My first iPhone
Had some luck and got my very first iPhone yesterday (ordered on friday). Changed from Lumia 920 which to I got fed up because of the lack of apps, lag in apps and overall usage. For example, Evernote on WP seemed just unusable. Like the headphone port - the amount of (sometimes uneven) background noise was phenomenal. ..Maybe it's faulty, but according to test found online the audio its headphone jack delivers is just.. bad.
So according to few days usage, what I like and hate in my Space Grey, 64GB iPhone 6 (in someway compared to Lumia 920):
Like:
- Quality of apps (and App Store / iTunes)
- Amount of quality apps
- Amount of apps I need (= everyone of those)
- Quality of photos and videos + the speed of the camera
- Quality of audio output and screen
- TouchID
- iOS, Handsoff, continuity & all(most) of that
specific stuff. (iCloud, Keychain etc. etc.)
- Doesn't feel as slippery as 920 even it's thinner.*
- Build quality, design, size
Exactly the size of the screen have been one reasons for me not to get an iPhone.
Hate:
- Included EarPods doesn't fit my ears. (but yeah, I wasn't included in the compatibility list anyway)
- I can't buy AppleCare for it (it's just not available)
- Here in Finland, there's no individual repair system for screens, so it costs as much as any out-of-warranty repair (except batteries) - around 400 euros
- All the stuff about bendgate makes me hysterical.
Took me some time to choose which phone I would buy. Was thinking about Note 3 or some other "high-end" android, but I didn't mind about going back to Android and the few hundred extra didn't seem too much. I don't mind about closed system because it has nothing to do with my ability to use these devices. For now I'm fine with the device and if it just stays unbend I'm pretty sure I bought the best phone I could imagine (for my use ofc). And what comes to my headphones/IEMs, iPhone 6 sounds to be a perfect fit with Logitech's UE 600vi's.
These things are just about your own usage and needs, not about price tags and specs - which seems best for you is best for you, at some point the few 100 extra will pay itself.
*The reason for that might be my (according to complaints of the size of iPhone 6) gigantic hands that doesn't really (that much) touch the back of the device, but the sides instead.
