Going to apple store tonight with these three dead.

Anyone get any push back from the genius's regarding these issues?

My question is, if I were to go into an Apple store tomorrow to buy an iphone 6, and I asked them to show it me *BEFORE* I bought it to make sure it was 100% perfect with no dead pixels would they let me? Or do I have to risk buying it, take it home first to find out it has dead pixels and need to return to the store again and again until I get a flawless one? Which they then might refuse to replace (because not all companies replace for a single dead pixel)

The nearest Apple store is 2 hours away from me :\

Surely it would be easier if they let you open the box check it's flawless then pay for it there and then. If it was found to not be flawless then it shouldn't be on sale anyway. Would save a lot of hassle for everyone tbh..

And then as well as dead pixels there is the possibility of dust under the screen, or even hot pixels in the camera sensor etc..

I don't like the idea of gambling with £700.. just want to buy a perfect phone, in a flawless condition without having to return it multiple times!

can't open it without buying it, you can always ask him to wait and look it over while your there then exchange if you find problems.

Had 3 6's - all with pixel issues - first 2 dead, third one stuck red. Took them all back got a refund. Bought a 6+. Screen perfect but glass scuffed. Tried again - so far this one seems fine.

All the 6's were from factory C3 so maybe a dodgy batch of screens.

Wonder if I find any in my replacement, if AppleCare over the phone will cover and it'll cost me one of the 2 replacements. Dumb Applestore is 40 min away.

I just had my 6 plus replaced this afternoon for a stuck pixel, he just wanted to see it to verify it had one and brought out another one for me right away.

If they don't replace, return for refund. Pretty simple, as everyone here is still within 14 days return period.

Going in tomorrow to get my 6 replaced...stuck pixel just below the time

They replaced it. New phone has no dead pixels and no yellow screen. It's more towards the blueish hue, but I love it. It's sharper as well, text on my yellowish screen was slightly blurred. It gave me headaches reading the text more than a few minutes-this is on native apps and apps optimized for the 6.

What I noticed as I walked around and compared my phone to the 8 6's that were on display is there is a HUGE disparity in screen qualities. I put all the demo 6's and my phone on the same brightness, turned off bold, larger text, etc. Some were very washed out and the colors looked very dulled, others looked yellow like the unit I returned, others were warmer and bluish, some were not as bright as others, etc.

I am not saying something we all don't know, but it seems at this point in the game, they should be able to mass produce lcd displays with a more consistent appearance.

When I saw this thread this last Sunday it made me check out my iPhone and I noticed a ****ing screen defect. I don't know if it's a dead pixel or a small speck of debris underneath the glass, but I don't think I can be too picky with a $850 device. I've got a genius appointment this evening.

If you pay $30,000 for a brand new car, are you going to drive out the dealership with a dent on the side door? No, you're going to get it fixed.

Same way, if you're paying upwards of $500 or more, you're going to want it without any anomalies.

That's not a dent, that's a miniature clear coat scratch on the bottom of the front bumper.

Pics?

I wish I could provide some. I tried to take a couple with my iPhone 5S before I sold it, but it couldn't go macro enough. I don't really have anything capable of taking a pic. It's a very small black spec in the bottom right of the display towards the right edge. I would say it's a dead pixel, but I don't know if that should be visible with the display off. I can see the affected area if I shine a flashlight on the display when it is off. It's not the same color as when the display is on, I don't think, but it looks different.

Received my replacement today, and.... It's perfect! No issues at all and the screen didn't have that yellow tint like my first one did

So I have a black spot on my screen, not sure if it's a dead pixel or some dust under the glass, but it definitely doesn't come off if I try to wipe it away! In reality it's tiny, but now I know it's there, it's annoying me. Is it the sort of thing I can just walk in to a store with and swap for a replacement? I ordered it from Apple online so don't have an actual store receipt (I have the email receipt).

Pictures attached.

Definitely a dead pixel.

Thanks for the quick reply! So if I turn up at an Apple Store with it, is it likely that they will just replace it with a new handset? I've not even had it for a full week yet :(

Yeah. Generally you need to make an appointment at the genius bar and they should give you a white box replacement (it will be a new phone since it is too soon to get a refurb right now)

That's a relief. Guess I'll be driving up to my nearest store on Saturday. How would I go about booking a Genius appointment (I haven't had to do this before)?

If I've had my 6 plus for over 14 days and now notice dead pixels will they still replace it with a new one? I don't have applecare.

And could Apple charge by just simply looking at it in an Apple store? According to this, "There may be a charge for the evaluation."

I have about 4 dead pixels on mine.

And is this true... "Apple is willing to replace any display, no matter how few anomalies it’s presenting. But if the replacement unit happens to be plagued with more dark or light sub-pixels still within acceptable range, they’re not going to replace it again." from here.

If you have the apple store app, you can reserve an appointment from there.

All iPhones come with a 1 year full warranty from manufacturing defects. You'll have to make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have it looked at but generally, Apple happily replaces phones that have any pixel-related issues.

Ok. Would I just need to bring the phone or all the accessories and box it came with? Do I get to keep the original box?
