iPhone 6s dust under screen

That's a nice phone then... that you cannot even put on mute while it has a mute switch and is supposed to have been designed by Apple to be put on mute. :)
Well to be fair,I have an apple watch so when not in airplane mode I get my notifications quietly.

I just noticed that my top left corner has a few specks of dust now as well. It didn't at first (believe me, I scoured the thing for faults). So, I would say that yes, the mute switch seems to be the culprit. Oh well, I'll be swapping it for an iPhone 7 in the fall. Not worth fussing over.

Sounds like a nice solution. Apple: "if you don't want dust getting inside your new iPhone 6S, stop using the mute switch and buy our Apple Watch". The mute switch should be designed to be used without attracting any dust and accumulating it under the screen.

I'm just giving solutions to the problem,it's not like apple will fix it any time soon.

There is a small speck of dust under the screen. I didn't notice it until today, so it's obviously not too noticeable (though now I won't be able to un-see it ). It's a common enough issue that I'd probably run a good chance of getting another with the same problem - so I'll probably just deal with it. I always lose the Apple screen lottery, but just wondered how many other people have the same issue.

My expectations are always too high on Apple stuff. I always end up disappointed. ha!

I think you have exactly the same problem than I have and of course it is impossible to stop seeing it when you know is there. I'm adding a photo to corroborate if it's the same. It seems like it was dirt

y but not.

So have all you guys who have dust given up the fight ? Or continuing to swap?

Do you think a screen replacement is as likely
Or unlikely to fix the issue as is replacing the whole phone, is it that widespread ?

I've got dust under the screen again on my replacement from February. I want to go get it replaced but I'll probably catch flak over the small scratch I managed to put in the upper right hand corner the other weekend. I may put an E2E cover on it to help cover that and show that I DO take care of my device and still managed to get dust by the silent switch.

I exchanged the phone that I mentioned in that post (there was a volume button issue). The new one didn't have any specks of dust, but after half a year of use, a few pieces of dust have gotten into the top left portion of the screen - probably due to the mute switch. I'd say, if you don't notice it during normal use, it's not worth replacing.

has screen replacement permanently fixed the dust issue for anyone, or only those lucky to get a full phone replacement that are also lucky to not have the problem?

Haven't had any issues since I had mine replaced back in April...but I had mine replaced due to a broken silent switch.

good to know this issue, I will check it mine carefully, but I bought on Jan from office website, I'm not sure if I could still change

Wouldn't you know just looking at it real quick?

Jan would def be enough time for it to accumulate, if it were prone to it

So I have a slight but noticeable scratch near the battery indicator. I've actually gotten used to it because it's something I did but the dust near the other corner bothers me as its not supposed to be there. Anyone had luck getting there screen replaced because of the dust when there was existing self caused damage?

Probably depends on how bad the scratch is. If the scratch physically damaged the phone's structure (like bent or deeply gouged), then they might not replace the screen. If it's just a cosmetic scratch, it would likely be considered normal wear and tear, and they'd help you out.

That's persistence,

I think in the ipad 3 days, I gave it about 5 or 6 before I surrendered and even that was too much

I'm kinda over it already...Had mine in a lifeproof case so I wasn't worried as much but then got tired of it lol. Guess I'll just have to see if I'm one of the lucky ones but even then I might end up just upgrading to the next iPhone anyways.

If I were to have this resolved, would they replace the screen (preferred) or the entire phone (not preferred)?

I guess it depends on if they have the parts or not for 6S screens. I've had a few screen issues with a number of different iPhone models, and I've never had them replace the screen - they always have swapped the phone.

Decided to post theme song for the thread. The plaintiff lament of a new iPhone user as he/she notices that first spec of dust.

…So, uhm, has someone of you that's using the ringer switch, after replacing the phone or the screen, solved the problem for good? I have got mine replace 6 times by now, and every time, after less than a week of use, the dust returns in the top left corner. It's very frustrating. I'm thinking about replacing it one last time, and just sell this damn thing.
