On October 10, countries include Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in India, Malaysia and Turkey on Friday, October 16 and in over 130 countries by the end of the year.

I have to say this again every year. The only reason they keep on breaking the record is they keep adding countries every year. It's all about the papers and Cook is the real opportunistic here. Get all the attention from the media and Apple will be all over the news for a couple days. I can walk to Apple Store today to get an iPhone 6s no problem except for the rose gold.

It's not required - isn't the OS simple enough already? You open the App then close it - is it really that difficult and time consuming?

Can you not accept that others like these features and just move on? Using them is not mandatory and neither is owning an iPhone. You don't like iPhone, don't buy it. Don't like a feature on your phone, don't use it. It's a simple thing really. I like many others really like 3D Touch and find it useful. It seems as though other people liking something you don't, in your mind has to be illogical and unreasonable. Think about that for a minute. I don't like beef. Does it make everyone who eats beef illogical or unreasonable? No it doesn't.

Some people like Android, some Windows, some iOS, some BlackBerry. And you know what? There's not a thing wrong with that. Different people, different tastes, likes, needs. Again, not a difficult concept for a 'reasonable', 'logical' human being to comprehend.

I wish I could - both bath and bristol here in the UK barren mate

Apple is setting itself up in a bad position with this high-expectation. it will have to break its own breaking-record numbers in the future or else.... and we all know nothing will go up forever, nature law of gravity.

that's probably why they only increase this number slightly every year. if they launched it in all countries with full stock it would easily double this number, if not more.

but that would be a logistics nightmare

Now this made me laugh..... posted by an analyst on 17th September !!

Top analyst: Early Apple iPhone 6S sales are weak

Early evidence is suggesting demand for the iPhone 6S may be meaningfully lower than last year's model, according to a top-ranked technology analyst.

Andy Hargreaves of Pacific Crest wrote a provocative note to clients on Wednesday evening showing Google search volume, device shipments availability, third-party surveys and a lack of quantitative statements from Apple and the wireless carriers all point to weak iPhone demand.

Hargreaves is one of the top analysts on Wall Street. His picks average a 33 percent one-year return with a 70 percent success rate and he is ranked in the top 1 percent of all analysts, according to TipRanks.com.

Keep telling yourself that. iPhone 6S also has 2 GB RAM and A9 processor, which is a huge leap over the A8. People that upgrade every other year prefer the S cycle for a reason. The S versions are always MUCH better than the non-S version.

It's true. Performance wise, the S version usually lays the groundwork for the next numbered revision. So the iPhone 7 will perform similarly to the 6S.

3D touch is Apple's version of a shortcut and its an operating system for a phone - are people so challenged that they need shortcuts for everything? This also means double input - press to preview and then launch App.

You obviously haven't seen the full capability of the 3D Touch. Transforming the keyboard into a trackpad using the 3D Touch is one big benefit for me.

You're basically paying for an extra GB of RAM, a slightly better camera, a slightly faster phone (which barely matters in real world use because the 6 was fast as well), and 3D touch.

I could understand upgrading your current phone to the iPhone 6S or 6S plus if you've owned the 4S,5 or the 5S, but I have a feeling a lot of people ordering the new iPhones are the same ones who upgrade every year, which is a waste of money. I don't understand how 13 million people can buy a phone that's pretty much the same phone as last year with a couple of small tweaks?

Someone should please tell me... Outside of the 3D touch and new "rose pink" color, what makes buying the 6S or 6S plus worth the extra $100-$200 over the 6 and 6 plus?

At the end of the day sales are sales. Who cares if the come at the end of September or in October. If demand is weak it will show up in Apple's quarterly earnings release in January.

so what? it's still an impressive number.

What does this mean? I'm assuming the 13M would have to include anyone that pre-ordered and received their phone. So is it really three days?

I think this is because Apple only reports sales of sold and fulfilled phones? Not pending or channel stock. ??? I think this is accurate.

You said "3D touch is already saving me time as I can 'peek' at links embedded in emails without having to actually click-following the link and then go back to email." Is is that much of a mental challenge to open and app and close it - really?

Why take the extra steps if you can do something more quickly? I really don't get your reasoning at all.

So the quetion is, is the 13M a function of supply? Is Apple selling them as fast as they can make them? Or is there slightly softer demand at launch?

Based on the website below , which tracks Apple Store shipping dates in major launch countries, the earliest ship date is 10/5, lots of 10/19, some 1-2 weeks and the 6S Plus is mostly showing 3-4 weeks out. I tried to reserve a 64GB space gray and only a handful of Apple stores were listed as being available to reserve. My state wasn't (and it has 5 Apple stores).

This was my first question. Are they only limited by stock since Apple does not report pending sales as a sale in order to keep their revenue in line for investors.

Disposable income.
