I'm really curious if the design will be slightly altered / fine-tuned with the 6S next year, like with the 5S (though I always found that the slate iPhone 5 looked sexier than the space grey 5S, but the 5S is quite nice too, nonetheless). And the 5S didn't just look different, it had some quite serious improvements like Touch ID. So here's some of my guesses (or hopes, at least :)) that we might see next year:

- they'll make the lines on the back thinner (or they might even implement a technique that'll make it possible to get rid of them for good);
- the camera lens won't be protruding;
- the display will be made entirely of sapphire glass;
- maybe the'll be able to cut back 1-2 millimeters from the thickness of the 5.5" model so it would be the same as that of the 4.7"

We'll see. :rolleyes: Until then I'm rocking with my good old iP5, but I'm happy for you guys who are getting some of these nice new gadgets.

The iPhone 4 design wow'ed me. The iPhone 5 design wow'ed me. The iPhone 6 design did not. And hopefully just a coincidence to think that it is likely the first iPhone that did not get Steve's final OK.

It is a matter of taste and maybe people love this design over any other. I on the other hand don't think it is their best. But I am buying it anyway for the increased screen size, thinness, and other specs.

I think you're right, it is a matter of personal opinion. I personally love it, for one major reason, because it is sort of a throw back (re-imagined update) to the original first-gen iPhone. I wouldn't have minded the big black bar at the bottom like the original too, but that's just me. I don't mind the antenna bars, as it's a minor design cue in comparison to that all-metal design and curved edge display. While the iPhone 4 will still be one that I really admire (I loved that glass back), I like the 6/6 Plus design more than the iPhone 5/5s.

Okay, but to be fair, if you are talking about that woman that walked around the office with the tight jeans and the teeny tiny cutesy pockets - she's an idiot and CNN are morons for even posting that.

If you have pockets like that you accept you chose to have moronic pockets and nothing normal will fit in them. Now please go get a normal person with normal sized pockets.

That's the way a lot of women dress, I don't wear tight pants or anything but in my business pants the 5s is tight in some pants. If you got baggy pants on I can see how this wouldn't be an issue, although with the 6s you can't run with it in your pocket and maybe not even the 6.

Can someone with one of these early phones please, for the love of God, run a God-forsaken geekbench so we can finally put the question of RAM to rest? Or is Apple forcing them all to keep it a secret?

Done. 1GB.

The double tap one-handed mode "feature" is something that many here would have mocked had it been a Samsung feature on a Galaxy model.

In fact, it's so ridiculously gimmicky yet impractical that it's exactly the kind of thing Samsung would do.

nope. samsung's was a weird double-swipe which shrunk down the entire screen, making tap targets much smaller.

you cant know if this is impractical because youve never used it. try harder.

You'll be waiting a while as Anand can't do the reviews anymore cause he was bought out by Apple.

he wasnt bought, he took a job. he is free to leave it any time he chooses.

The sloppiest iPhone design to date.

I can maybe - maybe make my peace with the antenna bands. But the protruding camera is just such a design flaw... Yuck.

They will never do those thick lines.

5.5 doesn't exist, there hasn't been any leaks!

Apple would never make a phone that big.

They will never use the term plus, that's so tacky!

WTF, protruding camera? That's not Apple.

Did I forget some?

And it's a sad day because all that actually happened. Minus the screen size maybe. If they want it let them have it. But bands and camera is a design disaster.

animations slow

Anyone else still think the delay before a transition animation and the animations themselves are still way too slow?

yea some kid said the 5.5" would never be released at the same time as the 4.7" and he said he is never wrong with his apple predictions

I kinda felt like this was aimed at all those women, which admittedly drive a big portion of the market. Still doesn't change the idiocy - they have to know they made a sacrifice.

And if the 5s is tight in some of your pants - those pants are tight. Maybe not skinny jeans tight, but def tight. My pants aren't baggy but they will easily accomodate a 6 plus. The ones that ARE baggy, I won't even notice the plus in them.

By this time pre-launch I had grown to love the iPhone 5 design when I hated it in it's early leak shots.

iPhone 6... I still can't get over those antenna bands. Yick.

Did anyone else see the lag in the screen rotation when he flipped the springboard?

Now that worries me

I kind of interpreted that as he's holding the phone flat and thus it doesn't really respond to movements in the same plane. He had to tip it up more for it to register it should turn.

iPhone Light Saber Edition

I've pre ordered the 6+ because it's the perfect size for running the light saber app

Wommmm.....Wommmm.....Wommmm :D

hope you can lock the rotation to portrait for the home screen without locking for apps like mail and safari

like poster below it was due to him holding it too flat if he held it more at a 90degree it would be a more true test

Exactly! It seemed very buggy to me. And this happened more than a couple of times during his presentation. Hope it was just the way he was holding it, but the first time he even had to shake the phone before it would respond!

They slowed down the video for some reason (the english version anyway)
