iPhone 6 might only have 1GB of ram.

So your exhaustive heavy usage has determined that not only does the 5S not need any more RAM, the iPhone 6 doesn't either?
You would quite happily have Apple cripple the new model in order to save what to them would be a few dollars....because who needs the functionality of being able to open a few extra tabs in Safari? Are you serious?

So i guess if it does come with just 1GB of ram you won't be buying it?

Most people don't know or care about how much memory in their iphone, if it works they happy to which even with just 1GB of ram it does.

If 1GB was an issue then why is it you don't hears the millions that bought the iPhone screaming about not having enough memory, the only people that moan are the geeks and tekkies.

If it more memory and specs your after then you be better off on Android.

If you look at iOS8 beta it seems to run perfectly fine on the iphone 5S so only seeing 1GB of ram in the iPhone 6 might just happen & 2GB saved for the 6S with iOS 9.

Apple have never been one for specs, so if to their eyes if iOS8 runs fine on only 1GB of ram, which is does then they see no point in increasing cost's for extra 1GB just for the sake of a few extra tabs in Safari.

So don't be to surprised come next month if the iPhone 6 still only has 1GB of ram.

Apple saving 2GB for the 6s won't happen. Each version of the phone always has the same amount of ram and each major revision so far has doubled the ram.

Also if you remember the iOS 7 betas ran perfectly fine on the iPhone 5. But 7 was designed to really run on the 5s. The same thing happens with 8.

The 6 will have more ram. I wouldn't be surprised if it had 1.5 GB tho.

How do you know that the millions who've bought iPhones aren't wanting more RAM, have you asked them? Some might not know why their web pages constantly reload, they might not equate it to a lack of RAM if they aren't computer literate.
As for myself, I don't want more RAM because it looks good on paper. I want more RAM because I run into a requirement for it several times per day and no, I absolutely won't be purchasing the iPhone 6 if it only has 1GB of RAM.
Whether you feel 1GB 'works fine' or not, I disagree massively. Sure 1GB is ok for light use but the iPhone is a premium smartphone and is touted as being a mini computer suitable for heavy use. I also distinctly remember that the 'unlimited number of Safari tabs' was hailed by Apple themselves as a big new feature when iOS7 was released.

What device does your partner use? And why not use it also?

I use an iPhone and won't just be tossing it in the bin because my partner's phone is better. I will however make sure that my next phone is awesome.

Apple doesn't market specs because they aren't there to market. Plus they use a different marketing plan like "i" everything and Retina push that it's good but without telling you what the specs are. That's not a bad things just the way they do it.

They do push some specs like 64 bit. Most didn't know how many bit a phone even was before that. Keep in mind bits were a HUGE marketing spec. Some devices used it in the name, Nintendo 64.

Of course they are not going to advertise PPI and RAM or whatever if the competitions is higher. What they would do is advertise how there's is just as good or other aspects of that that are better.

Did anybody have any problems with 1 GB of RAM in iPhone 5S?
I wish it was in iPad because of reloading tabs in Safari. iPad can not hold more, than 3 tabs.
But I don't see any problem with iPhone, really.

I never notice too much about it in the iPhone section just in the iPad section. I experienced issues with an iPad Air, but have rarely even handled a iPhone 5S let alone had enough time with it to notice issues caused by RAM or the lack thereof.

However assuming nothing changes on the OS side 64 bit + 4.7" screen is really going to be pushing it when it comes to 1 gb of RAM. I felt the iPad Air far exceeded it. It was too the point it was useless to me for work and I only used it to watch videos and play goofy games, not a business tool in any sense of the word (based on my usage others will vary I realize).

Yeah, daily.
I can be reading a long news article and the web page will suddenly reload, taking me back to the top. That is frustrating. Even more frustrating is when I'm filling in a web form, or typing a post, and I exit the browser to find something out. When I return to the web page, it often refreshes and I lose everything I've typed.

Now I know this might not happen if you have only the one web browser open, and no apps open in your app tray....but this is why RAM is necessary. If anyone uses their iPhone as a heavy browsing tool then they're going to run across this problem. If you only use your iPhone for occasional browsing and just have one or two light tabs open....and you're fortunate....then you might not notice this issue.

I honestly don't care if it will still have 1Gb. Chances are it'll multitask better than the LG G2 with 2GB of RAm.

What evidence do you base your assumptions on?
Premium Android releases from now onwards will have 3GB of RAM.

More like first hand experience. I'm using it now. 2GB of RAM but 1.5 GB always occupied by bloatwares. I had better multitasking experience with iphone 5 running iOS 7.

"Premium Android" is kinda an oxymoron. Getting more RAM, more pixels, bigger screen, bigger battery, more gimmicky softwares, without optimisations. Sounds like a treat.

With a 64 bit SoC; you need to have 4GB or more to operate it 64 bit! I doubt that Apple will bring it to 2GBs since that would cost them around $4 more a phone. Apple is very cheap and uses the memory as bait for future phones down the line. I think we will see Apple come out with 64 bit 4GB smartphones in 2018-2020 unless the competitors does it first then Apple will be force to do the same. But for now; it will be 1 GB until 2015. Then
Apple will do 1.5GB. 2016 2GB.

I have never seen that the long article was reloading while I was reading it. Only at background.

Have you asked the millions about their preferences for the amount of memory? I keep asking you how you know what the remainder if the world feels with regard to their iPhone.

Why's it up to me to prove my assumptions when you don't have to? You're saying that the only person on the planet who has issues with iPhone RAM is me. Prove it.

It goes both ways. Since I never claimed to know about the masses I only speak for myself or anybody that has explicitly posted. There is no proof that a wide spread problem exists or not. If it was as bad as you say, iPhone sales would tank.

They wouldn't tank though. Most people buy Apple products because they look nice and are fashionably expensive. Most don't use them to anywhere near their full potential. We even have posters state in threads here that they don't care if web pages occasionally refresh, they're more interested in synching with their Mac and iMessaging their family.

Sorry, you made two generalizations you could not possibly know about.
1. Most people buy apple products as status symbols. FAIL on your logic. No way this can be verified.
2. Apple products are not used to their full potential. Another fail. No way this can be verified, and in addition you extrapolated to 50 million owners based on the postings of 5 people.

Totally my assumptions and in no way can I prove anything.

You and I do agree on this. :) it's an interesting window into the way one thinks, that a majority of people view iPhones as status symbols. Okay then, apple should be proud of itself.

How can one use their device to its full potential? Besides opening 20 pages in Safari. :p

You know i hardly ever use the internet on my phones or game for that matter, the things i go on have apps like Ebay, banking ect.

When i do go on the net i sit at my desk on a 28" monitor, don't really care for it on a small screen be it the iPhone or a Phablet, a 8" tablet is the minimum i used for the net on the go.

So if the iPhone 6 did come with just 1GB of ram tbh i couldn't care a monkeys, everything will be optimized to work with just 1GB of ram, i don't multitask either i open one thing at a time then close it to open another, and i think alot of general users probably also do this aswell.

I regard the iPhone as a smartphone not a mini pocket pc.

Totally my assumptions and in no way can I prove anything.

After thinking more about this, it's an excellent way to stave off any further conversation. Rather than stating as a fact, which would be scrutinized to death, make a wild assumption, which in no way can be properly proved or disproved due to the vagueness and lack of data and the sheer numbers involved.

I guess my assumption is that people who buy the s5 or m8 buy it for status. People who buy an iPhone buy it to get real work done by being able to use the iPhone to the fullest without it bogging down.

Again these are my assumptions and I cannot prove any of this.
