You obviously haven't seen the full capability of the 3D Touch. Transforming the keyboard into a trackpad using the 3D Touch is one big benefit for me.
Keep telling yourself that. iPhone 6S also has 2 GB RAM and A9 processor, which is a huge leap over the A8. People that upgrade every other year prefer the S cycle for a reason. The S versions are always MUCH better than the non-S version.
They sell 13 million of them and their stock drops![]()
Someone should please tell me... Outside of the 3D touch and new "rose pink" color, what makes buying the 6S or 6S plus worth the extra $100-$200 over the 6 and 6 plus?
I have to say this again every year. The only reason they keep on breaking the record is they keep adding countries every year. It's all about the papers and Cook is the real opportunistic here. Get all the attention from the media and Apple will be all over the news for a couple days. I can walk to Apple Store today to get an iPhone 6s no problem except for the rose gold.
Always happens. Just like after every keynote. Even if Apple announces the most amazing tech ever, people still expect more. Sites like this one create unrealistic expectations of what will be announced (where is the projector MacRumors told us would be coming 4 years ago?!). Because of these expectations we see the stock drop every time. Even when the original iPhone was first announced and changed the industry forever, the stock dropped because apparently a total game changer isn't enough to satisfy stock holders.
You're assuming that the majority of these sales are upgrades...
Impressive. I find it annoying that the only thing I actually want from the 6s over my current 6+ is the 2gb of ram which Apple should have included last year. Frankly, I dont feel like supporting their actions by hoping over to the 6s... I wonder how much real world faster the 6s would be over the 6 if they both had 2gb ram...
A little bit of both ofcourse. Apple sets the production capacity in such a way that it will be able to meet demand, but not by too much. Producing too much = money lost, producing too little = money lost.So the quetion is, is the 13M a function of supply? Is Apple selling them as fast as they can make them? Or is there slightly softer demand at launch?
Based on the website below , which tracks Apple Store shipping dates in major launch countries, the earliest ship date is 10/5, lots of 10/19, some 1-2 weeks and the 6S Plus is mostly showing 3-4 weeks out. I tried to reserve a 64GB space gray and only a handful of Apple stores were listed as being available to reserve. My state wasn't (and it has 5 Apple stores).

Right but is there a limit to how much Apple can realistically ship in 3 days? Could the number have been 15M if Apple was able to deliver that many? The Apple Store tracking website below shows that no phones are available to ship before 10/5 in major launch countries. That leads me to believe Apple is selling them as fast as they can make them and the 13M is more an indicator of supply (capacity) than demand.A little bit of both ofcourse. A good result. One thing I do find funny is that they didn’t release Apple Watch numbers though?
It's surprising? It's less than expectations.

Can you not accept that others like these features and just move on? Using them is not mandatory and neither is owning an iPhone. You don't like iPhone, don't buy it. Don't like a feature on your phone, don't use it. It's a simple thing really. I like many others really like 3D Touch and find it useful. It seems as though other people liking something you don't, in your mind has to be illogical and unreasonable. Think about that for a minute. I don't like beef. Does it make everyone who eats beef illogical or unreasonable? No it doesn't.
Some people like Android, some Windows, some iOS, some BlackBerry. And you know what? There's not a thing wrong with that. Different people, different tastes, likes, needs. Again, not a difficult concept for a 'reasonable', 'logical' human being to comprehend.
