The i6 isn't much of an upgrade at all on the 5S actually. You're really only getting a bigger screen and an uglier phone. Most iPhone owners were perfectly happy with a smaller screen, right? Otherwise they wouldn't have bought the 5S. So why is a bigger screen now an 'upgrade'? The rest of the spec will make zero difference in real world usage.

Now that I'm ready to move to a bigger, better screen it seems like quite an upgrade, tbh. I mean there are tons of Android fans who openly say that they switched to Android because of the bigger screens and nobody has really questioned that until now.

Plus the better camera and processor and NFC (if they bring it to Canada) are cool, and I can leave my jailbreak on my 5S and enjoy iOS 8 on my new phone.

Beyond that, I just didn't want a 5.5 phone. I've looked at the dimensions and if I'm already uncomfortable with things like the Note, etc, why would I want a phone that's even bigger, with huge bezels?! I wouldn't.

People are excited about what they have chosen to buy, and aren't exactly interested in a bunch of anonymous highly negative criticism of something they're excited about.

How about we just let everyone be happy for what they're getting, and let them express why it excites them.

Thank you!

People choose their mobile phone for a whole variety of reasons, hence there being so much choice in the market. There is no single one "best" phone.

Agreed. I get what works best for me and accept that it might not be the best solution for someone else.

This thread makes me wonder if I've wandered into the children's forum, though children aren't capable of the douchiness witnressed here.. People chose the phone they chose for a variety of reasons, use cases and needs. Get over yourselves, it's just a phone.

You must be new around here. :p It's like this after every single launch. Wait until shipments start. Then it will be all about yellow screens, hot batteries and the infamous gamut.

Don't worry, it will get back to normal just in time for the iPhone 7 launch.

Plus has a larger screen with higher ppi but it has lower contrast ratio and a little bit more lag during UI animations. Perhaps that part will be improved through software updates but the contrast ratio isn't going to change.

And with the 6, you don't get the plus-sized bulge in tight jeans. Food for thought guys.

I ordered both a 6 & 6+. I wonder if Apple made more 6s and fewer 6+ in the event people thought they were too big after receiving them and want to return for 6.

Carrying around a 5.5" phone around everyday? Been there done that bought the t-shirt and wore it out with the Note 3 (actually larger screen but similar dimensions).

I hope you guys enjoy it and I'm sure many of you will but fool me twice shame on me.

I'm waiting till the iPhone 6 is throughly tested and maybe around January have my employer get me one (they buy me a phone and pay the service since I have on call hours).

But what if I want a plus-sized bulge? Ever think of that? People will always think I'm happy to see them. That's the plus in iPhone 6 Plus.

I already have a plus-sized bulge in my trousers– no phone necessary. I don't mind carrying around a large phone though.

I just got back from Best Buy were I played with the Note 3 for a bit.

It ain't that big.

Just got back from Best Buy ? Must have been next door ZBoater since your last three posts were just minutes apart... How did you manage that trick ?

Huh? I think you heard that term cognitive dissonance on the Daily Show and you clearly don't know what it means.

Your logic is also flawed because you're just flat out wrong.

I chose the 6 because I have small hands and it's a phone. I can afford the iphone plus but I chose the iphone 6 128 GB space grey because that is what I wanted.

Talk about a hipster elitest that is clearly you.

It's called cognitive dissonance. They're either hipsters who can't fit the 6+ in their skinny jeans or they're too poor to pony up the extra cash.

What in the world are you trying to call him out about? Using his phone at Best Buy?

This forum really deteriorates around launch time.

You must take internet banter very seriously.

The iPhone 6plus cannot be a better phone.

It has the identical SoC, including the same amount of RAM.

It has to push 2,47 times more pixel around, meaning memory bandwidth is used a lot by the GPU.

The 1080p display will push the phone to its limits faster, because everything that uses OpenGL (which is also your simple scrolling table) will need more rasterization (CoreGraphics drawing will raster in RAM and then upload to textures).

You don"t want to hear it but the iPhone plus is operating closer to the limits than the 6. And it will show in badly written Apps and great Apps that will try to use its full potential.

It's simple math.

PS: The camera argument is not important to me.

We're on a forum dedicated to smartphones... And you assume that he has to be at a computer to make that post? o_O

You don't know how much RAM is has. Don't be surprised if it's 2 GB.

The RAM/CPU/GPU is one single package. Apple will not produce two different SoC's for two devices that just differ in size.

Even the iPad has the same SoC, only clocked higher because it has more battery and can handle the increased heat. It's all economy of scale.

The parts are all identical.

If you are smart enough to cite cognitive dissonance (though, this is really more about rationalization than dissonance), you are probably smart enough to recognize that there are other reasons. I'm a 48 year old university administrator. I don't wear skinny jeans and I have enough cash to get whichever one I wanted. The one I wanted was the 6. :) The one that people who ordered the 6+ wanted was the 6+. It's all good.
