True but I don't think your statement applies to all. I would want my money's worth regardless of my income.
But you also have to factor in opportunity cost as well. Time spent going to an Apple store or calling Apple, exchanging and setting up a new phone, potentially mailing the other one back (if done over the phone), worrying that the shipment made it back to Apple and you won't get charged for it, general stress and time spent on the situation. Potentially ending up with a replacement that has more issues or worse in some other ways is another kicker to add to it all. So it can certainly be different for different people depending on their situation and the particular issues they might be noticing.

If you're spending over $649+ on a phone, might as well make sure the phone is 100% perfect.
Most computer displays, some of which cost thousands, only have dead pixel warranties if there are a certain number of dead pixels, typically around 8.

I bet apple is probably the same way, but if you are within your return period it is easier to just replace the phone. I cannot see them replacing a 4 month old phone for 1 dead pixel.

Typically in situations like that they would replace the screen if they can, but often enough they might still just swap the phone as that might be still simpler for them.

Some people just try too hard to find faults in a phone. I mean, come on, its just one dot. If you buy a car and you see dust in your odometer, you gonna change the car as well?

Ideally yes, but too bad exchanging is non-existent in the automobile industry.

Hi Guys, reading some of the comments about the frequency of dead pixels for iPhone 6 in particular, after speaking with my contact in China, basically the problem is just plain material quality, the main supplier is Foxconn, but there are others and they seem to be having large number of returns due to this anomoly. Here in Italy, one customer had 4 devices replaced by the Apple store he used, all with LCD defects. From what I gather they just swapped the phone to save from having the customer wait for a replacement LCD. As for the 6+, looks like they have a better track record as they have had a lower % of defects. Hope this helps

I have black dead pixels on my new iPhone 6s and few brighter points on screen . Apple refuse replace device on new just offer repair on my brand new phone . New iPhone 6s use poor quality displays . I never have similar problem on oled display . Shame Apple

I am so scared I get this stuff.. haha. I am running to my devices and double checking them all.
The downside of expensive toys that we want to be perfect eyh :)

Are you within the 14 day return period? If so, return for refund. Stuck pixels suck. That's definitely a defect I couldn't live with.

I also have a dead pixel on my ipad mini 2 i have a appointment today to check it out, it's my last day for my apple care+. Either they change the screen or give me a refurbish unit I absolutely have no problem with that.

Finally Apple replace device on almost new and after I back home find another two dead pixels . So I sell my device on eBay and back to old one.

I couldn't resist posting on this 2 year old forum, but I've just discovered my iPhone 6 from launch day (over 3 years old now) has at least 50 stuck pixels (No dead pixels, just stuck green or red)! These are mainly in the top right section of the display. I've use the phone every day, and for at least a year I set auto lock to "NEVER", the iPhone 6 is also rather flexible/ very easily warped so I'm sure that has played a part in the LCD damage. I only noticed because I made the screen black in a dark room to compare it to an iPhone X, then saw loads of tiny green dots!

Just thought I'd add this here, I wont be replacing the screen or contacting apple, you cant see them unless the screen is full brightness and showing a black image. That said, the quality must be fairly poor of either the LCD or structure of the phone, for me to count at least 50 coloured dots on a black screen only after 3 years. :) photos:
