When you go online does it say 7 to 10? Just trying to figure out. I ordered early last night and now mine say 10-31 on the preorder.

I screwed up. I removed the phone from the cart and added a 128gb. When I went back to my reservation only the 128gb was there with 3-4 weeks shipping. WTF.

Now I'm considering maybe the smaller phone.

Anyone know what happens if the debit card can't be charged?

I was a bit surprised my order went through at all because my debit card, even though it's US bank issued, has a non-US billing address. That's prevented me from buying stuff from the Apple store before. iTunes store would fail verification etc.

Since it's such a huge PITA I am changing the billing address back to a US address but that takes a few days.

Hoping I'll still get it on the 19th as promised.

I still don't get the craze about the 6+. Have you ever seen a Samsung Note? Have you ever desired a phone that size after seeing it? I mean... it's not a phone... I ordered the 6, perfect size IMO.

I would argue 4/4s is the perfect size

ATT shipping pushed back for order

Still don't understand how i got a "conformation" email from AT&T at 2:48am Eastern which is BEFORE 3:00 am pre-order. And it gives me this!? I am hoping perhaps there is some sort of time stamp or they date could change. Here i thought i was sneaking in lol.

******Apple iPhone 6 Plus - 16GB Preparing to Ship We're preparing to ship your item, and it will be sent to you on or between the shipping dates we've provided. 10/02/14 - 10/13/14* 1

I was also able to place an order at 11:47 for a 6plus 64g and was told 10/2-10/13 hope it shows up Friday?
What a mess this launch was.
I love my apple products but this was a mess

-------

I now have an updated order estimate of 10/13/14-10/22/14 if the phone actually ship at this late date ATT is ****ed. With all the problems they are having they will loose a lot of costumers. I for one am ready to jump ship with all the issues we have had in the past few years.
Order was processed 13 minutes prior to midnight and was charged and a hold on my account within an hour. If it doesn't ship or change status by Monday I think a lot if people will be furious with ATT. If your not going to ship it don't charge the card.?time will tell.
What a mess this release has been.

I messed up on iphone 6+ as well I was able to pickup in San Raphel but when I changed to San Francisco it said was available then when I clicked on it said unavailable. I really did not want to drive on Friday to San Raphel from the city in crazy traffic for just a phone. So I then choose the ship to me option. ANd That dumped me back to Oct 1-6 which does not matter as I will out of the country from the 20-30th anyway. I think it's slipped to 3-4 weeks now.
I really think that Apple was not really ready for the 6+ volume. I would think it would be really hard to make several million phones and not really know what the true demand will be. Look at the 5C they are now giving them away.

Well they are selling them as the exact same price as an unlocked phone in Canada so yes they are are unlocked.:apple:

I wouldn't say so 100%, because T-Mobile jUMP plan isn't available via Apple stores/ online apple store, It may be that the devices for the first few months are locked to T-Mobile and that you have to ask them to issue the unlock.

Last year this dilemma happened with the 5S if you were around.

In the first few days the iPhones were unlocked but then it seemed that T-Mobile had requested to sell the iPhones as T-Mobile Locked iPhones, and required customers to request the unlock via T-Mobile USA and for some it created a hassle and even made some people wait x amount of days before allowing unlock.....(based on comments made on this forum if you search you will find some threads)....possibly to counter the low stock...dunno what the position of stock is this year so might want to double check on that.

In Canada yes the iPhones sold are Unlocked because Apple Store doesn't sell contracted devices or upgrades at the store from what I can see.

I purchased a Verizon iPhone 5S last year for full price, I went to a store outside my city and requested to pay for a Verizon iPhone because I didn't want to renew my contract, this year we bought two iPhone 6/6+ for Verizon and we know they are going to be 100% Factory Unlocked.

One has to order them like this:

Sign up as a new customer for Verizon via Apple.com when ordering, pay the 2 year contract price.

Arrive at AppleStore to pick up and ask them to let you pay in full price, they will let you and you have your self a truly universal iPhone 6/6+ (Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile). --- I learned about this method via searching the forum here.

Should be in your email inbox.

read my reply to another member regarding T-Mobile iPhone being locked/unlocked.

Wonder how many people had problems with the Verizon Business site Friday morning. I have always got up and ordered at 3 am no problems and received the phone on release day. The business site was a total wreck couldn't get through for over 2 hours. By the time it went through I have a delivery date of 10/7. Not very happy.:mad: It's for a 6+ Space Gray 64gb. It looks like the regular 6 is still available on launch day. Don't think Apple or anyone expected that.

^ It may come earlier. People were reporting that ship date 10 minutes into ordering so perhaps that's a buffer.

"Writers" on this site should put a date that the update of their article occurred.

But...but...just five months ago....

Admittedly I thought that a 5.5" screen was just way too big back when the Note came out. At the time I had my iPad and my iPhone so I thought I was golden. Then I started getting newer iPhones and never upgraded my iPad and needed to bring my laptop around for movie watching on planes, in hotels, etc. I think now I'll have a good blend of both worlds having a screen that size and it being a phone. What also "sold" me was the possibility of having the :apple:Watch couple with it next year. As other may have pointed out, Apple sometimes does not come up with an idea (sometimes they do however!) but if they don't, they take something existing and just make it better.

I've used a Galaxy S4 for work previously and I pretty much hated it. Let alone having to use a stylus (which I'd most certainly lose) to use a Galaxy Notes? Sorry Samsung, Apple still winning here in my opinion.

Then there's that...

Thanks for that advice - it's probably one those "hidden" things that Apple seems to do for customers - Ask and yea shall receive....

I don't think it works like that. Not in the beginning. Phones all require activation through a provider unless they are unlocked. Unlocked iPhones generally are released a few months after the locked versions.

Even T-Mobile, even though you pay full price, requires a T-Mobile account to activate. No contract, but still needs an account.

If you pay full price for say an AT&T phone, you can put an AT&T sim in there and it will activate. Putting in a T-Mobile SIM will not activate it however.

Question for Verizon store customers with 9/19 arrivals

When I pre-ordered at 2 AM they said my expected delivery date was mid October.

I checked again and they said that the expected ship date for my order was 9/19.

Now, the tiny kernel of optimism that reality hasn't quite managed to crush says that perhaps that means we might actually *get* our phones on 9/19 and that Verizon doesn't have the plumbing to suggest that the shipping date is before that.

Would someone who pre-ordered and knows that they're getting their phone on 9/19 please let me know what the order status gizmo on Verizon's store says for your order? Or if you've gotten some sort of shipping confirmation e-mail, then that too would confirm that our phones aren't going to arrive Friday.

I asked at the Apple Store today I was told that when I get my T-Mobile iP6 all I have to do is ask to get it unlocked because I am paying full price. Is Mobile GSM? The Apple store employee said it was Verizon is CDMA that's different story That's what an unlocked phone is all about if you want to switch from TMoible or ATT or anotherr GSM carrier you're good to go. I have an unlocked iPhone 5S now and have used it both on Tmobile and AT&T so I have no reason to believe that the iPhone 6 will be any different.

Verizon LTE phones, in addition to being allowed on the Verizon network, are also unlocked to work on GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile. Always.

OTOH, AT&T and T-Mobile phones bought from their respective carrier stores are always locked. No matter if you paid $200 or $650. And getting them unlocked requires negotiating and persistence.

Bottom line, if you buy an "unlocked" GSM iPhone 6, make sure you verify it's actually unlocked well before you need it to work with another carrier's SIM card.

Well Bottom line the Apple Employee said my iP6 will be unlocked (because I am paying FULL price) if I ask for it. It seems that Apple has trained staff about this question because she answered it right away.

Well, never mind. I checked Verizon again today and now it's 10/7.

I got my T-Moible iP6 and put in my US AT&T sim and the it worked so it's indeed unlocked. Going to try a a Vodaphone Sim here in the UK in the next couple of days but I expect to work without issue as well.

Yup. All over Reddit too. The T-Mobile iPhones sold by Apple are factory unlocked. End of story. Still waiting for mine to make its way over here to SE Asia from the USA.... ugh...
