If the 6c is priced and spec'd well, I'll be all over it! My 5 is still in good condition and runs well, but I imagine iOS 9 will be slow. Plus no Apple Pay or Verizon VoLTE. Basically I want a 4" A7 or A8 with at least 16gb. Aluminum would be better, but I'll take the polycarbonate if it looks good. Apple needs to realize that there are all size preferences, but no one wants reduced specs.

You've never used your phone walking down the street? Used it while holding on to a subway pole? While carrying something? There are tons of reasons one-handed use is necessary.

Besides, it's not just about one-handed use. The smaller phone size allows for a stronger, tighter grip. I don't want a giant phone I have to baby and cradle in my hand; I want a phone I can grip securely when I use it on the go.

I do use it while walking down the street, and I use both hands, as I'm sure most people do. I don't ride the subway, I own a car.

Smaller phones may allow for a tighter one-handed grip, but a a two-handed grip will be even tighter than that.

If it's a premium phone at 4", I'm all in. But the "C" worries me--I don't want an 8GB, tupperware-backed, no touch-ID, no Apple Pay, iPhone.
That's exactly where the post-iP6 release 5C is at, so there's obviously going to be more to a 6C. I doubt they'll use the 'C' designation for anything that isn't 'tupperware-backed', though.

"Rumored for 2015 release". In other news human beings have two arms and two legs.

When the next gen iPhone will be available, there will still be 4 inch display in iPhone lineup. iPhone 5S, 6, 6+, 6S and 6S+.

When there will be time for 7, 4 inch will disappear, and that will be good moment for bringing back 4 inch display to the lineup.

Apple then will possibly design 3 iPhone's. 4, 4.7 and 5.5 inch.

Multiple MacBook sizes (11, 12, 13, 15)

Multiple iPhone sized (c?, standard, plus)

Multiple iPad sizes (mini, air, pro?)

Catering to lots of people these days huh.

Apple has become very predictable.

Do we really need 11, 12, 13, 15 inch MBs?

I would prefer a lineup of 12" MB, 14" MBA, 16" MBP.

I don't want a watered down 4" version. I want a 4" phone with all the horsepower and camera quality of the full sized models.

I hate big phones. If I want something bigger, I'll use my iPad.

First of all, which bit of "in an ideal world" didn't you understand?

Second, if you were right in absolute terms we wouldn't have a Mac (or Windows for what matters) or a mouse, or the iPad, etc...
These are all products that created a market, not followed one.

What might appear right (to the simple mind) for business purposes does not necessarily win in the long term.
Innovation is all about stepping out of the beaten track.

If you are talking about new product categories sure, but this is a well established mature product market and that is where your logic doesn't apply. The smartphone market is characterised by well informed consumers and a wide competitor field. Although incremental innovations by companies can surely create some small pockets of new directions (like the Samsung Edge), it is the overall market as a whole (in the sense of the combination of competitors and consumers) that determines the direction.

A company failing to understand that (e.g. by neglecting large screen sizes or streaming music) will find itself losing market share.

I have to agree that one size is much better (Being a part time developer, myself)

I honestly hate my 6 though, its slips from my grip too easily with the rounded edges, I can't reach the corner of the device one handed with very large hands, and I'll even say (though no one will agree) the display doesn't look as nice as the 5S. They claim the same PPI, but i never noticed pixels on my 5S the way i do on the 6

Would the PPI go up significantly if Apple introduced a Force Touch screen with OLED on the 6s?

If true, and if they don't cripple the smaller phone like they did the retina iPad mini 2, this would be one of the single smartest things Apple has done in a while.

Expanding the lineup is the best way to reach a wider swath of users. I've always contended that their 3-tier-choice (i.e. good, better, best &, 13", 15", 17" MBPs) needed to be brought back.

I hope this is true and it gets expanded to the rest of their lineup:

11", 13", 15" MBAir
13", 15", 17" MBP Retina (I want a portable iMac, dang it!!!)
21", 27", 30" iMac (unlikely, but still)
21", 27", 30" TB/Retina/Cinema Displays
7.9", 9.7", 12"(?) iPad

--Leave the Macbook as a one-off (but keep the 3 colors :p ).

One can dream, right?

Females always carry bags

Um...no. SOME women/girls carry bags. Some don't. Just like dudes.

This phone, should it come into existence, would be for anyone of any gender who likes the 4" form factor.

2015 could be a very expensive year! Upgrade my 5s to the 6s plus! Skylake MacPro???? And SKYLAKE 15 MacPro laptop!? at least I have another year to save for apple watch 2!!

2015 doesn't have to be an expensive year. You could get off the 's' cycle and wait for next year's iPhone 7 Plus. As for the Skylake 15 MacPro, you may have to wait until early next year for Apple to release it. Might as well make 2016 a trifecta of Apple goodness with the iPhone 7 Plus, Skylake 15 MacPro (or a 14" retina MB if such a beast exists in the Apple labs) and Apple Watch 2. Just saying...:p:D

i like that apple is giving options, as much as i love the design and feel of my iphone 6, when i do use it without its case its very slippery. although when i use my 5 from time to time it feels very small. but i think its good to have options. :apple:

Have you not considered a TPU gel case? It would seem the logical solution...
