I don't know. I fully understand the technology. Probably more than 99.9% of the most common customers, because I actually work in the mobile business. No, not as a mobile phone salesman, but in baseband development. Understanding the internals of a mobile phone is a prerequisite for my job, and I have been doing it for over 15 years now.It implys quite simply, Apple's PR structure requires their consumers remain in a state of selective intelligence. If they were to become too aware and fully understand the technology, the terminology or applications within, facts would be demanded and positive spin would become much more unlikely.
I still don't see what I am supposed to question or where Apple is tricking me into anything. In fact, I sometimes feel that I understand much better why some Apple product feature is "magical" (sorry!) than laymen do. I have found myself explaining to my wife many times why a certain feature is actually special.
Actually, this is exactly what you suggested with your statement above, where you stated that selective intelligence is a requirement. This is not to suggest there aren't incredibly well versed Apple fans, and incredibly ignorant Android fans.
