Apple product are build around the fact to be unisex, so they need to keep it that way.
I see girls with white Samsung S3 and they are ok even with that size but iphone i6 will be even more
Htc One is not so female..in my opinion and i don't see such many females with it

Think that iphone 5.5" will be bigger than a LG G3 that is already big but most 5.5" compact phone..

This.

The LG G3 is a 5.5 inch phone done correctly. I just bought one and it's mostly useable with one hand, but you have to work your grip a lot to avoid dropping it.

The 5.5 iphone will be considerably bigger because of the home button and (most likely) comparatively large side bezels. This will not be a phone for most people, so if it gets delayed I really don't see this being a big deal.

iPhones have always been a bit 'female' and the fact that all the Android devices are now man-sized makes this i5/5S seem even more girlie to me now. I feel a bit embarrassed pulling my i5 out I must admit. It's small and all the women have them...

Only children think like this. No grown man that I know (myself included) cares about the opinion of a child.

I agree. I can't even the imagine the mindset if someone that would look at another mans phone and think it reflects anything more then their choice in electronics. Unless it was pink, bejeweled with rainbow tassels hanging off it and the ring tone was Barbie girl, then I may questions someone's manliness.

I hope Apple releases a 5.5" iPhone, I really like the phablet form factor. Plus, it would fit in my pocket nicely.

I see the appeal of smaller stuff but for me, If a larger screen will make it better for browsing and media in general, bring it on. The one handed thing is the only downside (larger phones can still be pocketable, people seem to be unaware of this until they actually use a large phone) and what's usable with one hand is subjective anyway.

I have never IRL met someone who believes this despite reading someone post it ever week. Maybe they're so insecure that they don't go outdoors?

I bet these guys are probably confused by the absence of a boys/girls section at the Apple and carrier stores.

It's basically a mild troll.

Its been embarrassing for so long, pulling out a little 4 inch phone when everyone else has got 5-5.7 inch phones.

It sounds like your over compensating. :)

Am I the only one that thinks that the 5.5 iphone is vaporware?

It's so unlike Apple and I don't think they are coming out with it.

I'm hoping and thinking that the rumor is true that they are coming out with two different sized phones...Just that it's going to be a 4" and a 4.7".

there's a pretty big customer base that still likes the 4" form factor (like me) and it would be bad to alienate them.

Am I the only one that thinks that the 5.5 iphone is vaporware?

I wouldn't be surprised.

It's going to be a big phone, probably Galaxy Note 3 sized. It will be expensive with all that metal and sapphire-composite screen.

It'll also be a heavy phone compared to other phones it's size, which is the part that seems un-Apple-like to me. I'm having a hard time imagining an iphone that big that won't feel kind of clumsy to handle.

iPhone 6 - 5.5 inch Is A Must

I just agree with a one sense in your entire post - IP 6 5.5 inch will be a must have.
But no - not becouse of screen size, but becouse Apple will screw their users, and force them to buy the bigger brother. How? Just by adding the optical stabilization to the camera.

Is really a bigger screen better? I don't think so. Before purchase of IP 5 I had samsung galaxy S3 with 4.7 screen. Well... I liked the screen size - it was optimal compromise for me, but I definitely loved smaller 4 inch IP 5 display. (Finally I haven't a brick in my pocket -.^ )
Well - smartphone should be small. If this trend won't stop, in few years we'll see 7 inch phones. C'mon - if you need bigger screen, for example for more comfortable web browsing - buy iPad mini or air.
Don't make tablets from smartphones.
Phone should be phone, tablet should be tablet.

Apple never followed others but created new trends. and they shouldn't change that.

Smartphones aren't just a phone though are they? Who wants to have numerous different gadgets when one or two would suffice, ie a phone and a laptop?

44% of smartphones have 5 inch screens or above, but more importantly if we study the rate at which the screen size is increasing on devices being adopted, we this 44% is a lot bigger, as 5 inch and above phones have come out somewhat recently but yet have captured such a large share (even without apple having a single phone above 5 inch). Which ultimately proves 5 inches or above is the screen size to have.

Apple is on record for saying 3.5 inch or 4 inch is apparently the perfect size, numerous times.

So by apple releasing a iphone 6 model with a 4.7 inch screen, it is already, even before release, is not the product the market is demanding. Of course products are subjective to each person however the market and sales of other phones have clearly without doubt dictated 5 inch or above is the benchmark.

By apple releasing a phone below the 5 inch screen size, it is simply counter productive.

But of course I do not care because I will exclusively buy the 5.5 inch.

You can get android phones with quad core processors and 5 inch screens for like £70, a tenth of the price. Why should I buy the 4.7 inch version for £700?

And people who are complaining about the bezel, yes Apple will without doubt release a slim/no bezel iphone one day, but their hardware development team will only allow a number of desirable changes per term, basically the iphone 7, releasing in 2016 will be thinner, with less bezel and we WILL again go and buy it.

Who says bigger is better?
5.0 is better than 4.7?
Also, did you mention something like "quad core processor" found in Android phones?

Take this: specs don't mean everything.

If you're embarrassed about this, you've got bigger problems to worry about.

Im pretty sure apple will announce the 4.7 inch and 5.5 version in september during their long awaited keynote. But the 5.5 is an absolute must.

First let me say if iOS was able to run on other devices (natively) then I would have bought a galaxy note 3 a long time ago and ran iOS on it.

The 4.7 version is not an exciting prospect, one must ask what can a diagonal enlargement of 0.7 inch provide to the end user? Ultimately we will continue using facebook, snapchat, whatsapp etc.

I will be buying a new iPhone soon but I cannot justify 800-900£ of expense on a slightly bigger iPhone, it simply is not worth it. However the 5.5 certainly will be.

Its been embarrassing for so long, pulling out a little 4 inch phone when everyone else has got 5-5.7 inch phones.

Credit to apple, they find a way of making their product desirable after they update the hardware. I really like the macbook air and the pro but im a windows user so I cant buy it unless windows is PROPERLY supported on macs.

However iphone sales will start slowing down. It will get to a point like PCs have where there is enough processing power to do the tasks everyone needs to do, like whatsapp snapchat facebook etc and there is little benefit to be had from additional horsepower unless you are a gamer. Funny how these chinese manufacturers are releasing quadcore 5 inch phones at 10% of the price of say galaxy s5.

The 5.5 inch will be the true flagship device. The 4.7 will always be seen as inferior.

Your embarrassed by the size of a phone? I find that quite pathetic to be honest.

Not everyone wants a giant phone.

If in fact the iPhone is 4'7" this will be the first year since the 3G that I won't own an iPhone.

So no, for me it isn't a must at all. Quite the opposite in fact.

Smartphones aren't just a phone though are they? Who wants to have numerous different gadgets when one or two would suffice, ie a phone and a laptop?

Me.

I don't want to use my phone to listen to music. I have an iPod for that. I don't want it to watch movies. I have a TV for that and an iPad for watching TV on the go.

I don't want to do email and word processing on my phone. I have a laptop for that.

I don't want to play games on my phone (besides a bit of bejewelled) I have Nintendo for that.

I want to use my phone as a contact point. Be that phone calls. SMS. Whatsapp, Facebook etc. that's what I use my phone for to be able to contact people and have them contact me, via whatever means I/they decide. Not as an all round media device.

So you don't really need a cutting edge smartphone, pretty much any phone from the last four years will do all of that.

That's legit. But why on earth would you want an iphone, or any other flagship smartphone when a $60 Nokia Lumia will do the same thing at a tenth of the cost?

I'm a big iPhone fan but I would not buy a 5.5" phone. Maybe even if it was the only iPhone option. I want something bigger but that would be too much for my all day use. 5" would be about max for me.

I hope we seen 4.7" on the iPhone 6 like the rumor mill says.

I don't NEED a phone at all. I want one, and since it's my money I'm lucky enough to be able to buy the phone I want.

Since when do we buy things based solely on what they are needed for and nothing else.

Many things play a factor when we buy something. Looks. Personal preference. Price. If it's a phone, size, functionality, form factor etc.

You can watch TV on a 30 year old black and white. But you don't. You get a large flat screen HD/3D TV instead.

You can get from a to b on a bus, but people buy cars instead.

Just because I want my phone to be a communications device doesn't mean I can't buy a phone I like.

I like the iPhone.

I find it strange that people can't seem to grasp the fact that others use their device differently.

I like the iPhone. Simple.

Why do people buy Audi cars when a second hand Nissan car will do the same for a fraction of the cost?

I'm amused that I'm being treated like I'm less entitled to own an iPhone because I want my phone to be a phone, ie used for communications. Not a media/games/tasks device.

I don't think your car analogy is similar. Cars do the same thing, yet some look nicer/go faster/have a better image etc. With an iPhone, or premium smartphone, you are buying a phone with a host of features you don't need. It's like buying a Swiss Army Knife when all you want is a bottle opener.
