The rose gold for the AW is gorgeous and much less pink than the phones they're showing, BUT it's actual rose gold, so...might not be the same.

there is an apple watch sport that should be the same aluminum that the phone will be made out of. it is much less pink and much more beige in person.

Come to think of it, the color is basically peach. This photo comes pretty close.

yep! NOT pinkie pink! more beige... peach

It really depends on the shade. If this really looks pink in person, then that would obviously be a feminine phone, but to each their own. The thing is, it may not be pink.

In reality this color along with the other iPhone colors are purposely advertised as being gender neutral. Apple purposely showed a video of a man pulling his rose gold iPhone out of his jacket to show us that this color is for both men and women. In a nut shell, if the pink iPhone had a hello kitty on its rear shell and the space grey phone had a picture of Rambo with his weapon then we all would know what gender these phones are targeting. But that is not the case with the Rose gold and space grey iPhones.

Depends on how it looks, but there are several men's products in rose gold.

Although, I must say they look a lot less pink compared to the iPhone.

OP, have you seen one in person?

Real rose gold isn't the same as artificial rose gold-colored aluminum, and anyone can easily check this out by comparing the rose gold aluminum AW to the rose gold Edition AW on display at the Apple Store. Rose gold aluminum looks pink or peach compared to the much more subtle genuine rose gold, including the real rose gold watch you posted.

Meh, if the color works for you, go for it.

If it does not, no big deal.

I know many men who wear pink at my office and as I've said elsewhere I think it'll look great on any man who rocks it.

While I do like it, if I were to stick with an iPhone this woman would continue to rock space gray.

Funny and ironic story here....

So my initial thoughts were, and still are, that the Rose Gold color is a bit too feminine. This is in MY opinion so whoever loves the color, despite your gender or sexual preference, get what you love. Apple is all about expressing yourself through technology so no one should make anybody else feel badly about a simple color choice.

So I wake up 3am on Saturday, spend an hour and a half on hold, finally get through the Customer Service and I order a 6 Plus 128GB standard Gold color, I really like the Gold option as Gold has always been a color that signifies royalty to me and I loved my OG 6 Plus 64GB Gold. So the preorder is placed and everything is right with the world right?

WRONG!

I finally receive my email to sign the EIP last night at 2:58am and I'm all ready and giddy to sign. Until I read that the order was placed for an IPhone 6 Plus 128GB. NO S anywhere in the wordage! So 7 hours, 5 calls, an email, and threatening twice to cancel my t-mobile service I finally get that incorrectly processed order canceled and get to place an order. In order to avoid having another issue where a rep incorrectly orders me a regular 6 Plus I decide that a brilliant idea is to go ahead and order a 6S Plus Rose Gold, because you CANT mess that up right? So I get the email within 5 Minutes of placing this order and all is correct with the world.

The moral of the story is that Rose Gold was ultimately my salvation. I'll probably slap a case around it anyway so it doesn't stand out. Who knows? I may learn to love it and it will make a funny story

Hi All,

Kinda like the rose gold option but hey need to ask my fellow forum members - could a guy carry off this colour or is it too feminine?

Thanks!

Nubben
Hey your not alone. If you like it just get. Who cares what people think. Myself I ordered the rose gold iPhone 6s plus. My wife said that's the new color. Many watch makers like Rolex make rose gold watches for men and they look nice. So bottom line go for your gut feeling and if you don't like it you have 14days to return it. Enjoy!!

Can't wait for my pink iPhone. Finally some real colors. I hope someday they do burgundy, and especially a nice metallic navy blue.

I'm sorry guys, but have you ever actually SEEN real rose gold? It's time to call a spade a spade: This is PINK!

I bet 90% of male "rose gold" customers will regret their decision in a few months.

--> Just my 2 cents <--

This. Pink is at least a color, not a neutral tone or a fake attempt at jewelry. I think that's mostly why I'm into it.

In my OPINION, gold is tricky for men to pull off generally (in the United States.) It tends to look tacky and "blingy" in a bad way. Some guys can and do pull it off, but they're few and far between.

Rose gold is, again in my OPINION, one step too far. It's not a color that men can easily wear. I wouldn't recommend it for male jewelry and I wouldn't recommend it for a man's iPhone either.

As always, tastes are completely subjective.

That's not true at all for genuine rose gold. However, the rose gold on aluminum AW and iPhone isn't real and artificially colored so it's very different. Below is an example of a real rose gold watch and you can see how subtle and subdued it is.

Well your two cents are sexist, sorry.

Yeah, I want it because it's pink. It's a color, and I like colors. Also, to preempt your mental questions, I'm a heterosexual male.

That's false. You also claimed that 90% of male "rose gold" customers will regret their decision in a few months. That's specifically what they were calling you out on.

Yeah, and what I meant by saying that is that they will eventually realize that it's pink, when they see it in reality. Therefore, I was just assuming that the majority of males don't want the object that they probably use the most in their lifes (to quote Jony Ive) to be pink (or any other gaudy/brash color). You came up with the whole sexuality issue.

Everyone who I've seen who has ordered rose gold knows it has a pink hue. That is why they are ordering it. I'm not aware of anyone who thinks it's anything else and will freak out and return it when they find out it's pink.
