There is a small speck of dust under the screen. I didn't notice it until today, so it's obviously not too noticeable (though now I won't be able to un-see it ). It's a common enough issue that I'd probably run a good chance of getting another with the same problem - so I'll probably just deal with it. I always lose the Apple screen lottery, but just wondered how many other people have the same issue.

My expectations are always too high on Apple stuff. I always end up disappointed. ha!

Don't give up take it back to Apple I hate playing the screen lottery too. A premium product you paid for the major things on these phones are the screen.

Yeah, I understand that. I've taken that route before - I went through multiple returns on an iPad once and almost gave up on Apple entirely. I've just decided to live with this phone. The rest of the screen is fine, and it's really not that noticeable unless you know where to look.

I'd imagine that's like a busted pixel - should be able to get a replacement if it's obvious when using (eg Safari is often white, so i'd imagine dust would get irritating as a mark constantly showing on the screen). More likely to be able to get a straight new phone rather than a refurb now i'd imagine.

I had it swapped out a the Genius Bar today... I regret exchanging it! The replacement has a darker upper left corner. No dead pixels or dust, but I would much rather have one tiny black dot than a dingy gray corner!

You should've asked the Genius if you could check the phone out before leaving. I did that with my 5s. First exchange, dust under the screen. Second exchange, much better (but the top portion of the screen was noticeably more yellow, but I didn't want to risk another exchange...)

My 6 Plus has dust under the screen, bought it back in February I think. It's only noticeable when the screen is off under a precise angle of light, so I kept it and used it uninhibited.

The Air 2, however, I went through six before accepting, four of which (two were distortion-heavy) had very noticeable dust under the screen when the unit was on, which I would not tolerate.

You have to pick your toleration level, I guess.

Dust under display is very common. If you look very carefully and spend a good 5 minutes on a white background at 100% brightness with a lint free cloth and check at multiple angle of views, you will find that 80% of the phones have dust inside. It's been like that since inception.

I have this same issued and posted about it yesterday. I have an appointment at Apple tomorrow to hopefully have it replaced. Now that I have seen that it's there it drives me crazy. It is the tiniest little speck of dust but still bothers me. I almost thought it was a dead pixel at first but it seems to be dust. Hopefully Apple doesn't think I am crazy and just replaces it.

Dust under the screen (along with a loose screen) is a MAJOR nightmare for me. I'd go nuts if I didn't get it replaced.

Got two specks of dust under the screen, one all the way down in the right corner and can only be seen from certain angles on white background, the other a tad more 'obvious' with its placement centrally and Measured 2cm downwards from the top of the screen.

Also have specks of dust inside the camera lens. Still I am waiting To see if things escalate because my screen is inbetween the overly blue and the overly yellow tone (IMO perfect), brighter than ipad air 2 and other iphone 6s plus I have so far compared it with and is quite even in tint.

Honestly, i have never noticed the two dust dots in my screen since finding them when i studied my screen like a jeweller for dead pixels and micro scratches. If it isn't a manufactural defect regarding the sealing of the phone I am fine with these things.

You are hard to miss with your troubles... Just curious, what made you trade your first phone with the great screen?

It wasn't as great as I initially thought. My 6s+ had an uneven tint and the "pinching" issue, my 6s also had an uneven tint and nasty blotches of what looked to be yellow when I would look at images of black. (That's usually how I determine any issues)

When i buy iphones checking screen is done at the store and get it replaced right there right away

You can miss a ton of issues with a quick, pressurised store check-up.

No pressure at all. Testing is after i bought the phone so I just sit thete and take my time testing. No one there gives me any pressure. I download the screen test app and check screen. I test speaker camera and test headphone jack with my earbud. When i bought a 6 plus last year i found a dust under screen right away. They replaced mine right away. No need to drive back and forth.

I suppose it could work out but it's too busy and noisy whenever I'm in the Apple Store. I'd rather inspect my phone in a peaceful environment, even if it does mean a possible trip back to replace it.

i replaced 4 handset of iphone 6s, they had dead pixels and many dust particles,
now im using 5th, it also have and worser than other,
company made Senstive case, they are sending me new sealed box,
but one thing to know,
i think the new tech 3d touch have something wrong.
i realized im getting dust under the screen + under the screen GLASS, both, day by day, more by more..
i think its design flaw..
this thing is bad as hell..
