Whatever lag may or may not exist on the 6+, or the Air or the Retina mini (I have all three) it's far better than how long it takes to get a windows Pc to working once you've turned it on.........

you have to be very sensitive to stutters and lag but it's noticeable.

It didn't annoy me but my 5s is faster.

Not only is the lag annoying, the multitasking is bad too. With 2-3 recent apps open, going back to the next most recent app causes it to be reloaded. And it has the same problem with safari tabs as my iPad air. Luckily my iPhone 5 didn't sell on eBay because I'm most likely going back to that and see how this all plays out in the next month or two.

Dunno how else to put it: the same tasks that lag on the +, do not on the 6.

The lag may not be bad for most users (the same ones who think they have a "perfect" phone until an OCDer finds 20 things wrong in seconds) but the issue is a hardware one, and even if it doesn't bother you, it's there.

It's not a broken phone. It's the "desktop class" scaler.

About the only thing the + has going for it over the 6 at this point is .8" of screen size. You make lots of compromises to get it too.

Pass. Maybe the 6S+ will fix it

Smartest thing said on this forum, most 6+ owners think there phone is miles ahead of the iPhone 6 when it's not.

Just got the 6+ to compare to the six. Only lag I noticed so far was playing Asphalt. Would stutter every once in a while on the 6+ but was smooth on the 6. Not sure it's a total non starter but annoying since the 6+ costs more and we're getting an inferior experience. Have not experience lag on app animations or switching between landscape and portrait. But am going to continue to monitor.

FWIW - I applied moderate pressure to the back and didn't feel as though it would bend. Then again I certainly didn't really try to jack up my phone.

Getting a 6+ soon. I have a 6 now and am not too too happy with the ppi being so used to 1080p phones

That's completely irrelevant...

This is not hardware-related. It's software and will be fixed in upcoming updates.

This is just a completely uneducated and ignorant statement, grab yourself an ssd and basic computer knowledge.. you're welcome

Wrong.

Watch the keynote. The + has to downscale to 1080x1920 every time it displays. Even if you refuse to believe it, the reason why Schiller mentioned the "desktop class" scaler in the plus was because, were it crappy, itd lag even WORSE because of the hardware limitations.

They can't program around the reality of the situation. This isn't RAM.

It's a questionable decision that Apple made to rush a half baked product to market. They could have waited, but by cramming in the gimped resolution to save money on screens they created LAGzilla.

If it doesn't bother you, great. Most fan(atics) want NO lag. That is NEVER gonna happen with the +.

Dude, you need to lighten up and get a sense of humor.

This seems to indeed be the case. Pretty pathetic too because I was liking the plus more until this and the bend issue.

You can't win with ZBoater!

He's the same guy that would apologize for apple when they gimped the iPad Mini retina's screen color gamut - red looks like orange and yet he thinks that's OK!

I love apple apologists. They have no sense of logic!

Maybe you're right, perhaps my reservations of macrumors will change over time

LOL! That was great.

This place is awesome, but you gotta roll with it. Don't take anything personally, even if it was meant that way. It's just words on a screen. "Sticks and stones..."

BTW I stole your meme picture and plan to use it... ;)

You gotta bob and weave to keep up with me man.

Ahhh! I remember the gamut! What a shame there was no GamutGate this time around...

You're simply not right with this. If it was the hardware, the lag would be uniformly noticeable and present in all of the same places. The fact that this isn't the case proves it's software-related. The same thing happened last year. The 5s had minor stuttering issues when opening control center, launching Siri, and opening and closing apps from iOS 7.0-7.0.4. In iOS 7.1 the stuttering was fixed completely. The same will be the case here. iOS 8 is still very buggy right now, and we'll see the performance issues of the 6 Plus vanish with the patching of these bugs.

Lol, yes sir, i'm glad you have an open sense of humor, however. I'm too old to bob and weave so I throw in the white towel

Mine lags and anyone who says there's doesn't is either lying or haven't performed the tasks confirmed to cause stuttering, end of story.

I have encountered zero lag. The only issues, software-wise, have been dodgy apps which haven't been optimised yet and this weird thing in Safari where I googled something and it started to very slowly scroll upwards when I was scrolling downwards. Massive WTF moment.

Some videos showing lag would be appreciated.

I just got the Plus a few days ago to decide between it and the 6. In store trial does not equal real world total experience.

Nothing making me want to rule out the Plus, the decision between it and the 6 is not a no brainier by any stretch. Mini versus larger iPad preference decision all over again.

Bought the 6 plus, thought it had no lag, installed asphalt 8 and saw a bit of lag, installed real racing 3, unplayable while even my iPad 3 does a better job. Hope they can fix it.

You can't expect an app that's not optimized for the 6 and 6 Plus to run perfectly smooth. And it's far from unplayable.
