I think cases have a lot to do with these bending issues. People don't realize sometimes how much force they're using when they're trying to pull it out of a tight case. I've seen some pretty tight fitting cases before where I have to literally struggle to take it off. I can see someone bending their iPhone while taking it out of the case and being like "Wow, it's even been in a hard case this entire time and it still somehow bent!"

I've been completely 100% case-less since I bought my iPhone 6 and it's not bent whatsoever. Sometimes it gets a little twisted, but I twist it back and it's all good, but that's not the same thing.

What worries me though is that the iPhone has been out for 2 months... these things have to last 2 years and I don't see that happening.

The thing that worries me here is that you say that sometimes it twists a bit and your response to it that you twist it back. Yes, that is great that you can do that but I would expect the phone not to twist in the first place. All this bendgate made cautious so I'm doing the waiting game to see. Either I'll wait for the 6S or I will just see in few months what the situation is then.
Shame, I was so excited to finally upgrade from my iPhone 4 :(

And in the mean time tens of millions of us are enjoying the phone just fine. I wouldn't listen to all the nonsense on the Internet ;) apply some common sense and you'll realise this is really a non issue bar a few who make a lot of noise and earn a lot of money from such exposure.

because yours isn't broken that it clearly not a problem for everybody else?

I also know a Greek friend who is doing very well financially... what is this "financial crisis" everyone is on about regarding Greece??

But it is NOT a problem for everyone else. So you analogy doesn't quite work.

thats exactly how ridiculous this whole argument is. Apple never, at any point, stated they are using cosmic non bendable metal. We might as well complain that our glass screens can crack too. how dare Apple not use unbreakable glass, what were they thinking!?!?1

They were thinking "profit". And that drives all their decisions good or bad. There is an expectation that the phone will not bend in normal use. If this was a huge issue it would have already made the national news. So it's isolated and the phones in question defective.

did you even read my analogy?

also my 6 is starting to wobble a little now. I will take it in for a replacement soon (also because of the weird touch ID noise)

After owning an iPhone 6 plus since launch, and always using it in an apple leather case and in my front pocket, I decided to check whether or not my phone was bent today. I laid it flat, face front on a table, and I see that it is bent. The bending isn't significant; the phone still functions perfectly, and you can't really tell that it is bent unless you looked really hard such as placing it on a flat surface and looking at eye level.

I'll probably take it to the Apple store later today and see what they say.

My great aunt has never used the internet but she knows about bendgate. It made national news.

Your error was in using the word "everybody", rather than the word "anybody".

Of course Surf Parker had to wait for someone to put an ambiguous word in their sentence to pounce. I don't think they naysayers have much left to hang on.

yeah it made the national news as with every Apple product release/problem/gate/etc etc.

The question is....how long did it stay reported by the national news??

does anyone still reports it?

answer is: NO

as soon as everyone realized this was a non-issue they soon stopped reporting it....everyone realized this was not a design fault but a user-fault...people not accustomed with a larger iPhone and still wanting to put it on their back pockets while proceeding to sit on their phones....

Naysayers can hang on to the fact that not even a website focused on fishing all cases of bent phones that appear on Facebook, Instagram, twitter, etc etc can succeed in getting more than 500 and this after almost 3 months after product release...with tens of millions of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus out there that 500 figure is laughable....even if you multiply it by 1000....

Sure - - the guy who cooked up the exaggerated videos likely made over $100,000 with almost 58 million YouTube views, not to mention how many clicks MacRumors generated by trumpeting this story in multiple front page stories.

Mission FUD accomplished (your paycheque's in the mail).

Ummm two posts above us is yet another bent phone. Some website is not even a tiny fraction of people with a bend.

LOL the October newbie with no picture to prove what he just claimed?

u that gullible?

You are joking right?

You just joined and have two posts both defending the Apple brand. I suppose I would also be gullible if I believed you are not just an Apple employee trying to save some face. Where is your proof?

I wish Apple would've made the iPhone 6 & 6 Plus with a thicker piece of aluminum and had a flush camera lens. It would've made the phone much stronger and bendgate wouldn't be happening.

I wish Apple would've made the iPhone 6 and 6plus free.

lol but in all seriousness I miss the rigidity of the iPhone 4 and the iPad 1-4.

When all this 'Air' nonsense started Apple's design went downhill.

Just came back from the Apple Store after an appointment at the Genius bar. Showed him my phone, and the Genius agreed that it was bent (if only ever so slightly; you can see a very, very, very small gap between the front surface and the tabletop). He went to check with his manager, and he explicitly stated that they don't cover "bent enclosures".

Didn't really feel like arguing with the store employees, so I didn't push the issue further. I mean, my phone is 100% functioning, and I can't tell that the phone is bent unless I put it down on a table and really look for it. Sucks, but I guess that's how it is until they fix the structural integrity in later versions.

The situation you describe is not covered by the word "sucks".

May I suggest "chafed"?

I would have shown them this article:

http://www.theverge.com/2014/11/7/7173451/my-name-is-dan-and-i-had-a-bent-iphone

If they replaced a bent iPhone for Dan from the Verge without any hassles, why shouldn't they do it for you? That is what is most disturbing about this issue. Apple's inconsistency about replacing bent phones doesn't seem right. Apple should give us us clear guidelines about what warrants a replacement and what does not. If bent enclosures do not warrant a replacement then no one should be getting them...why are some customers being treated better than others?

If you look on www.oneofthenine.com you will see that there are as many, if not more, cases of the regular iPhone 6 being bent than the iPhone 6+. Consumer reports also found that the 6 bends with less force (70 lbs) than the 6+ (90 lbs).

More then half of those phone pictures look like people intentionally bended them/put them through a meat grinder. i wouldnt be suprised if Samsung is hiring/doing some **** on the low just buying iPhones and bending them and posting pictures up of them, wouldnt be the first time Samsung has did something similiar like that(Samsung got caught writing bad comments and reviews for the M8 all over the web, they paid people to do this and they ended up getting caught)

There is the camera lens that sticks out. Maybe that's your issue. No pics. It didn't happen.
