Took fifteen minutes after midnight for the Apple store to come up for me. Verizon was up immediately. So I took a chance and boom. Went right through with Verizon. Was done in a few minutes. I got my confirmation already ship date to arrive by the 25th. Now the hard part, the waiting!!

I've just pre ordered the 6S Plus at 8:02 in the UK. I used the Apple Store app, everything went through smoothly, no problems at all. Got email conformation for my order, delivers 25 September.

The Apple UK website is still not allowing you to pre order at 8:45, so I would recommend anybody wanting to pre order to use the Apple Store app.

Say what you want... All 3D touch gestures can be emulated on previous devices with a simple long hold.

A main new feature... Live photos? Are you kidding me? Just take a god damn video. Even Hey Siri without being plugged in can be easily activated with a simple jailbreak.

Features like the keyboard trackpad were present in the iOS 9 betas on previous iOS devices, yet has been removed to exclusively be on these new devices.

This may be the right buy for pre-iPhone 5s users ready to upgrade, but otherwise this year it all seems so half assed.

Not a compelling buy at all. Skip.

completely wrong. force != duration. with 3d touch there is a light tap, a normal, and deep. duration plays no part.

haptic feedback that those who've used say is much better and dovetails with 3d touch perfectly.

4k video.

12mp iSight camera.

5mp FaceTime camera.

A9 processor way faster.

...many changes. but, obviously, normal people don't upgrade every single year. phone geeks like me do, and this year is no disappointment.

MacRumors may want to update their Buyer's Guide. ;)

EDIT: Looks like they've updated it now. Pretty quick actually all things considered, it was just funny to see an article about the new iPhones being available for pre-order and a recommendation at the end of the article saying not to buy.

I appreciate Apple finally allowing in store pickup. Does this mean they have actually made enough to meet demand? Hopefully.

Ordered one for delivery and two for in store pickup to cover all three lines. I even chose 1:30-2:00 pm for in store to test the waters. Hopefully it is literally as easy as showing up at 1:30 and walking out with our devices. If so, it's been nearly a decade, but Apple finally will have mastered iPhone launch day. :)

Managed to get my Gold 6S Plus 16GB form the Apple Store. I payed the full 750 dollars for the T-Mobile version. My parents are going to kill me for all this money I've spent the pass two weeks 1300 for my new MacBook, and 750 now for my 6S Plus.

Within the first 5 min I was able to order from the app. I purchased an iPhone 6s Space Grey 64gigs full price on the Verizon Network. Apple.com was pretty pointless IMO.

Haha on Safari it still shows that the store is closed. I ordered through the app at about 5 min past 3am, I think that's the best option.

Just ordered a Gold and Rose Gold 6s each with 64G through T-Mobile by calling in. It took about 25 minutes to get through and then less than 15 minutes to complete the order. While their websites were stating $99 down for the 64G phones, when I called in they were quoting $0 down. I guess I will find out what happens when the charge (if any takes place) after it ships.

We must not be reading the same reviews. I am not knocking force touch, but I do feel the poster you responded to isn't off base by saying that we could emulate the functionality of force touch (as we saw it on the keynote) with duration (we would have to do something about Apps going all wiggly in delete mode, but aside from that it would work). I don't doubt the technology is way different and more advanced (in fact I know it is), but from a user standpoint, from what we have baked into the OS, it's not all that novel. This may change over time or with newer more advanced apps.

My wife has an Apple Watch and force touch has far from changed her life. YMMV

Trying to place and order for a "Paid In Full" iPhone on my Verizon account but a $40 activation fee keeps showing up... Why am I paying this if I am buying the phone outright? This an error?

Verizon site process was flawless, Unable to get Apple site or app to go through this year or last. 6S Plus 64GB Space Grey ordered.

Same here! Was shocked that Verizon was up before Apple. I was done with my order before the Apple Store came up for me!

Waited forever for t-mobile site to come up to find out iPhone 6S is not even available for order online.... Total BS!

When I logged in to my T-Mobile account it allowed me to add the 6S for pre-order, but if you want to get the discounted Jump On-Demand, you needed to call in.

I've been waiting on mine for 30 minutes now.
Yep.. I've been waiting for the unique registration code for 30+ minutes.. I just went ahead and took a screen shot of everything. My time slot was 8:30am so i'm going to go in and show my screen shots and hopefully they'll say "oh yeah we f*ked up. You can get it.

So now what, do I take the phone to a T-Mobile store or something ? This will be my first phone service, since I'm currently on my parents service.
