Oh my mistake, it looks fine though to me, the first pic with the air makes it look like the left side is brighter than the right but I don't see it in the standalone picture of the phone so I guess it's your camera maybe, or the angle.

The picture with the iPad is definitely the camera angle as the left side is for surely darker. and FYI the left side of my iPad screen is slightly dimmer too so that's not because of the camera. Funny thing is i've had that iPad since December and I never noticed the unevenness until recently let alone have it ever bother me. Yet it's driving me bonkers on the iPhone

I really cant see unevenness on the iphone in the 2nd pic. Looks fine to me. This is coming from a guy who returned 3 ipad airs for this kind of thing too.

Count me in for a yellow screen. The first i6 had a black shadow on the screen in the top 1/8th of the screen, a space grey model.

Exchanged for a white/silver model, and it was worse! Backlighting problem of some sort at the top of the screen.

I now have another space grey and it's yellow at the top of the screen and fades to normal about midway down. Very disappointing. I guess if you're picky about the quality of your phone, you shouldn't be buying them so close to launch day when Apple is under pressure to supply zillions of phones in a short time span.

It doesn't have to go with that. It's just the wY they made. Year from now sane problems will be around.

LOL you guys... If you saw my 2007 iMac screen with your OCD you'd straight shoot yourselves.
Here it is.

It's on full brightness. But i use it on minimal brightness PLUS i use shades app and set it to 40%. Those 2007 iMacs without shades app are like watching the sun. So i really don't see how bad it is.

Now go and give some love to your new shiny iPhones!

P.S. Yosemite runs great and is super fast, except for some slow animations. Such a beast, hahaha.

What I need to know is what my odds are of a good screen. I had to return my retina macbook pro 5 times and then swap screens from one to another in order to get a screen that didn't have uneven brightness and/or yellow blotches. So, am I going to have to return the iPhone 5 times 6 times?

I haven't seen as many blatantly problematic displays as I did with the iPad Air. Granted I only know 2 people with the iphone 6 (not plus) right now that I got to see in person. Perfect displays as far as I could see. Also checked about 3 or 4 displays at ATT stores demo units and couldn't see anything either, but it's hard to tell on demo units.

10 minute wait to talk to Apple. They are certainly hoping people won't bother with getting a replacement. LOL

Apple is sending a replacement. I'll let you know when it gets here if it's any better. Fingers crossed but not holding my breath.

Your right, that is making me wonder HOW you live with that!

OTOH I've had the same MacBook Pro for nearly 5 years and didn't notice the uneven backlighting with white background until I had trouble with it on my iP6, even now it still doesn't bother me, nor does the same issue on the iPad, but the iPhone? It just drives me insane!

Many of the yellow screen are also less sharp. It's not just this one is warmer than that one, etc. It's poor qc.

Like i said i only see it when the screen is white and the brightness is at max. I'm on min brightness plus i reduce it by 50% once again with shades app. impossible to see if the screen isn't completely white. Plus, i don't really care anymore. It's 7 years old and on its seventh edition of OS X. I mean, that's an achievement on its own right there, haha. Still doing great. sometimes i don't even notice the difference between it and my 2012 mba.

I'm having a hard time laying this one to rest. What do you guys think of my screen in this photo? It's weird to me cuz sometimes I notice the inconsistency and sometimes I dont.

That's ugly to me. Bigtime ugly. I'm not sure what's going on with Apple, but I don't recall this warm/cold tint issue being that much of an issue before the iPad Air. I know people had complained about the ENTIRE screen being warm/cold, but not this left/right problem.

I've experienced it myself on my 6 Plus. I had to exchange my first one because it was abominable.

My current one is "OK" but there's definitely some lax quality controls when it comes to Apple's display since the iPad Air. My iPad Air resembles your iPhone 6 somewhat, and while it's to a lesser extent, my firm belief is that it should be not happening.

I see nothing in that photo. I'm sure every single screen has some "issue" I can only imagine androids having similiae issues.

got my replacement today

The first genius who tried to help me said,"it's bec. the ip6 is retina" after showing him my ip4 w/cool temp side by side with ip6 pic. The next genius compared it to another employees ip6 and noticed the yellow tint on mine now so she replaced it. This is my new iphone6 now..

another yellow :( but i'm just gonna keep this one.

you guys are right almost every ip6 on their display table has cooler temp

I returned my 6 to Apple today due to discoloration around the edges of the screen (most visible is at top right of screen like others posting here): I don't have time to play the exchange game so I just returned it.

Comparing to your iPhone 4 that's actually how iPhones have looked since the iP5. I got used to it and liked it very quickly and after that the iP4 is eye searingly blue. Your 6 is about as cool as they get.

Nope not true. I have an iPhone 6 with a screen as cool and clear as that 4.
