I think many of us have just come to accept or gotten used to the various issues of 9.x.

I don't think the issue is related to iOS 9. My iPhone 5s started to randomly shut off some time ago, after upgrade to iOS 8. The issue is not new and Apple seems to get away with it somehow. I couldn't find a single word about it coming from Apple. Just google it and you will find out that this happens with all iPhones since 2014 or even earlier. People keep complaining about it all the time!!!

I tried everything, restore, DFU restore, new battery. Nothing changed. Unfortunately my problem started just after Apple warranty ran out. I am a happy Mac user, but this thing with iPhones is really disappointing.

My 6S started about two weeks ago telling me each morning that I needed to sign in with passcode after restart (although had not been restarted as far as I knew). About a week ago, started random freeze requiring two-button reboot. Upgraded to latest iOS today, now shuts down, I reboot, displays a scrolling corrupted screen, shuts down again... so have a completely non-functional phone. Not happy

Give it back and replace it

iPhone 6s 64 gb Silver (Samsumg chip)

I have it for 11 days with no issue, last night my iphone was dead, on/off button not working, home button not working, try hard reset and iPhone went to life.

IOS 9.0.2
My iPhone was restored from Itunes backup, (not icloud) when I bought it.

no problems in first 11 days until I installed an old app from App store "NoiseWatch" version 2.0 (last update 02/01/2013)
I uninstalled it

UPDATE

After a month I had uninstalled that old app, I had no problems, I have IOS 9.1

Since 9.1 and several 9.2 betas I've not had this occur again in over a month now, and I had it several times on 9.0 and earlier 9.1 betas.

I was experiencing the same issue with my 6 running ios 9.1. It would just turn off at random times and only a hard restart would get it back on, BUT, I turned off icloud backup and it has been working now for several days without incident.

Reactions: wakinghour
iPhone 6s with iOS 9.1. Shut itself off randomly in the middle of the day. I put the phone in my pocket, 10 minutes later I pulled it out to use it and it was dead. Had to hard reset to power it back on. 45% battery when it died and when it came back on 10 minutes later it was at 33%.
9 versions of software entropy at play. It will only get worse, iOS has gotten so bulky and complex (with a bazillion combinations of hardware, apps, add ons, integration points, continuity etc) that it is practically impossible to become more stable as it ages. Just gotta accept it.

iPhone 5 with ios 9.2 Shut off randomly...every day...and that phone always stuck on apple logo.
first, my iphone always off and i just hold the power and home button and it's starting up again. about one month ago, my iphone completly shut off, and always stuck on apple logo, i try restore from DFU mode, they just normal for about 10 minutes, and then back to shut off randomly again...when iOs 9.2 is release, i hope my phone will normal again... but, nothing good happen.

because that, i try to purchased an android device and... I CAN'T LIVE WITH THEIR ECOSYSTEM!!! their taste is so bad...very very bad...

today i just try to insert headphone jack when trying to boot, and the result is good, and i just install 9.2.1 PB and trying to hope my iPhone will live normal again.

Similar proble with my 5s. Did a deep refresh at the Apple Store to be sure the iOS was completely reinstalled. It didn't help. It appears when he sleep/wake button doesn't work the home button doesn't either. Pretty random. Sometimes it'll work for days. Then it'll be 10-15 presses or a very long wait before it'll wake up. I also found once when I plugged in the charger it didn't acknowledge it (momentarily wakes ups and beeps/vibrates) for about a couple of minutes. Really seems to be an iOS issue.

My iphone doesn't do this but my iPads both do it quite frequently. They ask me to put in my pass code instead of my fingerprint so I imagined that they have rebooted at some point. It doesn't really bother me though. I think it would if it happened a lot on my phone.

Diagnostics:
1. iPad Air, 16GB, iOS 9.2, idle stat

2. Started new
3. Restored thro IPSW using iTunes
4. None
5. -

Major problem is it does not wake up most of the time even through force restart.
Works well in force restart when its shutdown while in ideal recently.
Wont boot at all when shutdown for longer period.

I'm still having issues as well. I found that shutting off TouchID and using a four number password seems to drastically cut down on the lockups. Incredibly frustrating though.

I've experienced the same issue with abrupt shut off. Typically this occurs over night, and my alarm does not sound. On one occasion in the past, the home button was very warm. However, this has not happened since. My phone model specs: iphone 6s, 128gb, 9.0.2, Verizon. Please help get this fixed.
