Wasn't Touch ID considered a gimmick just two years ago? I think we should wait to see what happens with Live Photos before we call it a gimmick. I mean, 4K video could be considered a gimmick. How many AVERAGE people will actually fully use 4K video?

Same with slo-mo feature. I haven't used it once on my 6 since I never needed to in the first place. It would be nice to have that feature on a digital frame where you touch the picture to see it move.

Live Photos...

I think when you look at them right after you take the picture they are a gimmic, but years from now when I am looking at my pictures of my kids and family it will be good to see the little Life Snapshot that it takes with the photo...

My 6S Plus is sitting on my door step, but if the Touch ID is so fast, I do like seeing my lock screen from time to time. Seems like the obvious solution is to not add all your fingers to touch ID. On my 6 Plus I have all 10 configured, I might not do my pinkies and use those for lock screen activation.

you can just it the power button to wake it up without getting to the home screen

it's also easy to turn off at the top. Just touch the little circle if you don't want. I think you can turn it off by default and then use the circle to toggle. I like them. I'm wondering if people with older iPhone can see them. I like them. Hoping more apps use the API Apple is releasing to use them.

According to apple they can... I think they have to wait until 9.1.... And you can see them in El Cap

So yea, I only took one live photo so far and I was excited about this feature. At the iPhone reveal it looked super smooth and nice. Like a real 3 second video with a picture in the middle. On my phone it just seems choppy like a bad flip book. A little let down by it.

Other than that 3D Touch is cool and 6s plus is much snappier. Maybe with time I will get into live pictures and perhaps they will improve them if my experience is the norm for it.

Also Touch ID is insanely fast.

I'm loving my 6s Plus! However i think there is a fault with it...whenever i unlock it whether it's touch id or just using my passcode, the screen freezes up for a couple of seconds! It doesn't do it all the time but i'm worried there is something wrong with the phone :(

I have the Galaxy Note 5, and was also in love with the screen and camera and the form factor...but then I bought it and realized...again...that Android and especially Samsung's Touchwiz version of it, kinda ruins the whole experience.

4GB of Ram + an Exynos Quadcore Chip and my dual core 6 Plus with 1GB of Ram & iOS 9 was still smoother, even with some of the bugs iOS 9 has. It's SO frustrating.
I keep hearing that the S6 Edge Plus is much smoother running and overall better than Note 5..
That being said,I have no doubt iOS is smoother than any Android, but then I have an iPad and get enough time with iOS,owned the iPhone 6 since launch and now feel it's boring.I need something more that that for an upgrade, also I really care about exterior design and in that regard, the S6 Edge Plus beats iPhone 6s Plus big time.compare that stunning S6 gold with the pale, boring matt shades of iPhone for example..or that amazing Oled screen to the boring ips screen of iPhone..

Touch ID is annoyingly fast actually.

It must be mentioned though, the phone is very speedy and safari tabs are not reloading (so far)!

Maybe it's me, but Touch ID feels like it is the same speed.

EDIT: Nevermind, I usually hold my finger on the home button for a couple of seconds. I can definitely notice the speed now.

I had guessed. Chances are I'll actually have it off most of the time, as I only want a still photo.

Have to get used to pressing the power button instead of the home button when I only want to check the time/battery charge :D

*annoyingly snappier

Fixed it. ;)

No more tapping the home button to see what time it is, Touch ID is too fast for that anymore. Not saying it's a bad thing at all.

Just to turn on the screen by pressing the home button unlocks the phone.

Some people have been saying use another finger but it feel natural to grab your phone and touch the home button and use your thumb.

If you press and release the home button VERY quickly (like a quick click of the mouse on a desktop), it seems to not activate the Touch ID sensor. This may be a more useful alternative than pressing the power button or using a non-registered fingerprint.

This launch was terrible. I had a terrible experience w/ my 6S Plus because the 3D Touch was not calibrated properly. Someone's else email showed up when I tried to restore a backup from my 6+. And I cannot use wifi calling since nobody can hear me. So great luck so far.

Seems like Apple did great with the 6S. Overall I'm seeing a lot of happy customers and few complaints about the hardware.

The biggest issue seems to be with bugs in Apple's financing program!

hehe... what i tells ya "pink" :D

Personally, wouldn't Touch ID taking more time to scan be actually "more secure" some sort of way ?

if i place my finger on the Home button, i know i've done it base don the time it takes (which in this day and age people can't even wait 2 seconds before they tweet)..... it feels more natural... so obviously everyone would like a "faster" scanner .... users report they had no ide they even touch the button because it was so quick...

That's what i'm saying "i know i'm resting my finger on it" users with newer phones may not know because its too quick to even notice.

It's a gimmick because in the 2 seconds I've had my 6s I don't like it

...logic checks out

yes, touch Id is just STUPID fast..just pressing the button to illuminate the screen - you're done, it's on and unlocked. It almost seems fake but it of course doesn't do anything with non-registered fingers so yes, it's just stupid fast.

the phone is noticeably faster than my iphone 6..page loads, screen to screen, opening apps, it's CLEARLY faster. whether or not this type of thing is of value to someone to upgrade is a personal choice.

The answer is no. Try a non registered finger and it won't work. It's still as secure as the 1st gen Touch ID.

I like Live Photo's it was on by default and didn't realise till i went to play with it and had already captured some unexpected great moments.. I must admit as soon as i new it was on the poser in me ruined it a little but still great.

Touch ID is great now, finally! It has not rejected my fingerprint once so far, excellent.

3D Touch I like it but and still 50/50 on its usefulness. I really don't see me really using it with the options that are available but maybe that will change as the options and apps expand. Still Undecided.

The phone in noticeably thicker to me and obviously heavier i don't like the feel as much as the 6 but nothing i wont get used to, the 6 just feels nicer to me. I didn't think it would bother me but it is slightly annoying.

Might be software related. Mines been doing that sometimes too.
