I'm having the same BS issue. i want to pay full price and Verizon is forcing me to agree to a $40 upgrade fee. wtf? this is happening on both Apple store and Verizon store. so now i am trying to make a reservation to pick it up in store to avoid this and the reservation site keeps telling me to "update my apple id"! this is getting frustrating.
Same issue but on Verizon's site it says if you pay full price no activation fee will be charged. I'll wait and see but if I do get a charge I'll make sure it gets reversed. I should add I didn't get charge for the fee upon completion of my order.
 
Managed to get my Gold 6S Plus 16GB form the Apple Store. I payed the full 750 dollars for the T-Mobile version. My parents are going to kill me for all this money I've spent the pass two weeks 1300 for my new MacBook, and 750 now for my 6S Plus.

Did T-Mobile charge you a $15 "upgrade fee"? I ordered an unlocked AT&T one and the $15 fee surprised me. If T-Mobile doesn't penny-pinch like that then next year Im moving to them!
 
I went and ordered mine on the Verizon site as it was up before the Apple app was ready. I have a Space Gray 128GB 6+ coming. The interesting thing was that Verizon was selling the Apple protection plan still at 99.95 instead at the new price. I jumped at that one real fast. Delivery on 9/25 with a verification email at 12:08 am.
 
Well I'm missing out on this preorder because I have to borrow another lines upgrade! Best Buy did this for me for the 5S but they only do Next now :( looks like ATT store is my only option!
 
I just got my Silver 128Gb 6s+ via T-Mobile CS after a 40 minute hold. It was pretty painless. I signed up for Jump on Demand on the spot and was done in about 10 minutes. Only the Apple Store iOS app worked. I was able to place phones in my basket with little delay. Apple.com was a no go on the other hand.
 
Ordered through the iPhone Upgrade Program...kept getting the "Update Apple ID" page, took me 30 minutes to finally realize I had to change my Apple account password, now I've got a 64GB Space Grey 6s Plus reserved for me after work at my local Apple Store (New Orleans) on 9/25!
 
I still cant get the reservation system to work from app or phone. It hangs up on the second login after I select the phone and store. Upset I woke up for this....
 
That resale value is likely to go down another $100 once the new phone launches. If you are able to go without a phone for a couple weeks, or are willing to deal with the hassle of a replacement phone for that time, it's a no-brainer. I have bought/sold/resold phones for ages. The reality is, while I was in school. this made a lot of sense (the phones held more value back then too, especially since you could unlock and ship them to countries that didn't have official iPhone launches). Now, you are lucky to make back $100 if you resell your phone. Really depends on where you are in life and how much it's worth it to you to try and sell a phone. For many, it's just not worth the extra effort.

I forgot about the drop once the new iPhone hits the stores. You could be unscrupulous and sell your old iPhone as a preorder to avoid that $50 hit(I don't expect it to drop $100). If you had at least a couple people on your line, it would make more sense to resell. If the money saved means that much though, you probably should wait a couple years and just buy used. This is why the upgrade program is so successful though and also why people keep broken phones in their drawers.

I got it through the Apple Store App on the iPhone.​

Apple's website store still isn't open at 3:40 EDT, and AT&T's website shows delivery dates between October 16 and October 23 as of 3:26 EDT, so ordering through AT&T definitely has a later shipping date than ordering it through Apple. I remember the exact same thing last year. I ordered both through Apple and AT&T, then I canceled the later delivery date order.

Update: As of 3:49 EDT, I checked shipping times through the Apple Store App and it's still September 25 for the Gold 128GB iPhone 6s Plus (and some other models as well).

I ordered directly from AT&T to create a new account but don't mind if I don't receive them on launch day because I will be receiving a total of $600 credit for porting 2 numbers and trading in two used phones that have little resell value.
 
Was anyone else really peeved that they couldn't reserve an iPhone for a later date under the iPhone Upgrade Program? Thanks for giving me one day of availability Apple for when I need to drive 120 miles to the nearest store! I was hoping to make a family trip to St. Louis to visit the zoo when I'm off on October 1st but I guess not. Already have plans for the 26th in town so I have to rush to St. Louis and back after work that Friday.

I could be patient but I've already locked in a trade-in for my old iPhone to get a decent price so I need to get it out the door or I'll be without a phone for a while. At least with this new upgrade program I won't have to worry about that any more. I'm also completely done with this giant 6 Plus and can't wait to get the smaller size! This phone has been a lemon too. It can't get rid of it soon enough.
 
Preordered 6S+ Gold through AT&T Premier. Got into the website at 3:00 EST, shipping time was already Oct 13-26th. What, did they not get any in? Even worse, wife's order crashed before checkout, and we never got a confirmation for her. So now, AT&T site is working, but Premier seems to have crashed, and because we have a corporate discount, we can't just use the regular AT&T site. Ugh.

I upgraded 2 lines, one over the AT&T website and one through the Apple Store app. I paid nothing ($0) for the AT&T order (iPhone 6, 128gb) but had to pay taxes on the Apple Store purchase (iPhone 6+, 128gb). I'm assuming I'll pay the AT&T taxes on the next bill or something?

Similar thing for me on $40 one-time upgrade fee and full price phone. Even worse, Verizon's site wanted to change my Unlimited Data Plan to 2gb. Apple at least let me keep my unlimited data. So I'm ordered for 9/25 delivery via Apple Store App with a confirm email that says full price phone, unlimited data, $40 upgrade fee. Will have to make sure I don't get charged the $40.

You can thank the jerks who hacked Jennifer Lawrence's iCloud account for that. Everything Apple requires dual authentication now. Fortunately for me the text came through quickly.


Really? I didn't have to do a text code or anything for my reservation. Although, it reserved two phones for me instead of one. haha. I tried the 6S Plus 128GB black and it said it wasn't available, so I did the silver. Then I got a confirmation email for both. haha.

iPhone 6s Plus rose gold 64 and 128gb was sold out instantly so I snagged 1 iPhone 6s Plus rose gold 16gb, 1 6s rose gold 128gb, 1 6s rose gold 64gb and 1 6s plus gold 64gb. Looking forward to cashing in on 9/25.
 
I reserved a phone for in store pickup and am hoping it works with prepaid accounts. Does anyone know if it will or not?

We shouldn't get charged, I would be really upset at Verizon if we were. I think it's just a glitch.. hopefully!
 
I ordered two 64 GB Space Greys from AT&T. Ship days for both of them is the 24th. That probably means I won't get them till later but that's ok. Also their website was such a pain in the butt tonight.
 
One-Time Upgrade Fee $40 is noted on my email confirm but not part of the total from Apple. Ordered through Apple Store App for Verizon. Paid full price to keep my unlimited data and at least the confirm email says "unlimited data."

But I don't think I should have to pay upgrade fee if paying full price. Hope the $40 doesn't show up on my next bill from Verizon.

If it does, contact Verizon and they will take it off your bill. It happened to me once.

Done. Just bought wife 6sPlus 64Gb rose gold, ATT. Next plan 18.

Unfortunately no 2 year contract renewal option available at time of purchase :/

Did you order through Apple? I think the 2-year contract option (for AT&T) is only available through att.com.
