Pants are not tight and no pressure

The pants are not tight, as they are suit pants, they give in and are not as rigid as a tight jeans. I did not feel the phone while sitting down, if I had felt any pressure, I would have taken it out.

I have had every iPhone except for the 3GS, and this has never been an issue. I never use a case and when I sell them after year they are always in great condition.

Of course I will return it, I just wanted to check if anyone else has the same issue.

How can it bend without any pressure? Oh yes! You must have been very, very hot in the pocket area that the aluminum casing bent by itself because of the heat. Heat does that to most metal, you know!

Methinks one can bend an iPad mini like that too. I'm not going to try, though.

And the iPad Air, that would probably also bend more easily than the iPad 2 construction. The iPad 1 was probably the strongest in construction. Same goes for the iPhone 4.

I could bend my MacBook Air if I held it with two hands and tried to bend it. I'm not going to try, though. It could probably bend or dent if I put my MacBook Air into my backpack with lots of books in it.

Hi iBoost621

I work for BBC news

Could you contact me via Twitter to discuss whether we can speak to you and use your pictures

thanks

@leokelion

Of course you want to take advantage of this. Publicity is always good, right? The fact that other phones had the same issue doesn't play any role...right?

Clearly the 6 Plus is poorly built. I've had my Galaxy S4 in tight jeans while sitting and never had a problem, same with the Note 3 which has a 5.7inch display, in actual fact I haven't even heard of the metal built Sony Xperia Z Ultra bending, that is a phone with a 6.4inch display and 6.5mm thin, that is thinner than the 6 Plus.

The excuses I am reading here are utter BS, there is no reason other than crappy build quality that has the 6 Plus bending.

It has nothing to do with fanboism or the like....

The i6+ is the best device bar none.
some people cannot grasp that reality.
everyone who is anyone knows how great apple products are.

No that doesn't sound like fanboy much...

antenna gate was simply user errors - don't death grip your phone.

While the issue was a little overstated, it was an issue for occasional drop outs none the less.

This "bend gate' stupidity is just that, people who can't understand how to carry their device around.

Just so i am clear, you are telling people not to put their iPhone 6 plus in their pockets then?

who the hell puts their smart phone in their back pocket and sits on it.

this type of crap is mind blowing.

your sitting on a mini computer, a very high tech device. its common sense.

are you going to sit on your tv remote? no right? you know its susceptible to breaking

next "iPhone 6 breaks after running it over with a car, APPLE IS MESSING UP!"

I just walked down to my local supermarket with my iPhone 6 (4.7") in my front left shorts pocket. Bought a bottle of Cab Sav (quite a heavy wine) and walked all the way back still with phone in pocket. Nothing, nada, straight as a die!!

:D LOL! The guy had to intentionally try and try to bend it, I am talking about a phone bending in a pocket when hardly any excessive force has been applied, thanks for proving my point :) with other phones one has to intentionally bend it to breaking point.

What? The guy in the iPhone video tried to bend it intentionally! Where do you see the "accident" in his video?

It looks like an identical load of pressure in the video though. The iPhone 6 Plus is quite a bit bigger and the fact it is so thin would suggest the danger of it bending is higher. My standard iPhone 6 hasn't bent and I wear slim fit jeans where I'm sure the pressure in my pocket could bend it in theory. Any pressure put on a device is going to increase the risk of damage and the video of the Samsung S4 shows it is also ossicle to be damaged under load. I think this debate is in danger of being selective depending on which devices the individual likes or dislikes.

The accidents are all over forums, quit playing stupid, many 6 Plus owners realized their phone was bending without them trying to bend it intentionally, this is the whole reason why we are discussing this, remember?

When phones bend unintentionally in large numbers that is a clear sign of poor build quality, which is what the 6 Plus clearly suffers from.

It's been 3-4years of Phablets and NOW Apple release one and it bends within less than a week, that is a clear problem!

And what does that have to do with being bent?

it shows you that even a small drop can cause a force large enough for a phone to start bending/flexing/losing its structural form, so imagine what a little bigger pressure in your pocket can do to this phone. You really think that "waving around in the air" is normal for a phone?

----------

Such an utterly pointless test. Another Samsungite looking for any excuse!

so if somebody who loves Apple would make this test, would you react differently? Or would you still be closing your eyes and ears on this issue?

True but i think its called fanboyism.

I mean i love my iPhone 6 but i also like other mobiles and have an open mind so i'm not numb to the iPhone 6 being weaker than previous iPhones.

People arguing that the iPhone 6 is as strong as other iPhones or other makes of phones is nothing but deluded.

It all comes down to fanboys feeling threatened by their costly investment with these negative reports and then they get all defensive which blinds them to a potential issue on all of this.

I'm not worried because i will just make sure i look after my iPhone 6 the best i can and if it does end up bending somehow over time i will be taking matters further.

Until that time i will be enjoying the i6. :)
