Screen size sounds just about right. And for all you haters, once you use a phone with a reasonable screen size, you can never go back to looking at a tiny low-resolution screen.

It's really a non issue updating apps. What ever Apple does developers are going to be ready to update there apps.

I bet most developers will be extremely happy with what ever Apple does because it means more eyes for there apps.

I really doubt Apple is gonna go to some odd res. like 1704x960. I think they will end up with a 1080p display.

1704x960, while not industry standard, is still a nearly 16:9 ratio. It'd be the same ratio as the 5 and 5s now. And you're getting more PPI. I don't think it's that far fetched. It'd help developers a lot with easy scaling.

I sincerely hope that they have multiple size options rather than just releasing one large iPhone 6. My wife and I were talking about this yesterday. I think her opinion echoes that of a lot of users. They just don't want to haul around a larger device.

You are right but I would not worry about that. I think Apple are well aware of peoples screen size preferences. See what they did with iPad mini retina. Same specs, different screen size for different peoples need. Just as it should be.

iPad Mini

As you get older, like me, the desire to do many of the things I once did on an iphone decreases. The screen is too small.

The only thing I want an iphone for is calling people (using my synced contacts), camera and a flashlight. All other apps are better suited mirroring on my car navigation screen or an iPad (pick a size).

So, I need a small, durable flip phone with my contacts that works well with an iPad.

I have no need for a "larger" iphone because it would still be smaller then the iPad mini.

"Blah blah 'analyst prediction' blah blah"

Hey, it's a rumors site. I just wish I could believe rumors of this larger iPhone arriving earlier than September because the sooner, the better, IMO.

Yeah, same here. It's all speculation, it's fun :)

That's exactly the reason why Apple silently introduced that swipe-back-gesture some time ago. Believe me, they will certainly justify the bigger screen with software tweaks like that at the coming press event. ;)

Exactly. That single feature in iOS 7 was probably the #1 reason that convinced me Apple would do a bigger iPhone display. Even the iPhone 5 display is a little big for me and I prefer to swipe back than hit the Back button.

It has become second nature to me, it's extremely infuriating when you're in apps using the iOS 6 APIs which don't support that and you just swipe and nothing happens. :p

802.11.ac isn't that huge of a deal considering most won't have an ac wireless by then and few public places have gone beyond g at this point.

If they keep making 2 sizes, I would hope the larger size would be greater than 4.8". Let's add another half an inch and just say 5.3" or something. :)

I want a bigger phone so bad. I was so close to switching to the Note 3 a couple months ago. I want to stay with the iPhone, but I really want a bigger phone.

Looking forward to iPhone 6. I hope they keep the bezel as thin as possible so that it still fits easily in the hand.

They just have to eliminate some bezel and cut the top (Touch ID is on the bottom, maybe put it a little closer to the bottom edge) and it would probably fit in a hand comfortably still.

But developers shouldn't really need much help with scaling. If you build your app correct (This of-course doesn't apply to every type of app) it should scale with almost nothing being done by the developer. This is what the auto layout is for.

After using a Galaxy Note or S4 you'll never get back to a smaller screen. It's very comfortable for typing and reading.

no, the iphone is too much in my pocket as is, I love having my ipod touch with me almost invisible in my pocket at 88 grams around the house, that is what I would like to see iphone 6 like, I don't want a bigger screen for reading and typing, I have an ipad mini for when I want size of screen. I hope they release 2 models though, what both of us want.

ac is on almost all new routers I believe, and by the end of the year probably all. Apple knows what they are doing, they knew it would not be very wise to add to the iphone 5s due in part because the standard wasn't widely adopted yet, and because obviously they want as many new features in the iphone 6 as possible.

It's about damn time. I wish Apple would take more risks instead of playing it safe all the time like they did with screen sizes.

Also to state the obvious they need to shrink the bezel! It's unnecessary to have anything at this point.

Maybe about time for you and a few others but even Google admits through their latest Android report for developers most people (over 80%) still use a small screen phone (4" or smaller).
