I guess I was one of the lucky ones.

I had both the Apple Store and ATT's page up at the same time at 11:55PST. Both were auto-refreshing.

Apple's page never did come up for me. About 12:05 ATT's changed to something like "opening the door for you" (I was really tired and don't remember exactly), then refreshed a few times and I got the order page. I had both the NEXT plan and the 2 Year plan available, so I made my selections and submitted my order.

My confirmation E-Mail didn't arrive until this morning though.

One thing that might have helped in my situation (as someone else mentioned) is that I have Premier status due to the discount I get through my company. I suspect this might have made a difference as opposed to Standard Joe User placing an order. At least, that's what I'm going to hypothesize.

One other nice thing is that I'm going to be traveling out of town on the 19th to see my parents. ATT allowed me to have it delivered there so it'll be waiting for me when I arrive that night. Apple didn't let me change the destination last time (IP5).

I did an online order for the same at ATT at about 5 after 3 Eastern, so it was a really early order, which has an estimated ship date of 10/31-11/5, which is BS. I'm hoping it's a really bad estimate.

Are you going to show up to an att or apple store that morning to try to get one? Do you think ATT would even have any for sale at launch?

If you don't mind me asking who canceled it and when was it canceled? Right now I don't want to cancel any of my orders because I don't have any confirmation of when things are coming (AT&T) or my order showing up on a website (Apple). I have confirmation emails from both AT&T and Apple.

AT&T Rep. apparently couldn't do anything and told me to canceled the one I didn't want but said orders were filled on availability so why would I cancel and lessen my chances of getting one..?

it was auto cancelled once the upgrade is processed. When another order tries to get processed it sees i am no longer eligible for an upgrade and kicks it out.

Yes, assuming there is stock within 14 days.

So what is the significance of att charging your credit card the full amount. what is their policy on that, does this mean that it will ship out soon if they do in fact charge. cause it would hardly seem fair for them to charge me the full amount, then ship it out a month later.

They authorize it on your card, i.e. hold the funds but do not actually capture the funds. Even if you cancel it takes approx 3 days to void the auth. So while they aren't taking the money officially, they are holding on to the ability to charge it.

...Evidently demand for the Plus version is super high. Don't know if Apple manufactured less of them than the standard 4.7" one in this initial batch or if it is just an overwhelming desirable one to have and the vast majority are ordering it affecting a healthy initial stock that maybe Apple did produce...

Apple DID underestimate the demand for the Plus (especially in the U.S.), however battery issues led to a delay in the 6+ production which is the biggest reason for the shortage.

WTF - I just got the confirmation email from AT&T for my order from 3:05am EST and it says:

WTF ... they never mentioned that they don't have any of those (don't think they can have been sold out that fast .... anyone got the same model,color,size and got it earlier ???? ). They should have said it on the web page - than I would have tried on the apple site.

AT&T did not have ANY iPhone 6 Plus for launch day. Even 11 minutes BEFORE midnight (Pacific Time) the website stated: "...will ship in 14-21 days". ATT's site stated this for ALL colors and capacities of the 6+ from the very beginning. The ship dates only got worse. I don't blame you for missing the message since it was below the preorder button (see attachment)...plus you were probably tired at 3 AM

I did. I was able to get a reservation because of an error lats night and ordered today. Delivery date next fri.

I order a second phone for myself (first was for the wife), however mine ships in 7-10 days. Except now I'm thinking, since I'm waiting anyway, why not get the 128gb. But not sure I'll use that space. Anyone? If you ordered 128, why?

I mean I'm getting rid of my ipad, I have some movies and some shows I like to watch. I have 20gb left out of 64.. For some reason wanting 128gb, but not sure I need it.

Yes, I ordered a 6 64GB through Verizon early this morning and am showing delivery date of the 19th. I had a few questions about changing my plan too, so I called Verizon this afternoon and the rep told me her system also showed a delivery date of the 19th. I did the exact same thing for the 5, and it showed up on the release day, so I'm hopeful.

I find that freaking odd when I order my last night at 2:30 AM (my usual bedtime anyway) and walk in the Fan Francisco store and pick it up next Friday. I just don't get the line up thing.

Why 128 GB I travel lots internet is expensive @ 40,000 feet. So it's nice to have the space. Plus those 40 MP Panorama shots are going to take a lot room not the mention the burst mode.

Also on Apple's site it still shows the 6's available for 9/19 delivery while the Plus's are slipping to 3-4 weeks. Less inventory on the Plus or higher demand then anticipated?

Maybe both? It was rumored that the supply would be tighter on the larger model anyway. Plus the specs are a little greater on the 6 Plus anyway.

Unless Apple / T-mobile has changed how this works since last year, when purchasing a T-mobile iPhone 5S from Apple last year, full retail price, it did not come unlocked, it was locked to T-mobile.

Legally, T-Mobile is not supposed to lock phones purchased at full retail. There is a new law that has passed that prevents this. If you purchased your device full retail, contact customer care to have it unlocked.

Legally, T-Mobile is not supposed to lock phones purchased at full retail. There is a new law that has passed that prevents this. If you purchased your device full retail, contact customer care to have it unlocked.

I purchased T-Mobile 5s last year and used with tmobile sim card. However, when I traveled out of country, I didn't have to contact tmobile customer service to unlock the phone. I think it would be unlocked once you activated the phone with tmobile sim card.

Anyone know what happens if the debit card can't be charged?

I was a bit surprised my order went through at all because my debit card, even though it's US bank issued, has a non-US billing address. That's prevented me from buying stuff from the Apple store before. iTunes store would fail verification etc.

Since it's such a huge PITA I am changing the billing address back to a US address but that takes a few days.

Hoping I'll still get it on the 19th as promised.

I still don't get the craze about the 6+. Have you ever seen a Samsung Note? Have you ever desired a phone that size after seeing it? I mean... it's not a phone... I ordered the 6, perfect size IMO.
