My money will gladly go to any good smart phone that can be used with ONE hand.

More than 5" ain't it. For me, even 4.5" is borderline.

Because by 2016, nobody (except maybe Grandma) will be carrying around phones and putting them in their pockets, like chumps. Phones will be something you use in your car, on a desk, or sitting on a sofa.

Your iWatch and iGlasses will be used for connectivity on the go. They'll be far more capable than todays devices and far more portable than any phone.

So if I'm walking, I'll always have to be holding my phone in my hand, because it won't fit in my pocket? This is a future I don't want.

weak

How about make the screen shatter resistant and the phone WATERPROOF!!!!

Or how about releasing ios8 on other phones like sony!

I think you just said "By 2016, nobody will be carrying around phones, we'll all use tablets at home and watches/glasses for communication."

Does that make more sense?

I'm guessing that if they released two new sizes, the resolutions would be identical or they'd have to fragment the ecosystem again. And with that being the case, there would be zero advantage to the larger version (assuming they don't also give it a spec bump).

Of course, those who need to compensate will still rush to buy one, but other than that it doesn't make much sense.

No. No more so than you walk around holding a laptop or iPad today.

The point is, most of the time, you won't need to carry it around at all. Other, more portable, devices will do everything your phone does today and more.

September is so far away...ive been bored with my 5s since november

And this is why conspicuous consumption will be the downfall of our society. I can go to my grandparents home and see they still have stuff from LOOONG ago. That generation truly bought things once and that was it.

Correct. But I think the distinction between tablets and phones (and eventually, even PCs) will become blurred.

No it's because the product hasn't gone through an extreme change in 3 years.

ugh... all this talk about bigger phones... I have an ipad mini, i'm good on that end. Please make a 2.5-3" iphone nano please!

Early as Sept?

How is September early? Isn't that the typical release timeframe?

Also I have high doubts of the larger sizes. The iPhone 5 alone makes hitting the top left back button very hard with one right hand and would be impossible with larger sizes. Also if icons are simply enlarged then you wouldn't be getting more space, simply easier to read for older crowds.

Many people DO NOT WANT LARGER than the current phone.

If the "many people" are people here (who have bashed for years about anything bigger than 3.5" until Apple rolled out (and thus blessed) 4" as the (now) perfect size-), as soon as Apple rolls out a >4" phone and bless it as the new perfect, these people will almost all fall right in line: "shut up and take my money", "how did we ever get by with those puny screens?", "I'm already in line", etc.

The "many people" here want whatever they think Apple wants them to want. I think Apple could roll out a 10" phone and this crowd would go head over heels: "who needs pants anyway?", "my phone is bigger than your phone", "can't wait for the 12" pro model", and so on. Right now, it's just split because most want to hedge their stances (too many rumors pointing toward 4" no longer being "perfect" so we bash bigger screens less and sling phrases like "wait & see").

If Apple rolls out a bigger screen in either size, lots of the remaining bashers will flip overnight to "I'm already in line", "once I actually got to see one…" and so on. Shortly, thereafter, we'll be bashing other company phones with smaller (including 3.5" and 4" screens) and larger screens than the new (third and maybe fourth incarnation) of "perfect" so sayeth the Apple.;)

Time for Retina+ to be introduced.

It's been 4 years since Retina was introduced so it's definitely time for a higher resolution.

So you can claim higher specs with a corresponding decrease in battery life and no appreciable difference in what the screen looks like?

Effing garbage. I don't want a bigger phone. Up for renewal this year. iPhone 5 is the perfect size. According to this bigger is the only option. Not happy.

Can you see the pixels now then? If you can't see the pixels what is the benefit of having more? The larger file sizes? The slower operation and shorter battery life due to the processor working harder?

People get too hung up on specs and not enough on using brain.

128GB please.

Apple says their customers(loyalists) are not ready to handle that large of storage yet. May be in 3-5 years, Apple will review statistics to see if their customer base can handle the memory increase. Until then, 64gb should be adequate, says Apple.

Also, please refrain from suggesting that Apple add a micro SD slot for storage expansion.
Apple said that's not the right why to increase memory.

Yep I stand by my views on this. Apple never compromises on experience to meet the needs of a tiny segment of the market. The iPhone is perfect because you can use it with one hand unlike those ridiculous Android phablets that are almost unusable they are so huge. Experience comes first with Apple.

I can't stand it when people take what works for them and then proclaims it as what's best for everyone.

I have a 5" phone. I can use it with one hand. It is completely usable.
