I love how thin the iPhone 5s is. Its almost perfect! However, the battery life could be way better than it is.

Someone did bring up a good point about them thinning the phone out to much and it being easy to break. Its a good point. When I first got my iPhone 5s and carried it with out a case for the first 2 weeks, I babied the thing because of how light and thin it was. When I had it in my left front pocket it wasn't noticeable like the iPhone 4 was. I always had to reach down and feel for it to make sure it was still in there. Now I have an Otter Box case on it, "which I like" but at some point I will take it off and carry the phone with out a case.

Quick hack.

For those who are not a fan of apple going "thinner", you just have to realize that having it being thinner helps make the phone look less bulky when being placed in a case.

I'm thinking the iPhone 6 is literally going to be amazingly thin (no hyperbole). Can't wait! :D

Let's all hope those dimensions aren't accurate. For a 4.7" display, this would be even larger than the One M7, which had the same display size and tons of extra space on the front. That suggests the bezels would be even larger, not smaller...

I haven't seen ONE single comment about the iPhone being too thick.. However I've seen tons of comments saying that the battery life suck. So Apple, doesn't that leave a hint what people really want?....

No, not really. People aren't going to complain about something that was improved, while the feature that remains static is prime for attack.

But think about it for a moment. How much better would a phone battery have to be to make a meaningful difference for the average user? Probably multiple days of use, if not an entire week. Everyone already charges their phone once a day, every day, when they go to bed; it doesn't make sense to shoot for more than one day's worth of battery.

Thickness, on the other hand, is an easy way to compete and differentiate. Apple has slowly built their brand name on "thin." Nobody can make a phone as thin as Apple without making sacrifices.

They can put antenna in the apple logo, can't wait for this iphone to be unveiled.

I spam that page as often as I can. If Apple could make an iPhone Paper with 8 hours of battery life or a phone twice as thick with 16 hours of battery life, Apple would choose the thinner device.

I agree, I don't care about the thinness at least not to the extend Apple is doing it. Freaking double the battery life and I will much happier...

Actually given the choice, I am willing to bet the vast majority will take a phone with double the battery life of the Iphone 5s versus a thinner iphone.

6mm PLUS a glass faceplate that protrudes (as it does on the iPhone 4 and 5 lines, but maybe without the plastic rim) would make a total thickness greater than 6 mm. That picture shows 6mm for the metal alone, it seems.

Thin could be cool--one aspect of a nice-looking and exciting design, and easier to squeeze out of my front pocket. I WOULD like thin, but I don't care about it very much. Minor point for me.

Battery life? Equally minor. I've never run out of battery, and come close only a coupe of times which were caused by software issues. I see ZERO need (for my own use) for a bigger battery. And yet, a bigger screen does make room for more battery. making up for a thinner one--achieving the same or better battery life. Apple is NOT going to reduce battery life just for thinness. They may go very thin, but only IF battery life can be maintained.

For those who do want a thicker phone and longer battery life (which I can certainly understand), a battery case achieves both.

As a pocket user, I'd prefer Apple's "long" design as a way to fit battery, vs. the traditional Android "thick" method. Plus, you end up far better off than my Android friends who can't make it to 5 pm because "openness" has let all kinds of crazy unwanted stuff run unchecked on their devices.

So again those big bezel top and bottom, too big for 2014 and lets dont forget even for 2015 because Apple will stick with the design 2 years

so this rumour is related with the battery rumour (that apple wants 1mm thinner battery)

Most people would rather more battery... However Apple isn't just a software company, they are a hardware company who's engineering team takes deep pride in making things slimmer; truth be known making things slimmer as an engineer is something to take pride in and is a feat in engineering however from the customer perspective we don't care or necessarily want it. Apple has an arrogance within their engineering because honestly they do have some of the top engineers in the world; this arrogance often leads them to ignoring what might be best for the customer just so they as a company has bragging rights... it's been shown time and time again. This will be no different.

Yup, slimmer and taller, just what people want... a phone that looks like an elongated clown shoe.

Can someone make them stop the thin-race and get a battery-life of at least 3-4 days on normal use! Pretty please!

Given Apples recent emphasis on the Environment page, I highly doubt we will see Apple stuff bigger and bigger batteries in their products in an effort to increase battery life. Apples answer to making the battery life better will be through their CPU/hardware design and efficiency, not by stuffing in larger batteries.

What we really need is a breakthrough in battery chemistry. We don't need bigger versions of the same old Lithium-polymer technology, we need an entirely new method for storing energy. Something safer, more efficient, and longer lasting. Battery technology will continue to hold back the potential of these mobile miracles in our pockets.

basically the new iphone is a big ipod touch with 3g antenna.. now i want colors too! :p

That big bulky case could also be a battery pack to extend your usage.

so much for choosing non-removable battery to make the device thinner.. meh

Um, when the phone lasts for all of 5.5-6 hours of usage, even an hour or two of extra life would make for a huge and perceptible difference.

I hope Apple doesn't make the mistake of putting the power button on the side of the phone, opposite of the volume button(s). I have a GS4 and am constantly pressing the power button accidentally when adjusting the volume, and vice versa. It's a horrible design!

It doesn't make any sense to have a phone that can't even last a whole complete day in real life full usage. If yours can last a complete day, you probably don't use it a lot. Try to call 3 or 4 hours a day, use the GPS, Wifi and get some emails, etc... and let me know how long it will last.

And a lot of people that work, travel and move a lot with their phone, would love to have a phone that don't need to be charged every day or every night. It's always a real PITA to find a solution to be able to charge it in the middle of your work/trip day.

Without any doubts, I would easily prefer the next iPhone to be as thick as the iPhone 1, 3GS or even 4... if I can get more than a day. And yes, a whole week would be great.

We don't need a phone as thin as a credit card.
