Perhaps not, if its sapphire glass.

I haven't had my iPhone 4 in a case and considering how old it is, it's still relatively scratch free, nothing noticeable to me. I don't treat it exceptionally well either. I throw keys in the same pocket, drop it occasionally. I think even gorilla glass was relatively resistant to scratching. It was the aluminum that is more prone to scratches.

After ridiculous amount of complaints on this issue, I expected over a 1000 comments on this story.

Guess people don't appreciate good news...

I've been thinking for a while that the whole phone might be coated in a thin layer of scratch-proof sapphire. This would explain the talk of 'curved' glass and would also mean the camera will be flush with the back.

The 'bands' might just be where the sapphire fuses to the aluminium (as per Apple's recent patent).

I think this could make the phone look really nice and much better than the recent mockups. :)

Thought that was a Tesla? A Ferrari catching on fire? Do tell which model your referring to?
I believe 458 had a issue with some adhesive substance overheating and catching on fire. They switched to mechanical fastening now, I believe.

None of the mockups circulating seem to show the lightning-style headphone jack Apple is expected to introduce. Much is being made of how thin the iPhone 6 will be, and replacing the traditional headphone jack with lightning-style (say that like you would "Gangnam Style") is supposed to enable them to make devices much thinner.

The iPod nano has a standard headphone jack, and it's just 5.4mm thick. The headphone jack is not a limiting factor for the iPhone at this time.

And this, ladies and gentleman, is why these are only mockups. And also, ladies and gentleman, I have been telling forum members on here not to worry about those big lines.

The iPhone 6 will look...really really great.

iPhone 6 Mockups of Low Quality, Antenna Breaks Not in Final Design

I'm really relieved that the back will be more like the iPhone 5. The front being continuous glass to aluminum is very interesting. This will be a whole new level of design.

The band is stainless steel, not aluminum. The band is much tougher than the aluminum found in the 5.

I would've been happy if those antenna breaks were made thinner, but gone entirely? That'd be awesome. I really hope this rumor is true.

what an ugly antenna lines, this is NOT apple like, looks mean a lot to them, hope it hasn't changed.

There was a point about 4 years ago where Apple wanted to change the design of all headphone jacks to reduce their size internally. I believe the change happened without anyone noticing.

I wouldn't be surprised if the top and bottom portions of the back of the phone are made of glass, similar to the current 5 and 5S design.

Best iPhone design ever created. Hands down.

And then you hold it in your hand or rest it on your ear for a short period of time and suddenly it's not the best design. Looks beautiful - yes. Comfortable - not really.

They traded ergonomics for fashion with the move from the 3GS to the 4. I really hope they are bringing comfortability back with the 6 and it's curved edges.

That's mostly due to the aluminum being injected with dye, the surface of the aluminum on the 5 was softer and resolved in the 5S.
