iPhone 6 Pre-Orders to Kick off Tonight at 12:01 AM Pacific

I moved off my ex-girlfriend's plan to my own plan and they let me keep my grandfathered data (this was after they had been canceled and I was already grandfathered in). I did insist they make a note in the file JUST in case, but I had no problems with keeping it.
But you probably want to stay on their plan anyways and get the family discount, right?

Yes, the decision whether to go for the Plus is a tricky one! About the saddest thing I've ever done in my life with regards to tech, but this morning I rode into work with this in my pocket to get a 'feel' for life with a phablet

If your sure thats the right size (length and width) does that fit in your shirt pocket? I know your legos are thicker. I just need to know if the 6 plus fits in a normal shirt pocket. If it does, i'm in for the plus.
Just found the dimensions on apples web site. Looks like no issues fitting in shirt pocket, also adding some protection shell so I am in for the plus.

I am going to be switching providers to Verizon this time around. If I pre-order, does it do the whole 2 year contract and credit check all that on Apple's site... or does signing up for new service require doing it from Verizon...?

so how does it work in the us? i have a friend there who can order online for me. hes coming to uk in a couple of weeks. i just checked apple.com and looks like its all contract except for T-mobile..? does it come locked then?

I really wish Apple would start allowing the preorder of unlocked phones. I still have a year left on my contract, which means I have to buy unlocked, which means I have to go stand in line, assuming unlocked phones will even be available day one.
really want to come back to iphone but doesn't look likely. would love that 5.5" 6+
why couldn't they have gone with 32/64/128 devices and made the 4.7/5.5 the same model but just different sizes?
16gb is just a joke these days. 32gb at minimum but no if you want more than 16gb you need to go all the way to 64gb which means more money.
it should be:
£539 - 4.7/5.5 - 32GB
£619 - 4.7/5.5 - 64GB
£699 - 4.7/5.5 - 128GB
so instead of £539 if i want to get the phone i want (32gb 5.5) then i need to pay £699 for a 64gb 5.5. thats a £160 difference.
just can't afford it anymore.

Yes. The T-Mobile Phone is locked to the Carrier. If you want to get this unlocked you need to be a T-Mobile Customer and request the unlock.
I've never actually purchased one anywhere near the launch date, but do they offer the unlocked versions on the same day? I'd rather we drop $600 than be tied to AT&T in an even longer contract.
It's easy for someone like me who is pretty happy with the 4" screen and phone size, but could use a bit more screen real estate and won't mind sacrificing only a bit more portability. Definitely going with the 4.7".

And then hope the driver doesn't just drive on past your house and claim you weren't home. Happened to me with the 5. Man was he pissed when I called and ratted on him (hey they deliver on a Friday, I want my phone). Of course then he went back and looked at the gps and was forced to admit he messed up.
Hopefully he knows better then to do that again this year...

Depends on the carrier policies.
Doing that on a Verizon plan, since there are currently no prices for off contract, means unlimited on Verizon will go away.
You better check with AT&T before you do that.

haha! it has been really rocky in the past, but I think they are ready for this one. Apple has been touting this as their highest selling product ever, I think they are preparing for a big rush
Likely not tonight. Instore pickups generally require the store to have stock.
But try it. Apple might allow it, however there may not be a guarantee you can get it in the 19th. Rather than pulling from the stock being shipped they might be literally shipping orders to the store individually and thus you could be dealing with fedex delays, etc.
