Apple is starting to follow the market trends, not create them;
And make things that people want, not make people want what they make.
Sad... I really hope these are all not true.

Who cares? The OS will still run like butter.

I'm pretty tired of Safari on my iPhone 5 always dumping my webpages. While on the train, I'll load 2 or 3 sites in the background. But by the time I get to them in the tunnel, it attempts to reload...Or am I misinterpreting the issue?

Sad... I really hope these are all not true.

When the competitors are pre-emptively making smart watches and releasing phones with personality-embued voice assistants, gold chamfers, and fingerprint readers, I'll forgive Apple for being late to the big screen game.

Isn't the A7 grossly over powered? What's the point go an A8?

It's 1 better

----------

I always thought my ipod touch 5 gen, looks and feels better than the iphone 5s and it looks like that is the form factor Apple will adopt. If so then it will be a stupendous hit.

Can they make the cell radio work in a solid aluminum slab? The original iphone had the plastic section, and the iPads all have plastic section if they have LTE in them.

Meh. There would be no need to move the sleep/wake button if Apple would permit an app that allows users to lock the screen with a mere touch of the app icon, such as I have installed on my Galaxy Note 3.

Apple could even include it lock app as a default app that is pre-installed in iOS, and conveniently placed in the bottom right hand corner. But I'm sure that deviates from Apple's stringent views on how their hardware should be operated.

"Finally, Kuo expects production of the iPhone 4s and 4 to be ended"

I'm still trying to get a new phone for free from Apple.... These guys can't stick to their guns..

The higher 401 ppi seems good but the "waters are mudding"

Just when i get used to where the sleep/wake button is, Apple upsets us all.

So what else is new.

All i can say is, try sticking that iPhone 6 in ya shirt pocket or carry it in one hand if you have small hands like me.

(That feels so un-nerving on an Apple forum) *shudders*

Makes zero sense they would have the smaller phone be much lower PPI. Especially how the Smaller iPad has higher PPI and the same resolution.

I'll bet anything they're both the same resolution.

And 1 GB of RAM? Disgusting. What ever is causing the safari reload issues needs to go, I'm guessing it's RAM.

I would make three models and dismiss the current lineup:

- iPhone 6: 4.5" 1280x720: 320 ppi, same ppi as current iPhone, new "optimal size for productivity and comfortable one-handed usage" (ever heard somebody with a Moto G complain for one-handed usage? Me neither), also effortlessly compatible with old apps (just a little bezel is added from 1366x640 old apps), replace iPhone 5 and 5s, smooth and future-proof enough with A8 CPU and 2GB RAM.
$199-16GB, $299-32 GB, $399-64GB, on contract.
- iPhone 6 Pro: 6" 2560x1440: 490 ppi, new "maximum size for pocketability", made as a flagship to fend off competition with killer specs and pro features. Applications effortlessly scalable from 1280x720, plus "Pro apps" to take advantage of massive "Desktop class" A8X and 4GB RAM. Screen can split into four 3" 720p squares to show off quad-multitasking from brutal CPU, fandroids commit harakiri.
$499-32GB, $599-64GB, $699-128GB, on contract.
- Lastly, iPhone 6 Air with same guts as iPhone 6 (A8, 2GB RAM), and 4" screen. Lighter due to smaller dimension (mostly marketing), resolution and chassis from iPhone 5C. Available in black or white (please no salmon pink).
$0-8GB, $99-16GB, on contract.

I'll buy the 5.5" if it means I'll get significantly longer battery life.

Track Record: Ming Chi-Kuo

In his 2013 guidance, he pretty much nailed the 5S. His dimensions were exact, as were the chip and fingerprint sensor. He missed on the camera, expecting a 2.0 while it came in at 2.2. He also missed on the battery, expecting 1600maH while it came in at 1440. So he isn't perfect in his predictions on the Iphone 6, but he gets pretty close on most of the stuff. I would give him about a 90% believability index. He waffles a little on the sapphire for the Iphone 6, 4.7inch. He doesn't say it definitely won't have it. Probably because the manufacturing output of GT hasn't been ramped up enough yet. His predictions are better than just about anyone else.

1334x750 resolution doesn't make any sense. Display dimensions in pixels are always multiples of 16 (or 8 at least), but 1334 and 750 are not. If Kuo knew anything about displays, he wouldn't suggest these bogus numbers. More likely resolutions are 1344x756 (328 ppi) or 1368x768 (333 ppi).
Alternatively, if Apple prefers to stick to 326 ppi as in current iPhone displays, 1344x756 screen will be 4.73" diagonal.

Also, the claim that Apple will "finally" include NFC is another good reason to take his other claims with a good chunk of salt.

Making a 5.5" phone would kill the rMini's forte. I mean, that would be stupid of Apple. I need my small iPhone and I need my rMini. A 5.5 inch iPhone would take place of both for me.

I am so tired of Apple trying to make things thinner. Keep the same thickness and improve battery life.

Yes, and if you read it, you'd know that the iPhone 6 will have better battery life "The 5.5" iPhone will also see a significantly larger battery -- 50% to 70% more watt-hours than the iPhone 5s."

What I want, is an iPhone in the physical dimensions of the 5s with a smaller bezel and a slightly bigger screen with sapphire glass .. An improved battery and 2GBs of RAM ..

If I had wanted a 4.7'' screen I would have switched to Android by now .. Hopefully Apple won't change its philosophy just for the sake of a bigger market share ..

P.s. iPhone user since 2007 btw and iPhone 4 owner since 2010 .. I'm eagerly awaiting for the iPhone 6, but if the rumors posted yesterday become reality in the future I may opt for an iPhone 5s in September ..

Thank god, the one thing about HTC phones (I just got the new One M8) that I can't stand is the large device with the power button on top. WHY? Our hands don't fit like that.

lol i am still not used to the power button being on the side of my nexus 4 after almost a year. too used to it being on top i guess

It simply to keep developers from getting lazy, Apple wants to make sure apps stay just as good on an iPhone 5 as an iPhone 6 and don't get so ram intensive that they make the battery life get even worse.

Then they should stop being lazy themselves; Safari reloads tabs due to RAM constraints all the time. My biggest complaint about iOS by far.

Guessing the 5s dimensions wasn't exactly rocket science, was it? Anyone could've told you them a week after the iPhone 5 launched...

Apple doubles the ram every two generations. I'm pretty sure that they will do the same with iPhone 6/6S.

iPhone 4/4S - 512 MB Ram
iPhone 5/5S - 1GB Ram
iPhone 6/6S - 2GB Ram
