, suppose this thing had branding "Samsung" or "Microsoft" would people still see it the same?
[doublepost=1454787085][/doublepost]Be objective please, which one looks better?

but Space Gray, Silver, and Bright Pink is an odd lineup
Then it's true.

Why not to make a phone in a range of appealing colors... White, silver, black, nice green, nice blue, yellow/orange, product RED... Ok, even gold. At least white/silver/black should be a minimum if you're going to release iPhone in different colors.

Instead we get silver, space gray, gold and OMG Rose Gold. Because it's so cool baby. Some rich Chinese and Tim must be loving rose gold. Gimme my gold chain.

Even iPod colors become weirder with every update.

It's tasteless.

makes sense for many reasons..

2- apple have to differentiate it from the 6s line because otherwise the 5se could eat market to the 6s and apple doesn't want this to happen

Even though Tim claims he wants products to fight, we know that isn't true. Personally I hate it when companies handicap one product to drive customers to a product that doesn't really fit their needs.

I think there are lots of people who want the latest features, but in a smaller form factor (and willing to accept the reasonable compromises that come with a smaller form factor). I say reasonable because Apple constantly is limiting software features on older phones when they are widely available in the jail break community.

So in the end, why do we suppose they'll call it the iPhone 5se when it finally is a small iPhone 6?

It will have the iPhone 6 camera, the iPhone 6 processor (or even the iPhone 6s processor?), and probably the iPhone 6/6s design with the curved edges and the power button on the right (which I hate BTW).

So why do they call it the iPhone 5se again?

That rumour made sense when we thought it was going to have a really old processor and I don't know what else, basically when it was really just a pumped up iPhone 5s, but now it makes no sense anymore as the rumours have changed... Finally the 5se will not be a cheap, low entry phone, but just a new iPhone in a 4" format, which is what most of us wanted. Or did I miss something?

Right but if they call it 6se, it'll probably confuse buyers into thinking this is a new flagship product and Apple doesn't want it competing with 6, they want it as an economy/sucky line (unfortunate, because I love 4" form factor).

Well they could call it 6c which would make sense for me, but how is it an economy/suck line now? Because it has the camera from the 6 and not the 6s? Come on guys…
